어린이집 내 장난감도서관 구성에 대한 유아들의 이야기 (Children's Story on Spatial Composition in a Child Care Center Toy Library)

  • The aim of this study is to examine children's desires in a toy library and what they want to do there in order to reflect their opinions on constructing a toy library in a child care center. The study has been conducted by participatory observation on a 'toy library' project consisting of 20 five-year-olds attending B public child care center in Seoul. Observational notes were taken with voice and video recordings. The results of analysis on collected data are as follows. First, the children wanted to call the toy library a toy playground because a toy library is not for study but for play and they wanted space for rest and display with no surveillance camera. Second, they wanted to play freely without any interruption, even leaving things scattered and also wanted to play with parents and friends. Discussion followed in the view of children's right to play and to express their opinions.

보육교사의 효능감에 관한 연구 (A Study of Educare Center's Teachers on the Efficacy of Early Childhood Care and Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out teacher's variables that made difference between teacher's efficacy for early childhood care and education and general self-efficacy, and to explore variables influencing in teacher's efficacy for early childhood care and education. In this study, 212 inservice teachers in edu-care centers completed and analyzed. Efficacy for Child Care and Teaching(ECCT) and general self-efficacy scale. Age, status in working place, years of experience, and participation in decision-making of working place were found as important variables in teacher's efficacy for child care and education, and general self-efficacy. And status and participation in decision-making of working place were found as important variables in explaining teacher's efficacy for child care and education.

영유아 보육시설의 영양관리 시범 사업(II) : 영양상태 개선 효과 (Improved Nutritional Status of Children by Nutritional Management Programs at Child Care Centers in Korea)

  • The study was carried out to assess whether the nutritional management program by dietician at child center can affect nutritional status of children at child care center. The diet intakes were measured by mother\`s record at home and by direct weighing at child care centers, and the hight and weight of children were measured before and after nutritional management program for 3months to see the effects. The energy intakes were significantly increased 56.29 Kcal after program, and protein 3.61g, lipid 3.12 g, calcium 49.71mg, iron 0.39 mg, vitamin B$_1$ 0.084 mg, vitamin B$_2$ 0.116 mg, and vitamin C 10.10 mg, respectively, except vitamin A and niacin. the significant changes of nutrient intakes were more at higher age group compared to at the lower age group, and more at girls compared to boys, Although the significant increase fo nutrient intakes at child care center, most nutrient intakes at home were not significantly changed, except energy, lipid, iron, vitamin A. The changes at changes of fat and calcium intakes for 3 months were positively correlated to the change of Z-score for weight, and the change of A-score for weight was positively correlated to changes of Z-score for height. The results showed that the nutritional management program for 3 month at child care center can increase nutrient intakes significantly and the incresed nutrient intakes can enhance children\`s growth. 방과후 아동지도의 질적 수준과 관련 변인간의 관계에 대한 연구 (Quality of School-Age Child Care and Related Variables)

  • The present study investigated quality of school-age child care in 142 centers (42 child care centers, 54 social welfare centers, 35 local child center, and 11 elementary schools) located in Seoul. Overall, the quality of school-age child care was not up to standards : 7% were very well managed, 44.4% were well managed and 48.6% were poorly managed. Financial support from the government was the most important factor affecting the quality of school-age child care. The child care centers receiving financial support from the government showed high quality care.

영아특성 및 보육환경(보육시설과 교사)변인이 영아의 놀이실 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Toddlers' Characteristics and Child Care Environments on Toddlers' Behaviors in Child Care Center)

  • 본 연구는 영아특성 및 보육환경(보육시설과 교사)변인이 영아의 놀이실 행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 직접 관찰을 통해 조사 분석하였다. 울산광역시에 위치한 8개 보육시설(국 공립 보육시설: 4개, 민간 보육시설: 4개)에서 27-35개월 된 영아(toddlers) 40명을 자유놀이 시간에 교실에서 관찰하였다. 각 영아는 20초 관찰, 10초 기록의 시간표집방법에 의해 총 42회 관찰하였으며, 영아의 사회적 행동은 또래와의 상호작용과 교사와의 상호작용으로 나뉘어졌다. 수집된 자료를 분석하기 위해 SPSSWIN 통계프로그램을 이용하여 Person의 적률상관계수, t-검증, 일원분산분석과 Duncan 검정, 단계적 회귀분석 등을 실시하였다. 그 결과 영아특성(toddlers' characteristics), 보육시설의 모든 변인과 교사변인 중 전체경력, 영아반경력, 결혼여부, 소지자격유형에서만 영아의 놀이실 행동(toddlers' behavior in a child care center)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 영아특성 및 보육환경(child care environment)(보육시설과 교사)변인 중 영아의 놀이실 행동에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변인은 영아특성, 보육시설변인, 보육교사변인 순으로 나타났다.

