  • G. H. Hardy laid the foundation of classical studies on double Fourier series at the beginning of the 20th century. In this paper we are concerned not only with Fourier series but more generally with trigonometric series. We consider Norlund means and Cesaro summation method for double Fourier Series. In section 2, we investigate the classical results on the summability and the convergence of double Fourier series from G. H. Hardy to P. Sjolin in the mid-20th century. This study concerns with the $L^1(T^2)$-convergence of double Fourier series fundamentally. In conclusion, there are the features of the classical results by comparing and reinterpreting the theorems about double Fourier series mutually.

  • Formal manipulations of double series are useful in getting some other identities from given ones and evaluating certain summations, involving double series. The main object of this note is to summarize rather useful double series manipulations scattered in the literature and give their generalized formulas, for convenience and easier reference in their future use. An application of such manipulations to an evaluation for Euler sums (in itself, interesting), among other things, will also be presented to show usefulness of such manipulative techniques.

  • This paper is concerned with the convergence of double trigonometric series and Fourier series. Since the beginning of the 20th century, many authors have studied on those series. Also, Ferenc $M{\acute{o}}ricz$ has studied the convergence of double trigonometric series and double Fourier series so far. We consider $L^p(T^2)$-convergence results focused on the Ferenc $M{\acute{o}}ricz^{\prime}s$ studies from the second half of the 20th century up to now. In section 2, we reintroduce some of Ferenc $M{\acute{o}}ricz^{\prime}s$ remarkable theorems. Also we investigate his several important results. In conclusion, we investigate his research trends and the simple minor genealogy from J. B. Joseph Fourier to Ferenc $M{\acute{o}}ricz$. In addition, we present the research minor lineage of his study on $L^p(T^2)$-convergence.

  • In 1965, Bhatt and Pandey have obtained an analogue of the Whipple's theorem for double series by using Watson's theorem on the sum of a $_3F_2$. The aim of this paper is to derive twenty five results for double series closely related to the analogue of the Whipple's theorem for double series obtained by Bhatt and Pandey. The results are derived with the help of twenty five summation formulas closely related to the Watson's theorem on the sum of a $_3F_2$ obtained recently by Lavoie, Grondin, and Rathie.

  • In this paper, double Fourier sine series is used as a modal displacement functions of a rectangular plate and applied to the free vibration analysis of a rectangular plate under various boundary conditions. The method of stationary potential energy is used to obtain the modal displacements of a plate. To enhance the flexibility of the double Fourier sine series, Lagrangian multipliers are utilized to match the geometric boundary conditions, and Stokes' transformation is used to handle the displacements that are not satisfied by the double Fourier sine series. The frequency parameters and mode shapes obtained by the present method are compared with those obtained by MSC/NASTRAN and other analysis.

  • In 1965, Bhatt and Pandey obtained the Watson's theorem for double series by using Dioxon's theorem on the sum of a $_3F_2$. The aim of this paper is to derive twenty three results for double series closely related to the Watson's theorem for double series obtained by Bhatt and Pandey. The results are derived with the help of twenty three summation formulas closely related to the Dison's theorem on the sum of a $_3F_2$ obtained in earlier work by Lavoie, Grondin, Rathie and Arora.

  • In this paper we introduce some new types of double difference sequence spaces defined by a new definition of convergence of double sequences and a double series with the help of sequence of Orlicz functions and a four dimensional bounded regular matrices A = (artkl). We also make an effort to study some topological properties and inclusion relations between these sequence spaces. Finally, we compute the closed ideals in the space 𝑙2.

  • In this paper, we obtain two new double infinite series for the H-function of two variables, by which we also obtain a single infinite series involving the H-function of two variable3. On account of the most general nature of the H-functin of two variables, a number of related double infinite series for simpler functions follow as special cases of our results. As an illustration, we obtain here from one of our main series, the corresponding series for $Kamp{\acute{e}}$ de $F{\acute{e}}riet$ function and Fox's H-function. A number of other series involving a very large, spectrum of special functions also follow as special cases of our main series but, we are not recording them here for want of space.

  • We obtain recursion formulas for q-hypergeometric and q-Appell series. We also find recursion formulas for the general double q-hypergeometric series. It is shown that these recursion relations can be expressed in terms of q-derivatives of the respective q-hypergeometric series.
