The present study analyzes the stability of waterfront quay wall under the combined action of earthquake and tsunami. Adopting the limit equilibrium method, the stability of waterfront quay wall is checked for both the sliding and overturning. Forces due to tsunami are compared with the proposed formula and the 3-D one-field Model for immiscible TWO-Phase flows (TWOPM-3D). Variations of the stability of wall are also proposed by the parametric study including tsunami water height, horizontal seismic acceleration coefficient, internal friction angle of soil, friction angle between the wall and the soil and the pore water pressure ratio. The present study about the stability of wall is also compared with the case when earthquake and tsunami are not considered. As a result, the result of numerical analysis about the tsunami force is similar to that of proposed formula. When earthquake and tsunami are simultaneously considered, the stability of wall in passive case significantly decreases and tsunami forces in active case are affected as a resistance force on the wall and so the stability of wall increases.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the behavioral characteristics of elementary second graders depending on SL-BIS/BAS (Behavioral Inhibition/Activation System about Science Learning) in science learning situation. For this study, 20 second grade students participated. This study followed a phenomenological research method, a form of qualitative research. As the results show, students who have a sensitive motivation system to SL-BIS directly expressed their disappointment of the result and easily get distracted in class when they failed in science learning activity. They participated in group work passively, for example, they interacted less in the group or avoided answering questions. Even though the students have a lot of questions that were usually simple, empty or repetitive words. They have within themselves the good will of challenging difficult experiment that was their only expression of passive will. The students have a tendency to be dependent on their friends in an experiment, making it unlikely that they preferred group work from the beginning. Otherwise, students who have sensitive motivation system to SL-BAS endured science learning activity to the end regardless of the negative result. In particular, they were enthusiastically working on home-school materials. When the students succeeded in the experiment, they responded to the cheers and openly expressed their feeling. They were satisfied with their achievement. The students have more desire for in-depth activity. Their questions were more progressive, specific and expanded. They showed a strong desire to challenge difficult experiment and preferred to interact with their group members to help each other. Based on the results, they were limited but we could find that the behavioral characteristics of second grade students in science learning situations can be predicted with a score of SL-BIS/BAS t.

We are seeing a shift of the focus of information service from system-centered(data-centered or intermediary-centered) a n.0, pproach to user-centered a n.0, pproach. Sense-making theory is one of the user- centered a n.0, pproaches. This study focused on user-centered information service paradigm concepts of Dervin's sense-making theory and interpreting sense-making theory in the practical context of library services. The sense-making theory is basically a cognitive a n.0, pproach to information-seeking, in that it recognizes information as something that involves internal cognitive processes. The user of information becomes the focus in this sense-making model. The sense-making theory sees information as subjective, situational, and cognitive. It focuses on understanding information within specific contexts and on understanding how information needs develop and how they are satisfied. It regards the user not as a passive receive of external information but as the center in a active, ongoing process of change. It related to the information needs of users. Dervin's method for studying information needs employs the 'situation-gap-use' metaphor. All information needs stem from a discontinuity or 'gap! in one's knowledge. Dervin believes that information needs can be addressed by understanding the process that each individual goes through in experiencing a gap, in trying to resolve it, and in gaining something (especially new knowledge) from the experience. Sense-making is a process; 'sense' is the product of this process. Sense includes 'knowledge'. However, it includes a host of other subjective factors that reflect an individual's interpretations of a situation including intuitions, opinions, hunches, effective responses, evaluations, questions, etc. For several reasons, however, difficulties are encountered if one attempts a more substantial assessment of the theory. First, it has not yet crystallized into a well-defined theory. Secondly, though the theory has aroused general interest, e.g. within LIS, detailed discussion of its strong and weak points is still lacking. A third source of difficulty is that the basic assumptions of the theory have been explicated metaphorically. If sense-making theory is to be really useful, it needs to be interpreted for library settings. But we have found no attempt to construct an information service based on the theory. Because the research tradition is still relatively young, there are many unanswered questions connected, e.g. with the design of information systems. In any case, e.g. intermediary access systems would be more efficient and effective it their planning could be founded on the user-centered a n.0, pproach.

