에멀젼 증발법에 의한 산화텅스텐 분말의 제조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Preparation of Tungsten Oxide powders Using Emulsion Evaporation Methods)

  • 에멀젼 증발법에 의해 구형의 산화텅스텐 분말을 제조하는 연구를 하였다. 분말의 특성은 TGA, X-ray 회절, SEM, image analysis 등을 이용하여 조사하였다. 텅스텐 이온이 함유된 수상과 등유, 계면활성제, 파라핀유로 이루어진 유기상을 고속으로 교반하여 에멀젼을 제조하였다. 에멀젼을 $160^{\circ}C$의 등유욕내에서 증발시틴 후 얻어진 침전물을 $160^{\circ}C$에서 하소하여 텅스텐 산화 분말을 제조하였다. 산화텅스텐 분말의 평균 입경은 $0.5\;\mu\textrm{m}$ 였으며 모양은 구형이었다. Watre-in-oil형 에멀젼으로 제조된 $W_{3}$는 oil-in-water 형의 것보다 응집도가 적었다. 계면활성제의 HLB값이 증가할수록, 에멀젼 중의 텅스텐 이온의 농도가 감소할수록 평균입도가 작아졌으며, $W_{3}$ 입자들의 응집도는 증가하였다. 계면활정제로 사용한 Span 80의 농도는 8 vol%가 적당했고, 에멀젼 제조시 교반속도는 5000rpm이 적당했다.

  • There are various issues fabricating the successful and efficient solar cell structures. One of the most important issues is band alignment technique. The solar cells make the carrier in their active region over the p-n junction. Then, electrons and holes diffuse by minority carrier diffusion length. After they reach the edge of solar cells, there exist large energy barrier unless the good electrode are chosen. Many various conductor with different work functions can be selected to solve this energy barrier problem to efficiently extract carriers. Tungsten oxide has large band gap known as approximately 3.4 eV, and usually this material shows n-type property with reported work function of 6.65 eV. They are extremely high work function and trap level by oxygen vacancy cause them to become the hole extraction layer for optical devices like solar cells. In this study, we deposited tungsten oxide thin films by sputtering technique with various sputtering conditions. Their electrical contact properties were characterized with transmission line model pattern. The structure of tungsten oxide thin films were measured by x-ray diffraction. With x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, the content of oxygen was investigated, and their defect states were examined by spectroscopic ellipsometry, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and photoluminescence measurements.

  • In this paper, we have studied the effect of electron reflection on shadow mask on which tungsten oxide film is coated and have studied the variation of beam mislanding with coating thickness in CRT. We found the method to be able to control coating thicknessed and optimum coating thickness of tungsten oxide film was 1∼2$\mu\textrm{m}$. Mislanding of electron beam was reduced about 20∼48% with increasing coating thickness in CRT

  • The electrochromic behaviors of de-magnetron sputtered tungsten oxide thin films were investigated during coloration and bleach cycles using in situ real-time spectroscopic ellipsometry. Effective medium approximation and least-squares regression analyses were employed to investigate the electrochromic process. The optical properties of the tungsten oxide film were analyzed using the oscillator model and the evolution of the process using a reaction-limited model. In these analyses, we found that two different reaction rates were associated with the process. We ascribe this behavior to the microstructure of this films.

전기적 착색 텅스텐 산화물 박막의 화학적 안정성 (Chemical Stability of The Electrochromic Tungsten oxide Thin Films)

  • 아르곤-산소분위기에서 텅스텐산화물 표적을 사용한 rf 마그네트론 스파타링 방법으로 전기적 착색 텅스텐산화물 박막이 ITO가 피복된 유리기판 위에 제작되었다. 사파타링에 의한 제작 조건 중 특히 기판온도가 막의 화학적 안정성에 미치는 영향이 연구되었다. 박막은 리듐퍼코로라이트와 황산 전해질 속에서 전기화학적으로 이온의 주입과 추출 과정이 반복되었으며 또한 착색성을 나타내었다. 착색성을 나타낸 텅스텐 산화물박막들 중에서 기판 온도가 $150^{\circ}C$에서 제작된 막의 내구성이 가장 안정되었다.

