  • We present a smooth simply connected closed eight dimensional manifold with distinct symplectic deformation equivalence classes [[${\omega}_i$]], i = 1, 2 such that the symplectic Z invariant, which is defined in terms of the scalar curvatures of almost K$\ddot{a}$hler metrics in [5], satisfies $Z(M,[[{\omega}_1]])={\infty}$ and $Z(M,[[{\omega}_2]])$ < 0.

  • We present smooth simply connected closed 4k-dimensional manifolds N := Nk, for each k ∈ {2, 3, ⋯}, with distinct symplectic deformation equivalence classes [[ωi]], i = 1, 2. To distinguish [[ωi]]’s, we used the symplectic Z invariant in [4] which depends only on the symplectic deformation equivalence class. We have computed that Z(N, [[ω1]]) = ∞ and Z(N, [[ω2]]) < 0.

  • The linear support vector machine(SVM) is motivated by the maximal margin separating hyperplane and is a popular tool for binary classification tasks. Many studies exist on the consistency properties of SVM; however, it is unknown whether the linear SVM is consistent for estimating the optimal classification boundary even in the simple case of two Gaussian classes with a common covariance, where the optimal classification boundary is linear. In this paper we show that the linear SVM can be inconsistent in the univariate Gaussian classification problem with a common variance, even when the best tuning parameter is used.

  • In this paper we provide a rigorous proof for the fact that there are exactly 8 connected Alexander quandles of order $2^5$ by combining properties of fixed point free automorphisms of finite abelian 2-groups and the classification of conjugacy classes of GL(5, 2). Furthermore we verify that six of the eight associated Alexander modules are simple, whereas the other two are semisimple.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the relations between quasilinear elliptic equations on Riemannian manifolds and differential forms. Two classes of differential forms are introduced and it is shown that some differential expressions are connected in a natural way to quasilinear elliptic equations.

  • We introduce two new classes of lightlike submersions, namely, screen slant and screen semi-slant lightlike submersions from an indefinite Kaehler manifold to a lightlike manifold giving characterization theorems with non trivial examples for both classes. Integrability conditions of all distributions related to the definitions of these submersions have been obtained.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide more efficient teaching method in teaching home Economics in High School. For this study, total 205 girls’high school students in the 2nd grade, among whom 103 students of 2 classes were in Chonju and 102 students of another 2 classes in Kunsan, were selected. Each one classes apiece of two areas were control group. Lessons on laundering were given to students in Chonju and lessons on arrangement of clothing were given to ones in Kunsan. The project Method of education was applied to the experimental group and the cramming system of education was applied to the control group. The difference of two groups were statistically analysed by t-test after the written examination, Practitude, creative ability and interest test. The results of this study are ; 1. The experimental group was higher in practical attitude, creative ability and interest than the control group. 2. Teaching through project method will give changes to the students’attitude toward their household affaires. 3. Teaching-learning method will be improved if lessons applied by project method is given, as the recognisable effect rises through the positive way of thinking and empirical method.

  • The primary goal of this paper is to propose methods of enriching two heterogeneous ontologies: Sejong Semantic Classes (SJSC) and KorLexNoun 1.5 (KLN). In order to achieve this goal, this study introduces the pros and cons of two ontologies, and analyzes the error patterns found during the fine-grained manual mapping processes between them. Error patterns can be classified into four types: (1) structural defectives involved in node branching, (2) errors in assigning the semantic classes, (3) deficiency in providing linguistic information, and (4) lack of the lexical units representing specific concepts. According to these error patterns, we propose different solutions in order to correct the node branching defectives and the semantic class assignment, to complement the deficiency of linguistic information, and to increase the number of lexical units suitably allotted to their corresponding concepts. Using the results of this study, we can obtain more enriched ontologies by correcting the defects and errors in each ontology, which will lead to the enhancement of practicality for syntactic and semantic analysis.

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of explicit instruction about nature of science by elementary school students' cognitive level. Participants were six classes, 187 sixth graders at elementary schools in Daegu. Three classes were assigned to control groups and the other classes to treatment groups. Control groups were provided normal instructions and treatment groups were provided instructions integrated with nature of science about chapter 'electromagnet' for 9 class periods. The results of this study were as follow. Both low-cognitive level students and high-cognitive level students in the treatment groups are improved in understanding about nature of science by the explicit instructions about nature of science. Especially, the high-cognitive level students had more improvement than the low-cognitive level students in understanding about nature of science by the explicit instructions about nature of science. There were no significant differences between the test scores of the two groups in the science interest sub-domain of the science-related affective domain. But, there were significant differences between the test scores of the two groups in curiosity and open-mindedness of the scientific attitudes sub-domain of the science-related affective domain.

  • This study is the analysis of the effects of Jigsaw II Cooperative Learning upon the academic achievement and upon the ability of self-directed learning, compared to lecturing. It made it experimental target for two male and two female classes of students in the 2nd grade of humanity high school in Ulsan metropolitan area. One male and one female classes conducted Jigsaw II cooperative learning by making up a small group heterogeneously from the aspect of learning ability, and the other male and female classes carried out the lecturing focusing on a teacher. As for the academic achievement of science, Jigsaw II cooperative learning was shown to be effective compared to the lecturing. As for the ability of self-directed learning, Jigsaw II cooperative learning was indicated to be effective compared to the lecturing. As for the ability of self-directed learning for Jigsaw II cooperative learning, it was indicated to be effective compared to the lecturing. Given seeing this, it was identified the necessity for Jigsaw II cooperative learning to be applied to a school field as an alternative plan for the lecturing.
