  • We find all distinct representatives of isomorphism classes of genus-3 pointed trigonal curves and compute the number of isomorphism classes of a special class of genus-3 pointed trigonal curves including that of Picard curves over a finite field F of characteristic 2.

  • L. H. Encinas, A. J. Menezes, and J. M. Masque in [2] proposed a classification of isomorphism classes of hyperelliptic curve of genus 2 over finite fields with characteristic different from 2 and 5. Y. Choie and D. • Let n be a fixed natural number. Menger algebras of rank n can be regarded as a canonical generalization of arbitrary semigroups. This paper is concerned with studying algebraic properties of Menger algebras of rank n by first defining a special class of full n-place functions, the so-called a left translation, which possess necessary and sufficient conditions for an (n + 1)-groupoid to be a Menger algebra of rank n. The isomorphism parts begin with introducing the concept of homomorphisms, and congruences in Menger algebras of rank n. These lead us to establish a quotient structure consisting a nonempty set factored by such congruences together with an operation defined on its equivalence classes. Finally, the fundamental homomorphism theorem and isomorphism theorems for Menger algebras of rank n are given. As a consequence, our results are significant in the study of algebraic theoretical Menger algebras of rank n. Furthermore, we extend the usual notions of ordinary semigroups in a natural way.

  • This paper is a contribution to the study of the isomorphism problems for algebras. Among the isomorphism problems, that of global determination is investigated here. That is, our investigation of the problems is concerned with the question whether two algebras are isomorphic when their globals are isomorphic. The answer is not always affirmative. The counterexample, due to E. M. Mogiljanskaja, is the class of all infinite semigroups. But T. Tamura and J. Shafer [6] proved that the class of all groups is globally determined and announced the same result for the class of rectangular bands. Vazenin [7] proved that for any set X, the transformation semigroup $T_{X}$ must be isomorphic to any semigroup S for any P(S)$\simeq$P($T_{X}/TEX>).(omitted)

  • The problems of the continuity of homomorphisms between Banach algebras have been studied widely for the last two decades to obtain various fruitful results, yet it is far from characterizing the calss of Banach algebras for which each homomorphism from a member of the class into a Banach algebra is conitnuous. For commutative Banach algebras A and B a simple proof shows that every homomorphism .theta. from A into B is continuous provided that B is semi-simple, however, with a non semi-simple Banach algebra B examples of discontinuous homomorphisms from C(K) into B have been constructed by Dales [6] and Esterle [7]. For non commutative Banach algebras the problems of automatic continuity of homomorphisms seem to be much more difficult. Many positive results and open questions related to this subject may be found in [1], [3], [5] and [8], in particular most recent development can be found in the Lecture Note which contains [1]. It is well-known that a$^{*}$-isomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra into another $C^{*}$-algebra is an isometry, and an isomorphism of a Banach algebra into a $C^{*}$-algebra with self-adjoint range is continuous. But a$^{*}$-isomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra into an involutive Banach algebra is norm increasing [9], and one can not expect each of such isomorphisms to be continuous. In this note we discuss an isomorphism from a commutative $C^{*}$-algebra into a commutative Banach algebra with dense range via separating space. It is shown that such an isomorphism .theta. : A.rarw.B is conitnuous and maps A onto B is B is semi-simple, discontinuous if B is not semi-simple.

  • Following Matsumoto's definition of continuous orbit equivalence for one-sided subshifts of finite type, we introduce the notion of orbit equivalence to canonically associated dynamical systems, called the limit dynamical systems, of self-similar groups. We show that the limit dynamical systems of two self-similar groups are orbit equivalent if and only if their associated Deaconu groupoids are isomorphic as topological groupoids. We also show that the equivalence class of Cuntz-Pimsner groupoids and the stably isomorphism class of Cuntz-Pimsner algebras of self-similar groups are invariants for orbit equivalence of limit dynamical systems.

  • Let K be an imaginary quadratic field with K its ring of integers. For a positive integer N, let K(N) be the ray class field of K modulo NK, and let N be the field of meromorphic modular functions of level N whose Fourier coefficients lie in the Nth cyclotomic field. For each h ∈ N, we construct a ray class invariant as its special value in terms of the extended form class group, and show that the invariant satisfies the natural transformation formula via the Artin map in the sense of Siegel and Stark. Finally, we establish an isomorphism between the extended form class group and Gal(K(N)/K) without any restriction on K.

  • n-ary $H_v$-structures is a generalisation of both n-ary structures and $H_v$-structures. A wide class of n-ary $P-H_v$-groups is the n-ary $P-H_v$-groups that is concidered in this paper. In this paper the notion of a normal subgroup of an n-ary $P-H_v$-groups is introduced and the isomorphism theorems for n-ary $P-H_v$-groups are stated and proved. Also some examples and related properties are investigated.
