  • In this paper, we introduce the notion of generating index ${\mathcal{I}}_1(A)$ (2-generating index ${\mathcal{I}}_2(A)$, resp.) of a left-symmetric algebra A, which is the maximum of the dimensions of the subalgebras generated by any element (any two elements, resp.). We give a classification of left-symmetric algebras with ${\mathcal{I}}_1(A)=1$ and ${\mathcal{I}}_2(A)=2$, 3 resp., and show that all such algebras can be constructed by linear and bilinear functions. Such algebras can be regarded as a generalization of those relating to the integrable (generalized) Burgers equation.

  • For the general loading condition and boundary condition, it is very difficult to obtain closed-form solutions for buckling loads and natural frequencies of thin-walled structures because its behaviour is very complex due to the coupling effect of bending and torsional behaviour. Consequently most of previous finite element formulations introduced approximate displacement fields using shape functions as Hermitian polynomials, isoparametric interpoation function, and so on. The purpose of this study is to calculate the exact displacement field of a thin-walled straight beam element with the non-symmetric cross section and present a consistent derivation of the exact dynamic stiffness matrix. An exact dynamic element stiffness matrix is established from Vlasov's coupled differential equations for a uniform beam element of non-symmetric thin-walled cross section. This numerical technique is accomplished via a generalized linear eigenvalue problem by introducing 14 displacement parameters and a system of linear algebraic equations with complex matrices. The natural frequencies are evaluated for the non-symmetric thin-walled straight beam structure, and the results are compared with available solutions in order to verify validity and accuracy of the proposed procedures.

  • A characterization procedure for analyzing symmetric coupled MIS(Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor) transmission line is used the same procedure as a general single layer symmetric coupled line with perfect dielectric substrate from the extraction of the characteristic impedance and propagation constant for even- and odd-mode. In this paper, an analysis for a new substrate shielding symmetric coupled MIS structure consisting of grounded crossbar at the interface between Si and SiO2 layer using the Finite- Difference Time-Domain(FDTD) method is presented. In order to reduce the substrate effects on the transmission line characteristics, a shielding structure consisting of grounded crossbar lines over time-domain signal has been examined. Symmetric coupled MIS transmission line parameters for even- and odd-mode are investigated as the functions of frequency, and the extracted distributed frequency- dependent transmission line parameters and corresponding equivalent circuit parameters as well as quality factor for the new MIS crossbar embedded structure are also presented. It is shown that the quality factor of the symmetric coupled transmission line can be improved without significant change in the characteristic impedance and effective dielectric constant.

  • In the earlier application of the spline finite strip method(FSM), the uniform B3-spline functions were used in the longitudinal direction while the conventional interpolation functions were used in the transverse direction to construct the displacement filed in a strip. To overcome the shortcoming of the uniform B3-spline, non-periodic B-spline was developed as the displacement function. The use of non-periodic B3-spline function requires no tangential vectors at both ends to interpolate the geometry of shell and the Kronecker delta property is also satisfied at the end boundaries. Recently, non-periodic spline FSM which was modified to have a multiple knots at the boundary was developed for the shell analysis and applied to the analysis of bridges. In the formulation of a non-symmetric spline finite strip method, the concepts of non-periodic B3-spline and a stress-resultant finite strip with drilling degrees of freedom for a shell are used. The introduction of non-symmetrically spaced knots in the longitudinal direction allows the selective local refinement to improve the accuracy of solution at the connections or at the location of concentrated load. A number of numerical tests were performed to prove the accuracy and efficiency of the present study.

  • This study deals with the Lateral-Torsional Buckling (LTB) of a mono-symmetric tapered I-beam, in which the cross-section is varying longitudinally. To obtain the buckling moment, two concentrated bending moments should be applied at the two ends of the structure. This structure is made of Functionally Graded Material (FGM). The Young's and shear modules change linearly along the longitudinal direction of the beam. It is considered that this tapered beam is laterally restrained continuously, by using torsional springs. Furthermore, two rotational bending springs are employed at the two structural ends. To achieve the buckling moment, Ritz solution method is utilized. The response of critical buckling moment of the beam is obtained by minimizing the total potential energy relation. The lateral and torsional displacement fields of the beam are interpolated by harmonic functions. These functions satisfy the boundary conditions. Two different support conditions are considered in this study. The obtained formulation is validated by solving benchmark problems. Moreover, some numerical studies are implemented to show the accuracy, efficiency and high performance of the proposed formulation.

  • A digital calibration technique based on digital-domain averaging for cyclic ADC is proposed. The proposed calibration compensates for nonlinearity of ADC due to capacitance mismatch of capacitors in 1.5-bit/stage MDAC. A 1.5-bit/stage MDAC with non-matched capacitors has symmetric residue plots with respect to the ideal residue plot. This intrinsic characteristic of residue plot of MDAC is reflected as symmetric A/D transfer functions. A corrected A/D transfer function can be acquired by averaging two transfer functions with non-linearity, which are symmetric with respect to the ideal analog-digital transfer function. In order to implement the aforementioned averaging operation of analog-digital transfer functions, a 12-bit cyclic ADC of this work defines two operational modes of 1.5-bit/stage MDAC. By operating MDAC as the first operational mode, the cyclic ADC acquires 12.5-bits output code with nonlinearity. For the same sampled input analog voltage, the cyclic ADC acquires another 12.5-bits output code with nonlinearity by operating MDAC as the second operational mode. Since analog-digital transfer functions from each of operational mode of 1.5-bits/stage MDAC are symmetric with respect to the ideal analog-digital transfer function, a corrected 12-bits output code can be acquired by averaging two non-ideal 12.5-bits codes. The proposed digital calibration and 12-bit cyclic ADC are implemented by using a $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS process in the form of full custom. The measured SNDR(ENOB) and SFDR are 65.3dB (10.6bits) and 71.7dB, respectively. INL and DNL are measured to be -0.30/-0.33LSB and -0.63/+0.56LSB, respectively.

We derive some relations with this polynomials and the Stirling numbers of second kind and investigate some symmetric identities using special functions that are involving this polynomials.

  • The present research investigates the bounds of an integral operator for convex functions and a differentiable function f such that |f'| is convex. Further, these bounds of integral operators specifically produce estimations of various classical fractional and recently defined conformable integral operators. These results also contain bounds of Hadamard type for symmetric convex functions.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to give some new identities and properties related to Bernoulli type numbers and polynomials associated with the Bessel function of the first kind. We give symmetric properties of the Bernoulli type numbers and polynomials. Moreover, using generating functions and the Faà di Bruno's formula, we derive some new formulas and relations related to not only these polynomials, but also the Bernoulli numbers and polynomials and the Euler numbers and polynomials.