Generally, trees lining the streets are the most easily accessible green areas in the city and constitute the smallest basic unit in the formation of the urban linear green axis. This study attempts to interpret issues related to city trees from a comprehensive and relational viewpoint. The site of this study is Central Park Street in front of Incheon Metropolitan City Hall. This street is representative of those in Incheon City. This study is an inter-relational interpretation of issues by measuring the vitality of these trees. The following are results of this study: First, the vitality of city trees is higher in those trees growing in natural ground than those growing in plant gratings. This observation can lead to budget savings and increased natural areas in the city. Also, if planter and multi-layering planting methods are introduced where damage to trees is predicted, variation to urban landscape can be achieved while linking to reinforced rearing foundation of street-side trees. Second, there is need for a holistic approach to caring for street-side trees regarding the damage caused by drastic pruning and strong street lights. The typical functions of these trees, like supplying freshness in summer, absorbing solar radiation, and controlling the urban micro-climate are closely related to the vitality of the trees. Accordingly, the function and ecology should be understood holistically, not separately. In this aspect, the functional and ecological use of the multi-layering planting method is effective in protecting pedestrians from vehicles as well. Third, the fallen leaves of monotonous rows of trees have different ecological and functional effects. Not only is the index of greenness in the urban setting increased, but there are also aesthetic and symbolic effects. Fourth, in spite of being the street along which Incheon Metropolitan City Hall, major administrative buildings and Central Park are located, this street does not have its own special identity to discriminate it from other streets. It fulfills only functional criteria based on uniformity. If there is no paradigm shift from today's street system based on vehicles, the role of landscape architecture will be very passive in regards to street-side trees, the minimum unit of urban green. Fifth, on this particular street, many trees were planted in December, which reflects a deficiency of short and long-term strategy, like a street-tree master plan. In this aspect, we still lack a mature culture concerning these trees as a basic unit in urban greenery. Furthermore, there needs to be cultural introspection concerning present administrative practices.

In this paper, a low-power 1Kb synchronous EEPROM is designed with flash cells for passive UHF RFID tag chips. To make a low-power EEPROM, four techniques are newly proposed. Firstly, dual power supply voltages VDD(1.5V) and VDDP(2.5V), are used. Secondly, CKE signal is used to remove switching current due to clocking of synchronous circuits. Thirdly, a low-speed but low-power sensing scheme using clocked inverters is used instead of the conventional current sensing method. Lastly, the low-voltage, VDD for the reference voltage generator is supplied by using the Voltage-up converter in write cycle. An EEPROM is fabricated with the $0.25{\mu}m$ EEPROM process. Simulation results show that power dissipations are $4.25{\mu}W$ in the read cycle and $25{\mu}W$ in the write cycle, respectively. The layout area is $646.3\times657.68{\mu}m^2$.

This paper describes a low-power baseband circuit for SAW-less LTE-Advanced transmitters. The proposed transmitter baseband circuit consists of a 2nd-order Tow-Thomas type active RC-LPF and a 1st-order passive RC LPF. It can provide a 7 multi-channel cut-off frequencies and wide gain control range of -41 dB ~ 0 dB with a 1-dB step. The proposed 2nd-order active RC-LPF adopts an op-amp in which three other sub-op amps are in parallel connected to reduce DC current for different cutoff frequency. In addition, each sub-op amp adopts both Miller and feed-forward phase compensation method to achieve an UGBW of more than 1-GHz with a small DC power consumption. The proposed baseband circuit is implemented in 65-nm CMOS technology, consuming DC power from 6.3 mW to 24.1 mW from a 1.2V supply voltage for each different cut-off frequency.
The Web plays an important role as information source and most Web applications are document-centric. A document implies an intention of its own designer, which can be utilized actively in automation of business processes. Through an understanding of an intrinsic nature of a document function, we can see a document as an executable computer program in a special case. For this approach, we propose an active document model that is composed of form, knowledge base, rules, and queries. For reusability and interoperability of a document, each component of the proposed model is uniformly represented in XML. The proposed active document not only plays a passive role in providing user interfaces, but also is a document that a machine can infer and process with reading a procedure of document processing and business rules intended by document designers. Through this approach, document can interact with machines and can cooperate with other applications. For applicability of our active document, we show a case study for the processing of purchase orders in a B2B e-Commerce system. This paper is expected to provide the framework of accelerating the development of intelligent applications through our approach regards form document as a computer program. In short, the proposed active document contains knowledge representation and processing method, consequently our document will play an important role in providing a concept of document of pursuing in Semantic Web.
