It is important to concern about individual difference on every subject and every class. How can we know the individual difference? It is helpful for that to find out students' math learning style and learning type. In this paper, I conducted a survey to look for math learning style and math learning type of 4th, 5th and 6th grade students, and analyzed those data. The research findings are summarized as follows; First, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students prefer the visual learning style to the verbal style, and they have more wholistic tendency than analytical tendency in the domain of the cognitive learning style. Second, they prefer the authoritative and goal-oriented learning style to the practical and recreational learning style, and they have more interior-oriented than exterior-oriented in the domain of affective learning style. Third, the representative math learning type of 4th, 5th and 6th grade students is visual/holistic/authoritative and goal-oriented/interior-oriented. The math learning styles of students have a lot of influence on their learning, so that an appropriate teaching method for each student could arouse a maximum effect in the math study.
The Index of Learning Styles (ILS) instrument based on the Felder-Silverman Learning Style Model was used to determine distribution of learning styles of 125 South Korean business students enrolled in a South Korean institution of higher education. Results show that greater proportion of South Korean business students surveyed in this study prefer sensing over intuitive, visual over verbal, reflective over active, and global over sequential learning styles. The majority of business students have a balanced learning style in all four dimensions of the Felder-Silverman model. Among the students that do not have a balanced learning style, students with sensing, visual, reflective, and global learning styles dominate. Gender difference in learning style preference was not statistically significant for any of the four dimensions.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the differences between two groups of students according to information recognition styles such as visual learners and linguistic learners. Two instructional methods, algeblocks and factorization formula, were utilized to introduce the factorization. Four students were participated for the study, and two of them were visual learners and the other two were linguistic learners based on learning style test. Interviews and the diagnostic tests were implemented before the instructions which were lasted for 6 sessions. After the instructions all the participants were interviewed and the researchers also interviewed them 5 days later. The results of the study were the followings: 1. All the participants regardless of their learning style revealed that algeblocks were helpful in understanding the factorization. 2. Visual learners were more likely using algeblocks, while the linguistic learners were more enthusiastic and proficient in using formula to solve the problems. 3. Five days later, two types of learning style students revealed different tendencies. Visual learners mainly used algeblocks, and linguistic learners were not enthusiastic about using algeblocks and one of them did not use them at all. 4. Five days later, two visual learners could not remember the formula, but linguistic learners could remember the formula in somewhat different level.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept concerned with Earth's rotation as passed by tenth graders whose interest in earth's rotation and learning styles were varied. To examine student's interest in the Earth's rotation, 4students (visual-verbal learning style student with much interest, visual learning style student with much interest, visual learning style student with little interest, and verbal learning style student with little interest) were chosen for study. Personal interview was used for this study. To probe students' conception in varied ways, they were allowed to make gesture and draw pictures through data collection process, except for interviews. And the data were analyzed one by one. The result of this study were as follows: First, the student with much interest was faster to answer the questions about Earth's rotation than the one with little interest. Also he comprehended better and was able to explain reasons coherently. Second, there was little difference according to student's learning style. Third, one of the repeated misconception was direction. For thinking that is the right side is the east side, students have misconception that the sun goes from right to left and stars in north sky move clock-wise.

Students have often experienced difficulties in understanding the concept of the particulate nature of matter despite its importance in chemistry. Although various instructional methods have been suggested for teaching this concept, systematic studies have been rarely conducted. Therefore, this study investigated the effects of drawing and analyzing pictures. Three classes of 7th graders at a coed middle school in Seoul were assigned to the control group, the drawing group, and the analyzing group, respectively. Students were taught about the three states of matter and the motion of molecules for 8 class periods. The instructional effects on student conception, achievement, and science learning motivation were investigated by student visual learning styles. Results revealed that the scores of a conceptions test and a science learning motivation test for both the drawing group and the analyzing group were higher than those for the control group. Additionally, the scores of the science learning motivation test were also found to be higher for students with a more visual learning style than their counterparts.

This study shows how to impact on programming learning using Scratch by the learning style. Firstly, students were classified by learning styles test using the VARK questionnaire. After one semester of programming education, correlation with learning styles and various instructional factors was analyzed. Scratch-based programming education improves the cognitive effectiveness and learning satisfaction for elementary school students. Especially students with visual preference performed better on programming education based on Scratch statistically. As a result, the process of programming must be mainly considered in programming education.

This study investigated the influences of small group discussion and students' visual learning style in learning chemical concepts with drawing and writing as methods to assist students in connecting and integrating multiple external representations. Seventh graders (N=449) at a coed middle school were assigned to individual drawing (ID), pair drawing (PD), individual writing (IW), and pair writing (PW) groups. All students learned "Boyle's Law" and "Charles's Law" for two class periods. Analyses of the results revealed that the students in the PD group, regardless of students' visual learning style, scored significantly higher than those in the ID group in a conception test. The scores of the students with strong visual learning preference in the PW group were significantly higher than those in the IW group in the conception test, while the scores of the students with weak visual learning preference were not significantly different between the two groups. Although the conception test scores of the PD group were higher than those of the PW group, the difference was relatively small. It was found that most students in both PD and PW groups perceived pair drawing and pair writing positively upon cognitive and motivational aspects.
The purpose of this study is to examine difference of information processing style on lesson comprehension scores and usability ratings in e-Learning containing visual information structure. To address this goal, 68 university students were participated in this research. They were asked information processing style test, lesson comprehension test, and usability ratings after completed e-Learning lesson. According to the result, there was not significant difference between visual and verbal information process style on lesson comprehension as learn outcomes. However, students who are visual information processing style were significantly higher ratings than students who are verbal information processing style on 4 of 8 usability scales; awareness of lesson structure, awareness of lesson length, ease of navigation, and ease of lesson learning. These result indicate that there will be needed the design of aptitude treatment interaction for e-Book according to information processing style.
The constituents of math learning styles are information recognition and information processing in the cognitive domain and attitudes toward math learning and environments of math learning in the affective domain. Each of the constituents has two opposing styles; there are the visual style and verbal style in information recognition; and there are the whole style and analytical style in information processing. And as for attitudes toward math learning, there are two styles which are the authoritative and goal-oriented style and the practical and entertaining style. Also as for attitudes toward environments of math learning, there are two styles which are the interior-oriented style and exterior-oriented style. There can be classified into 16 types of mathematics learning by the combination of a total of 8 styles of mathematics learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the preference of the students from three middle schools located in Daegu Metropolitan City to the styles and types of mathematics learning.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among spatial ability, learning styles, visual-perception- recall abiltiy, and the conceptual construction of the earth and moon's motion. Four paper-and-pencil tests were used to measure students' cognitive variables. Spatial ability was measured by Spatial Visualization Test, visual-perception-recall ability was measured by Rey's Figure which also have used to test visual- perception-recall ability of right-temporal lobes, and VVT were used to investigate students' learning styles. further, the test of concept construction was consisted of 15 items about the earth and moon's motion developed by researcher One hundred and twenty-seven 6th-, one hundred and sixteen 7th-, eighty-seven 9th-grade, ninety-three college students were participated in the investigation of the effects of age and learning style on conceptual construction. In the analysis of students' performances, spatial ability, visual-perception-recall ability, and conceptual achievement showed an increasing pattern with grading. In addition, visual learner's conceptual achievement showed a significantly higher score on conceptual test than verbal learner's(p<0.05). The results of the present study supported tile hypothesis that learning styles would differently influence to learning atmospheric concepts by students'learning styles. This study also indicated to be considered the students' spatial ability in learning atmospheric concepts.
