  • Purpose: This study aimed to determine the correlation between uncertainty, self efficacy, social support, and self-care performance among liver transplant recipients. Methods: Participants comprised 111 liver transplant recipients who visited the outpatient clinic at the hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery department of a hospital in D city. Data were collected from September to October 2021 using self-report questionnaires, and were analyzed by the SPSS 23.0 program. Results: Self-care performance was correlated with uncertainty (r=-.31, p=.001), self efficacy (r=.22, p=.023), and social support (r=.38, p<.001). Conclusion: To improve self-care performance in liver transplant recipients, it is necessary to develop nursing interventions that can reduce uncertainty and enhance self efficacy and social support.

  • This study used Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) to test causal relationships among perceived social supports, self-control, and subjective well-being in a sample of 325 5th and 6th grade elementary school children. Correlations of observed variables showed statistically significant among perceived social support, self-control, and subjective well-being. The goodness-of-fit of the hypothetical structural model in the study, perceived social support having direct effects on self-control and subjective well-being, and self-control, retaining the influence of perceived social support, having effects on subjective well-being-showed fairly acceptable levels. The results revealed that perceived social supports increase children's subjective well-being, and these supports also increase children's self-control, which indirectly influences children's subjective well-being.

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine whether depression, self-esteem, and social support influence suicidal ideation among college students. Methods: Using a correlation study design, participants were recruited from two universities selected by convenience sampling. Data were collected from June 1, to August 31, 2014 from the 206 participants included in the study. The data were analyzed using SPSS / Win 18.0. Results: There was a significant correlation between depression, self esteem, social support, and suicidal ideation. Suicidal ideation was negatively correlated with self-esteem (r=-.64, p<.001) and social support (r=-.45, p<.001), while, suicidal ideation showed a positive correlation with depression (r=.69, p<.001). The significant predictors related to suicidal ideation were depression, self-esteem, and social support. The data were collected via a self-administered questionnaire from 453 male and female college students in Jecheon and analyzed by factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression, and t-test. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Value systems and clothing benefits classified into four factors respectively. 2. There existed significant differences according to gender in value system factors, social self-concept, appearance management behaviors and clothing benefit factors. 3. There existed correlations between value system factors and social self-concept. For male students, four factors of value system were correlated with social self-concept. But only one factor(pursuit of peaceful and secure life) was correlated with social self-concept for female students. 4. • This study examined the mediating effect of self-concept on the relationship of peer victimization and social anxiety in middle school students. Study participants consisted of 235 (122 boys and 113 girls) first to third graders from three middle schools located in Seoul and Gyung-gi province. The School Violence Experience Scale and the Self-Concept Scale were used to measure research variables in the Korean version of Social Anxiety Scale for adolescents. Descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation coefficients were calculated to examine the general tendency of study variables. In addition, structural equation modeling(SEM) was used to examine the mediating model. The study results were as follows. First, the level of peer victimization of the middle school students decreased the self-concept level; in addition, the self-concept level had a significant negative effect on the social anxiety level. Second, the self-concept level fully mediated the peer victimization and social anxiety relationship. In conclusion, a higher peer victimization level resulted in a lower self-concept level, that produced a higher social anxiety level in middle school students. The results suggested that implementing effective interventions to prevent peer victimization and encouraging a positive self-concept in middle school students would make a significant contribution to reducing social anxiety.

To this end, the study chose self-efficacy as an intervening variable and OCB as a dependent variable by considering the characteristics of social welfare organizations and their works. The study found that empowering leadership has a significantly positive impact on self-efficacy while both self-efficacy and empowering leadership have a significantly positive impact on OCB. Self-efficacy has meditating effects on the relationship between empowering leadership and OCB. Based on these results, the study suggests policy implications for the improvement of social workers' self- efficacy and OCB through empowering leadership in social welfare centers.

  • Relationships between peer acceptance, peer victimization, and self-esteem in adolescents were examined in a sample of 392 eighth grade students(189 boys and 203 girls). Data were collected using questionnaires regarding peer acceptance(social preference and social status), peer victimization, and self-esteem of adolescents. High social preference was positively related to self-esteem. Social preference varied as a function of social status both in boys and in girls. Popular boys had higher self-esteem than neglected and rejected boys; popular girls had higher self-esteem than neglected girls, who had higher self-esteem than rejected girls. The more boys and girls were victimized by peers, the lower their self-esteem. The higher their social preference, the less they were victimized. Rejected boys and girls experienced peer victimization much more than either popular or neglected boys and girls.