  • 본 의료기관에서 사용되는 방사선 차폐체는 주로 납을 활용하여 제품과 부속품을 제작한다. 납은 가공성과 경제성이 우수하지만 폐기 시 환경 문제로 인해 사용량을 줄이고 있으며, 오랫동안 사용했을 시 크랙 현상과 중력에 의한 처짐 현상으로 인해 차폐막, 차폐벽, 의료기기 부픔 등으로 장기간 사용하기에는 한계가 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 구리, 주석 등을 사용하지만, 아직 차폐성능을 제어하기에는 제작 공정에 어려움이 있어 대부분 텅스텐을 많이 사용하고 있다. 그러나 아직 텅스텐의 종류에 따른 특성이 잘 제시되지 못해 다른 차폐재와의 비교가 어렵다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 순수 텅스텐, 탄화텅스텐, 산화 텅스텐을 이용하여 동일한 공정으로 의료방사선 차폐시트를 제작하여 시트 단면의 입자 구성과 차폐성능을 비교하였다. 비교 결과 순수 텅스텐, 탄화텅스텐, 산화 텅스텐 순으로 차폐성능이 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

전기증착법으로 제조된 다공성 텅스텐 산화물의 고대비 전기변색 특성 (High-Contrast Electrochromism of Porous Tungsten Oxide Thin Films Prepared by Electrodeposition)

  • In this study, we synthesize tungsten oxide thin films by electrodeposition and characterize their electrochromic properties. Depending on the deposition modes, compact and porous tungsten oxide films are fabricated on a transparent indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate. The morphology and crystal structure of the electrodeposited tungsten oxide thin films are investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is employed to verify the chemical composition and the oxidation state of the films. Compared to the compact tungsten oxides, the porous films show superior electrochemical activities with higher reversibility during electrochemical reactions. Furthermore, they exhibit very high color contrast (97.0%) and switching speed (3.1 and 3.2 s). The outstanding electrochromic performances of the porous tungsten oxide thin films are mainly attributed to the porous structure, which facilitates ion intercalation/deintercalation during electrochemical reactions.

초음파 볼밀링 공정에 의한 용매 점도 특성에 따른 텅스텐계 합금 분쇄 거동 (Investigation on Size Distribution of Tungsten-based Alloy Particles with Solvent Viscosity During Ultrasonic Ball Milling Process)

  • Tungsten heavy alloys (W-Ni-Fe) play an important role in various industries because of their excellent mechanical properties, such as the excellent hardness of tungsten, low thermal expansion, corrosion resistance of nickel, and ductility of iron. In tungsten heavy alloys, tungsten nanoparticles allow the relatively low-temperature molding of high-melting-point tungsten and can improve densification. In this study, to improve the densification of tungsten heavy alloy, nanoparticles are manufactured by ultrasonic milling of metal oxide. The physical properties of the metal oxide and the solvent viscosity are selected as the main parameters. When the density is low and the Mohs hardness is high, the particle size distribution is relatively high. When the density is high and the Mohs hardness is low, the particle size distribution is relatively low. Additionally, the average particle size tends to decrease with increasing viscosity. Metal oxides prepared by ultrasonic milling in high-viscosity solvent show an average particle size of less than 300 nm based on the dynamic light scattering and scanning electron microscopy analysis. The effects of the physical properties of the metal oxide and the solvent viscosity on the pulverization are analyzed experimentally.

에멀전증발법으로 제조된 미세 산화텅스텐 분말의 특성 (Characteristics of Fine WO3 Powders Prepared by Emulsion Evaporation)

  • Spherical fine powders of tungsten oxide powders were prepared by the emulsion evaporation method. The characteristics of the powders prepared were examined by means of TGA, X-ray diffraction, SEM and image analysis. The emulsions were prepared by fast mixing of aqueous phase containing tugsten and the organic phase which composed of kerosene, surfactant, and paraffin oil. Precursors were made by evaporating the emulsionin the kerosene bath at $160^{\circ}C$, and then calcined at $650^{\circ}C$ in order to produce tungsten oxide powders. The average particle size of the tungsten oxide powders was $0.5\mutextrm{m}$ and their shapes were spherical at the both case of w/o and o/w type emulsions. As the HLB value of the surfactant increased and the concentration of tungsten ions decreased the mean particle siqe of tungsten oxide powders decreased whereas agglomerationsize increased. The optimum concentration of Span 80 was 8 percent by volume, and the optimum stirring speed in the emulsion formation was 5000 rpm in order to obtain fine and well dispersed $WO_3$ powders.
