  • In a uniformly convex Banach space, we introduce a iterative scheme for a finite family of asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings and utilize a new inequality to prove several convergence results for the iterative sequence. The results generalize and unify many important known results of relevant scholars.

  • In this paper, a strong convergence theorem of multi-step iterative schemes with errors for asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive type nonself mappings is established in a real uniformly convex Banach space. Our results extend the corresponding results of Wangkeeree [12], Xu and Noor [13], Kim et al.[1,6,7] and many others.

  • In this paper, a new one-step iterative scheme with error for approximating common fixed points of asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive type nonself-mappings in Banach space is defined. The results obtained in this paper extend and improve the recent ones, announced by H. Y. Zhou, Y. J. Cho, and S. M. Kang [Zhou et al.,(2007), namely, A new iterative algorithm for approximating common fixed points for asymptotically non-expansive mappings, published to Fixed Point Theory and Applications 2007 : 1-9], and many others.

  • We obtain the convergence of three-step iteration methods and generalized three-step iteration methods for quasi-contractive and generalized quasi-contractive mappings, respectively, in Banach spaces. Our results extend the corresponding results in [1], [4]-[6].

  • It is our purpose in this paper to first establish an inequality in real uniformly smooth Banach spaces with modulus of smoothness of power type q > 1 that generalizes a well known Hilbert space inequality. Using our inequality, we shall then extend the above result of Qihou [15] on the Ishikawa iteration process from Hilbert spaces to these much more general Banach spaces. Furthermore, we shall prove that the Mann iteration process converges strongly to the unique fixed point of a quasi-contractive map in this general setting. No compactness assumption on K is required in our theorems.

  • In an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space, the normal Mann iteration has only weak convergence, in general, even for nonexpansive mappings. The purpose of this paper is to modify the normal Mann iteration to have strong convergence for a closed quasi-$\phi$-nonexpansive mapping in the framework of Banach spaces.

  • Recently, Taji [7] and Harms et al. [4] studied the regularized gap function of QVI analogous to that of VI by Fukushima [2]. Discussions are made in a finite dimensional Euclidean space. In this note, an infinite dimensional generalization is considered in the framework of a reflexive Banach space. To do so, we introduce an extended quasi-variational inequality problem (in short, EQVI) and a generalized regularized gap function of EQVI. Then we investigate some basic properties of it. Our results may be regarded as an infinite dimensional extension of corresponding results due to Taji [7].

  • In this paper, we study multi-step iterative algorithm with errors and give the necessary and sufficient condition to converge to com mon fixed points for a finite family of asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive type mappings in Banach spaces. Also we have proved a strong convergence theorem to converge to common fixed points for a finite family said mappings on a nonempty compact convex subset of a uniformly convex Banach spaces. Our results extend and improve the corresponding results of [2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 20].

  • In this work we discuss "plank problems" for complex Banach spaces and in particular for the classical $L^{p}(\mu)$ spaces. In the case $1\;{\leq}\;p\;{\leq}\;2$ we obtain optimal results and for finite dimensional complex Banach spaces, in a special case, we have improved an early result by K. Ball [3]. By using these results, in some cases we are able to find best possible lower bounds for the norms of homogeneous polynomials which are products of linear forms. In particular, we give an estimate in the case of a real Hilbert space which seems to be a difficult problem. We have also obtained some results on the so-called n-th (linear) polarization constant of a Banach space which is an isometric property of the space. Finally, known polynomial inequalities have been derived as simple consequences of various results related to plank problems.

  • In this paper we investigate the Hyers-Ulam stability of the s-variable additive and l-variable quadratic functional equations of the form $$f\(\sum\limits_{i=1}^{s}x_i\)+\sum\limits_{j=1}^{s}f\(-sx_j+\sum\limits_{i=1,i{\neq}j}^{s}x_i\)=0$$ and $$f\(\sum\limits_{i=1}^{l}x_i\)+\sum\limits_{j=1}^{l}f\(-lx_j+\sum\limits_{i=1,i{\neq}j}^{l}x_i\)=(l+1)$$$\sum\limits_{i=1,i{\neq}j}^{l}f(x_i-x_j)+(l+1)\sum\limits_{i=1}^{l}f(x_i)$ (s, l ∈ N, s, l ≥ 3) in quasi-Banach spaces.
