  • In this paper, we consider approximation of eigenelements of a two dimensional compact integral operator with a smooth kernel by discrete collocation and iterated discrete collocation methods. By choosing numerical quadrature appropriately, we obtain convergence rates for gap between the spectral subspaces, and also we obtain superconvergence rates for eigenvalues and iterated eigenvectors. We then apply Richardson extrapolation to obtain further improved error bounds for the eigenvalues. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate theoretical estimates.

  • The essential aim of this paper is to define weighted $q$-Hardylittlewood-type maximal operator by means of $p$-adic $q$-invariant distribution on $\mathbb{Z}_p$. Moreover, we give some interesting properties concerning this type maximal operator.

  • The Fuglede-Putnam Theorem is that if A and B are normal operators and X is an operator such that AX = XB, then $A^{\ast}= X. In this paper, we show that if A is $\omega$-hyponormal and $B^{\ast}$ is invertible $\omega$-hyponormal such that AX = XB for a Hilbert-Schmidt operator X, then $A^{\ast}X = XB^{\ast}$.

  • We study the properties of the transversal Killing and twistor spinors for a Riemannian foliation with a transverse spin structure. And we investigate the relations between them. As an application, we give a new lower bound for the eigenvalues of the basic Dirac operator by using the transversal twistor operator.

  • Let X be a real Banach space with norm vertical bar . vertical bar and let I denote the identity operator. Then an operator A.contnd.X*X with domain D(A) and range R(A) is said to be accretive if vertical bar x$_{1}$-x$_{2}$ vertical bar.leq.vertical bar x$_{1}$-x$_{2}$+r(y$_{1}$-y$_{2}$) vertical bar for all y$_{i}$.mem.Ax$_{i}$, i=1, 2, and r>0. An accretive operator A.contnd.X*X is m-accretive if R(I+rA)=X for all r>0.r>0.

  • In the present paper we define a q-extension of the Leibniz rule for q-derivatives via Weyl type q-derivative operator. Expansions and summation formulae for the generalized basic hypergeometric functions of one and more variables are deduced as the applications of the main result.

  • By using the generalized operator method given by Burchnall and Chaundy in 1940, the authors present one-dimensional inverse pairs of symbolic operators. Many operator identities involving these pairs of symbolic operators are rst constructed. By means of these operator identities, 11 decomposition formulas for the generalized hypergeometric $_4F_3$ function are then given. Furthermore, the integral representations associated with generalized hypergeometric functions are also presented.

  • An operator T on a complex Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ is called skew symmetric if T can be represented as a skew symmetric matrix relative to some orthonormal basis for $\mathcal{H}$. In this note, we explore the structure of skew symmetric operators with disconnected spectra. Using the classical Riesz decomposition theorem, we give a decomposition of certain skew symmetric operators with disconnected spectra. Several corollaries and illustrating examples are provided.