The main purpose of this prospective longitudinal study was to evaluate, according to a standard clinical classification and assessment method, the effect of a standardized manual stretching and therapeutic massage program on patients with clearly defined congenital muscular torticollis. A total of 52 cases of congenital muscular torticollis who were first seen when they were less than one year old and were treated with conservative physical therapy. Before treatment, the patients were divided into one of three clinical groups: (1) sternomastoid tumor group, (2) muscular torticollis group, and (3) postural torticollis group. Of the 52 patients, 32 (61.5%) made up the sternomastoid tumor group; 15 (28.9%) the muscular torticollis group; and 5 (9.6%) the postural torticollis group. Multivariate analysis of the outcomes showed that the duration of treatment was significantly differentiated according to the clinical group (p<0.01), age at presentation (p<0.01), and a passive rotation deficit of the neck (p<0.01). The current study showed that well controlled conservative physical therapy is safe and effective in the treatment of congenital torticollis in about 84.6% of patients who are first seen before the age of one year.
This study is to present an improvement of facility security through the evaluation of facility security operation level. To fulfill the purpose of the study, a survey of some facilities was conducted and the result was analyzed as follows; First, although security personnels were deployed in the facilities, the level of security personnel operation was relatively low. Second, job education training level was relatively proper, that is relevant to the result that show the level of service mind and the working mind of security personnel were proper, also relevant to the relatively good work shift system. Third, although situation room was operated well, the level of restricted area set-up and access control of visitor were low, and the level of article inspection and vehicle access control were very low. Forth, the level of security manual application that include detailed security method and procedure was proper. But accident prevention and response manual application was lower than security manual application, that show preparation for fire and negligent-accident is passive. For the improvement of facility security, the high level part and low level part in the survey result could be merged. For example, we could specify factors that show low level in the survey such as security personnel operation, access control of visitor and vehicle, article inspection, accident prevention and response in the security manual and promote education circumstance that show high level.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine the exposure levels of forklift operators to diesel engine exhaust(DEE) using black carbon(BC), elemental carbon(EC), and nitrogen dioxide($NO_2$) as indicators. Methods: A total of eight forklift operators in six collection companies were assessed over a period of two months from July to September 2015. BC was measured using a real-time monitor and respirable EC samples were analyzed using the NIOSH method 5040. $NO_2$ samples were collected using a passive badge-type sampler. Results: The geometric mean of BC, EC and $NO_2$ were $3.1-19.1{\mu}g/m^3$, $2.1-23.8{\mu}g/m^3$, and 12.5-166.6 ppb at all companies. When forklifts were operating both outside and inside, BC concentrations increased 2.0-5.6 times. The highest increase was observed when forklifts were operating indoors. The increase in BC concentrations varied by company(company A: 2.0 times, B: 3.2 times, C: 5.6 times, D: 2.1 times, E: 5.1 times, F: 2.6 times). The geometric mean of BC, EC, and $NO_2$ for the forklift operators was $9.6{\mu}g/m^3$, $7.9{\mu}g/m^3$, and 48.9 ppb, respectively. The geometric mean of BC, EC, and $NO_2$ for manufacturing workers was $9.3{\mu}g/m^3$, $0.9{\mu}g/m^3$, and 85.2 ppb, respectively. The mean BC and EC exposure levels for the forklift operators were slightly higher than those for manufacturing workers, but $NO_2$ levels for manufacturing workers were higher than those for the forklift operators(p>0.05). Multiple regression analysis revealed that diesel exhaust emissions standard, forklift weight and forklift manufacturer were the most influential factors in determining worker exposure. Conclusions: In the DEE work environment, workers who perform tasks within the workplace as well as inside forklifts as operators are likely to be exposed to a lack of ventilation. Further study of forklift operators' exposure to DEE indicators should be conducted to include a wider range of occupational and environmental situations, such as collection procedures, seasonal situations, types of fuel used, and number of forklifts.
