  • The compensated-current-differential relay uses the same restraining current as a conventional relay, but the differential current is modified to compensate for the effects of the exciting current. Delta winding current is necessary to obtain the modified differential current for a $Y-\Delta$ transformer. This paper describes an estimation algorithm of the delta winding current and its application to a compensated-current-differential relay for a $Y-\Delta$ transformer. Prior to saturation, the core-loss current is calculated and used to modify the differential current. When the core first enters saturation, the initial value of the core flux is obtained by inserting the modified differential current into the magnetization curve. This flux value is used to derive the magnetizing current and consequently the modified differential current. The operating performance of the proposed relay was compared against a conventional current differential relay with harmonic blocking. Test results indicate that the proposed relay remained stable during severe magnetic inrush and over-excitation, and its operating time is significantly faster than a conventional relay. The relay is unaffected by the level of remanent flux and does not require an additional restraining or blocking signal to maintain stability. This paper concludes by implementing the proposed algorithm into a prototype relay based on a digital signal processor.

  • This paper presents a new CMOS fully-differential second-generation current conveyor (FDCCII). The proposed FDCCII is based on a fully-differential difference transconductor as an input stage and two class AB output stages. Besides the proposed FDCCII circuit operating at a supply voltage of ${\pm}1.5\;V$, it has a total standby current of $380\;{\mu}A$. The applications of the FDCCII to realize a variable gain amplifier, fully-differential integrator, and fully-differential second-order bandpass filter are given. The proposed FDCII and its applications are simulated using CMOS $0.35\;{\mu}m$ technology.

  • This paper analizes two numerical integration methods, both based on the Runge Kutta 4-th order formula for deterministic systems, for digital simulation of a differential equation driven by white noise. It is shown that a "standard' Runge Kutta method for stochasitic systems yields solutions of Stratonovich differential equations, while Riggs and Phillips' method results in solutions of Ito differential equations. Therefore the white noise differential equation must be converted into the equivalent Ito equation before the latter method is used. Digital simulation results for a simple differential equation are also presented.nted.

  • In this paper, we consider the growth and existence of solutions of differential-difference equations of certain types. We also consider the differential-difference analogues of Br$\ddot{u}$ck conjecture and give a short proof on a theorem given by Li, Yang and Yi [18]. Our additional purpose is to explore the similarity or difference on some problems in differential, difference and differential-difference fields.

  • The introduction of fuzzy differential equation is to deal wit fuzzy dynamic systems. As classical differential equations, it is difficult to find the solutions to all fuzzy differential equations. In this paper an existence and uniqueness theorem for linear fuzzy differential equations is obtained. Moreover, the exact solution to linear fuzzy differential equation is given.

  • Uncertainty theory is a branch of mathematics based on normolity, duality, subadditivity and product axioms. Uncertain process is a sequence of uncertain variables indexed by time. Canonical Liu process is an uncertain process with stationary and independent increments. And the increments follow normal uncertainty distributions. Uncertain differential equation is a type of differential equation driven by the canonical Liu process. Stability analysis on uncertain differential equation is to investigate the qualitative properties, which is significant both in theory and application for uncertain differential equations. This paper aims to study stability properties of linear uncertain differential equations. First, the stability concepts are introduced. And then, several sufficient and necessary conditions of stability for linear uncertain differential equations are proposed. Besides, some examples are discussed.

  • This paper proposes a current differential relay for transformer protection that operates in accordance with a blocking method based on the difference-function of a differential current. For magnetic inrush and over-excitation, discontinuities in the first-difference function of the differential current arise at the points of inflection, which correspond to the start and end of each saturation period of the core. These discontinuities are converted into the pulses in the second- and third-difference functions of the differential current. The magnitudes of the pulses are large enough to detect saturation of the core. A blocking signal is issued if the magnitude of the third-difference function exceeds the threshold and is maintained for three quarters of a cycle. The performance of the relay is assessed under various conditions with magnetic inrush, internal faults and external faults. The proposed blocking method can improve significantly the operating time of a relay and achieve high sensitivity of a relay.
