A study measuring university educational service quality using importance-satisfaction transformed index (중요도-만족도 변환지수를 이용한 대학 교육서비스 품질 측정 연구)

  • Today, as the number of applicants for admission decreases, competition among universities is deepening in Korea. Especially, the existence of local universities has led to intense competition to increase the enrollment rate of new students and reduce dropout rate. To survive in this competition, local universities are making various efforts; however, the primary problem is improving their educational service quality. In this study, we have developed a device to measure educational service quality which can be applied to the field of higher education, and factors that determine educational service quality are dragged through this device. In addition, this research identifies which statistically significant factors play a part in overall satisfaction and word of mouth effect, and interprets 29 quality attributes using importance-satisfaction transformed index.

Analysis of the Composition Concept of Education Service Quality of Beauty Major University (뷰티전공 대학의 교육서비스품질 구성개념 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the concept of composition of educational service quality through two integrated research methods of open questionnaires and focus group interviews for college students majoring in beauty. Participants in the study majored in beauty at 2-year and 4-year universities nationwide. The enrolled students were set as a population, and 250 people were adopted as a random sampling method and used for the survey. The series of results are as follows. First, as a result of inductive content analysis of open questionnaires, the educational service quality of beauty majors was derived into five areas: major knowledge, educational quality, professor-student intimacy, student needs reflection, usability, curriculum composition, environmental efficiency, educational equipment, and reputation. Second, as a result of the focus group interview, inductive content analysis was more reasonably pointed out and derived in depth. As a result of this study, it is believed that it can be used as basic data for the development of measurement tools for educational service quality of beauty majors.

  • Improving the quality of teaching staff in universities is an important goal of most universities. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the factors affecting the quality improvement of lecturers at universities. There are many factors affecting the improvement of this quality of human resources. This article uses the survey method to assess the factors affecting the improvement of the quality of lecturers in education and training institutions of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam. Currently, the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam has 4 educational institutions. The research team has assessed the impact factors at these 4 facilities. The research team conducted a survey for faculty members of the Ministry of Transport. The result was 446 votes. The authors have performed factor evaluation by multivariate regression model. The influencing factors include Professional competence, the virtue of teaching staff, scientific research capacity, participating in building a democratic educational environment, Professional support policy, Instructor's income, and Information technology support. Research results show that most of the factors have a positive impact on improving the quality of lecturers. Based on the survey results, the authors also make policy suggestions to further improve the quality of teaching staff of the schools in the coming time.

  • Globalization, development of the information society, intensification of migration processes, and internationalization of education in recent years have significantly affected the international labour market and increased competition between professionals in various fields. Academic, research and teaching staff are currently facing rapid changes and growing demand for quality educational services. Under such conditions, educational institutions around the world pay particular attention to improving the quality of the educational process in order for their graduates to be able to compete in the international labour market. The study of the experience of teachers' professional training in advanced countries opens new opportunities for improving the system of pedagogical training in Ukraine in order to adapt it to the requirements of the European educational space. The progressive achievements of countries demonstrating a high level of teachers' professional training in accordance with international standards, having rich historical educational traditions are of considerable scientific interest; consequently, this contributes to their leadership in science and education at the regional and global levels. The purpose of the present academic paper lies in analysing the latest trends in exploring teaching experience in the European countries and performance review of passing by students and teachers of the program on studying of pedagogical practice and experience of teaching in the countries of Europe. Methodology. Analytical and empirical (questionnaire) methods were used in the research process. Results. According to the obtained results of the research, the advantages, the most common areas of educational programs and the wishes of the participants regarding the practical implementation of the experience were identified.

  • TQM which has been applied to the industry area is widely accepted to the non-for-profit area and public sector. Especially educational institution including university and college has adopted TQM as a competitive weapon in several developed countries such as United States and United Kingdom. But there is no interest in the Korean educational area except for several colleges which have got ISO 9000 certification. In this study, we analyzed several best-practiced foreign colleges which have applied TQM to improve their competitiveness. Also, we tried to explore the applicability of TQM to the Korean educational area by developing TQM model for 'S' college.

