  • It is known that the maximal invariant set of a continuous iterative dynamical system in a compact Hausdorff space is equal to the intersection of its forward image sets, which we will call the first minimal image set. In this article, we investigate the corresponding relation for a class of discontinuous self maps that are on the verge of continuity, or topologically almost continuous endomorphisms. We prove that the iterative dynamics of a topologically almost continuous endomorphisms yields a chain of minimal image sets that attains a unique transfinite length, which we call the maximal invariance order, as it stabilizes itself at the maximal invariant set. We prove the converse, too. Given ordinal number ξ, there exists a topologically almost continuous endomorphism f on a compact Hausdorff space X with the maximal invariance order ξ. We also discuss some further results regarding the maximal invariance order as more layers of topological restrictions are added.

  • This paper provides an efficient model predictive control for the output voltage control of three-phase inverter system which includes output LC filters. Use of SVPWM (Space Vector Pulse-Width-Modulation) and the rotating d-q frame is made to obtain an input constrained dynamic model of the inverter system. From the measured/estimated output current and reference output voltage, corresponding equilibrium values of the inductor current and the control input are computed. Derivation of a feasible and invariant set around the equilibrium state is made and then a receding horizon strategy which steers the current state deep into the invariant set is proposed. In order to remove offset error, use of disturbance observer is made in the form of state estimator. The efficacy of the proposed method is verified through simulations.

  • This paper gives some sufficient conditions for a given polyhedral set which is represented as a set of linear inequalities to be positive D-invariant for uncertain linear discrete-time systems in the case such that the systems matrices depend linearly on uncertain parameters whose ranges are given intervals. Further, the results will be applied to uncertain linear continuous systems in the sense of the above by using Euler approximation.

  • All rings considered here are commutative rings with identity and all modules considered here are unital left modules. A submodule N of an R-module M is said to be extended to M if $N=aM$ for some ideal a of R and it is said to be fully invariant if ${\varphi}(L){\subseteq}L$ for every ${\varphi}{\in}End(M)$. An R-module M is called a [resp., fully invariant] multiplication module if every [resp., fully invariant] submodule is extended to M. The class of fully invariant multiplication modules is bigger than the class of multiplication modules. We deal with prime submodules and associated prime submodules of fully invariant multiplication modules. In particular, when M is a nonzero faithful multiplication module over a Noetherian ring, we characterize the zero-divisors of M in terms of the associated prime submodules, and we show that the set Aps(M) of associated prime submodules of M determines the set $Zdv_M(M)$ of zero-dvisors of M and the support Supp(M) of M.

  • By the works of Levine [2] and Rolfsen [5], [6], it is known that a local move called a crossing-change is strongly related to the Alexander invariant. In this note, we will consider to what degree the relationship is strong. Let K be a knot, and $K^{\times}$ the set of knots obtained from a knot K by a single crossing-change. Let MK be the Alexander invariant of a knot K, and MK the set of the Alexander invariants $\{MK\}_{K{\in}\mathcal{K}}$ for a set of knots $\mathcal{K}$. Our main result is the following: If both $K_1$ and $K_2$ are knots with unknotting number one, then $MK_1=MK_2$ implies $MK_1^{\times}=MK_2^{\times}$. On the other hand, there exists a pair of knots $K_1$ and $K_2$ such that $MK_1=MK_2$ and $MK_1^{\times}{\neq}MK_2^{\times}$. In other words, the Gordian complex is not homogeneous with respect to Alexander invariants.

  • In this study, we proposed a method for electroencephalogram (EEG) classification using invariant CSP at special channels for improving the accuracy of classification. Based on the naive EEG signals from left and right hand movement experiment, the noises of contaminated data set should be eliminate and the proposed method can deal with the de-noising of data set. The considering data set are collected from the special channels for right and left hand movements around the motor cortex area. The proposed method is based on the fit of the adjusted parameter to decline the affect of invariant parts in raw signals and can increase the classification accuracy. We have run the simulation for hundreds time for each parameter and get averaged value to get the last result for comparison. The experimental results show the accuracy is improved more than the original method, the highest result reach to 89.74%.

  • In this paper, we discuss the crossing change operation along exchangeable double curves of a surface-knot diagram. We show that under certain condition, a finite sequence of Roseman moves preserves the property of those exchangeable double curves. As an application for this result, we also define a numerical invariant for a set of surface-knots called du-exchangeable set.

  • In this work, using the exact separatrix map which provides an efficient way to describe dynamics near the separatrix, we study the stochastic layer near the separatrix of a one-degree-of-freedom Hamilitonian system with time periodic perturbation. Applying the twist map theory to the exact separatrix map, T. Ahn, G. I. Kim and S. Kim proved the existence of the uniformly hyperbolic invariant set(UHIS) near separatrix. Using the theorems of Bowen and Franks, we prove this UHIS has measure zero.