  • These days, good-quality multimedia educational data are exceedingly needed for ICT(Information and Communication Technology)-based instruction in elementary and secondary schools. In order to produce high quality multimedia educational data, it is important to design a series of development process and conduct a coherent examination. This paper presents a process of developing multimedia educational data and provides systematic assessment standards with respect to each step in which an evaluation is required. The step-by-step assessment standards may serve as a guideline in managing and monitoring the entire developmental process of multimedia educational data.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of educational satisfaction on the school conversion intention according to the quality of university education service. To survey the perception of students majoring in Department of Beauty on both colleges and universities of beauty education, we distributed 600 questionnaires and utilized them as final analysis data except for 60 unreturned or defective papers. As a result of t-test and one-way ANOVA, there were differences among university education service quality, education satisfaction and school transfer intention. In addition, the effect of the quality of education service on the education service, the effect of the quality of education service on the school conversion intention, and the quality of the university education service influenced the school conversion intention. The results of this study suggest that, for the development of the beauty education, priority should be given to the facilities and equipments related to the beauty education as well as the importance of leadership and professional teachers and instructors.

  • The purpose of this investigate the effect of the educational institution service quality f the government-supported beauty-related educational institution on the students' perceived usefulness and career preparation behavior. Participations in the study collected 362 students at a government-funded educational institution located in Seoul and Gyeon-ggi by a convenience sampling method. The collected data was analyzed through descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS statistical package version 26.0 version. The results derived through a series of research procedures are as follows: First, educational service quality, perceived usefulness and career preparation behavior showed a statistically significant positive(+) correlation. Second, it was found that educational service quality had a statistically significant positive(+) effect on perceived usefulness. Third, the educational service quality showed a positive(+) influence on the career preparation behavior of information collection activities and job preparation activities. Fourth, the perceived usefulness was found to have a statistically significant positive(+) effect on the career preparation behavior of the information collection activities ad job preparation activities. The results of this research can be used as basic data to increase the efficiency of beauty-related government funding projects by evaluating the quality of education services of state-funded beauty related educational institutions.

A study on care, infection management and education for quality management of dental care of elderly patients by dental hygienists (치과위생사의 노인환자 치과치료 질 관리를 위한 케어, 감염 관리 및 교육에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated factors affecting care for elderly patients, management of systemic disease, infection management, improvement of medical care quality, and educational requirements, and provide basic data for quality care for elderly patients with systemic diseases. An online survey was conducted among dental hygienists working at dental institutions and data of 172 individuals were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. Descriptive statistics was performed for general characteristics. For factor analysis by general characteristics, t-test and ANOVA were performed. For differences between groups Scheffe verification was performed. A correlation analysis between factors was performed using Pearson's correlation analysis, and a factor analysis affecting the improvement of healthcare quality was performed using multiple linear regression analysis. Care for elderly patients was 52.33/75, management of systemic disease was 12.65/17, and infection management was 96.92/130. Improvement of medical quality (institutional effort) was 22.87/35, and improvement of medical quality (personal effort) was 22.72/35. The most common educational needs were "necessary". Analysis revealed a positive correlation between factors.. Factors affecting improvement of medical quality (personal effort) were age, final academic background, place of work, and the presence or absence of annual medical examinations. The findings of this study indicate that there is a significant correlation between factors. For the qualitative care of elderly patients, education programs related to elderly characteristics, systemic diseases, and infection management should be actively conducted by dental hygienists, and interest and research on geriatric dental hygiene is needed, centering on associations and educational institutions.

The Effects of Transformational Leadership of Financial Institution on Organizational Effectiveness -Focused on Mediating Effect of Education Service Quality and Moderating Effect of Trust- (금융기관 상사의 변혁적 리더십이 조직유효성에 미치는 영향 -교육서비스품질의 매개효과와 신뢰의 조절효과 중심으로-)

  • This study is about the factors affecting organizational effectiveness and to suggest implications for encouraging organizational effectiveness. The conditional process model was analyzed with transformational leadership as an independent variable, educational service quality as a mediator, organizational effectiveness as a dependent variable, and trust as a moderator. The data collected from the financial institutions were analyzed using SPSS v22.0 and PROCESS macro v3.4. As a result, transformational leadership has a (+) effect on educational service quality, and educational service quality has a (+) effect on organizational effectiveness. Except for the relationship between charisma and innovative behavior, transformational leadership affect organizational effectiveness. Excluding the relationship between charisma and innovative behavior, educational service quality mediate between transformational leadership and organizational effectiveness. Trust only moderates between educational service quality and innovative behavior. Trust moderated the mediating effect of educational service quality between transformational leadership and innovative behavior. The results suggest the importance of education service quality management in a non-face-to-face working environment and the importance of individual consideration in innovative actions.