영유아 교사의 의사소통능력과 교사효능감이 어린이집 조직효과성에 미치는 영향 (Study on Influence of Communication Ability and Early Childhood Teachers' Sense of Efficacy on Organizational Effectiveness of Child Care Centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships of early childhood teachers' communication ability, teacher efficacy, and organizational effectiveness of child care centers. The subjects of this study were 397 teachers working at child care centers. The results of this study were as follows. First, differences in the organization effectiveness of child care centers were detected according to teachers' age, career, type of child care center where they were affiliated, and marriage status. Second, the relative effects of the teachers' communication ability and teacher efficacy on the organizational effectiveness of early-childhood educational institutions differed significantly according to each sub-factor; teachers' communication ability's sub-factors - response, analysis, and evaluation - and teacher efficacy's sub-factors - general efficacy and personal efficacy - had partial effects on the organizational effectiveness of child care centers. Of these, personal efficacy had the greatest effects on all sub-factors of organizational effectiveness. This study is significant since it identifies the variables that could affect the organizational effectiveness of child care centers.

스웨덴과 한국 보육시설의 질과 어머니 만족도 (Quality of Childcare Centers in Sweden and Korea and mothers' satisfaction)

  • This study is to compare the quality of child care centers in Sweden and Korea and the mothers' satisfaction of each center. In this study, the quality of 27 preschools in Sweden and 24 child care centers was evaluated by external evaluator using the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS). A total of 436 Korean mothers and 197 Swedish mothers responded to the questionnaire regarding their satisfaction of their child's attending child care centers. The results show that the quality of Swedish preschool was significantly higher than Korean child care centers. The quality of Swedish preschools tended to be good whereas the quality of Korean child care centers was somewhat minimal. Specifically, the category of 'Furnishings and display for children' was the highest score in Swedish preschool, however, the category of 'Adult needs' was the highest score in Korean child care centers. The mothers' satisfaction of the centers was significantly different between two countries. The Swedish mothers were highly satisfied with the close location of preschool but Korean mothers were highly satisfied with the teachers of child care centers. However, both mothers in two countries were less likely satisfied with the facility equipments. The results were discussed in terms of cultural and child care program differences further.

어린이집에서의 아동학대와 아동권리 모니터링을 통한 해결방안 (Through Monitoring Solution Child Abuse and Children's Rights at Child Care Center)

  • 아동 학대는 아동의 생명을 좌우하고 평생의 삶에 영향을 끼치는 긴박하면서도 중요한 사안이다. 특히 보육시설을 이용하는 아동의 경우, 나이가 어리기 때문에 학대에 취약하여 그 학대 후유증이 심각하며 심할 경우 아동은 사망에 이를 수 있다. 또한 학대받은 아동의 억울함을 대변하고 도움을 청할 주체가 부재하기 때문에 아동학대는 늘 아이들의 안타까운 희생으로 종결되는 경우가 많다. 그러므로 보육시설종사자들은 아동학대는 더 이상 가정 내의 사적인 문제가 아니라 심각한 범죄라는 사실을 인식하여야 할 것이고 신고의무자로서 학대조기발견 및 신고에 적극적으로 임해야 할 것이다. 보육시설 종사자들이 아동학대 신고의무자로서 역할을 충분히 수행하며, 신고 이후 아동보호전문기관과 보육시설간의 협력이 제대로 이루어질 때 보육시설은 사각지대에 놓인 아동을 보호하는 아동안전망의 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다.

보육교사와 학령전기 아동 어머니의 아동 건강증진 교육요구 (Needs for Children's Health Promotion Education as Perceived by Child Care Center Teachers and Mothers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the needs for children's health promotion education programs as perceived by child care center teachers and mothers. Methods: This study conducted a survey of 88 child care center teachers and 70 mothers of preschool children in Seoul from January 4 to February 5, 2016. This study aimed to characterize the current conditions of health promotion education for preschool children and the needs for health promotion education as perceived by child care center teachers and mothers of preschool children. Results: Areas of high need for health promotion education included lifestyle improvements for preventing diseases in children and awareness of the importance of health in educational objectives, standardized educational manuals, health educators as educators, child care centers as educational places, local health centers as educational support organizations, regular class hours as educational time, role play for training, and actual models in the educational medium. The educational subjects for which a high need was reported included safety and accident prevention, the role of smartphones and TV watching in mental health, and personal hygiene and disease prevention. Conclusion: These findings suggest that it is necessary to develop a health promotion education program for preschool children.

보육시설장의 변혁적 리더십이 보육교사의 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Child Care Center Director's Transformational Leadership on the Organizational Commitment of the Child Care Teachers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the child care center director's transformational leadership on the organizational committment of the child care teachers. The research subjects were 292 child care teachers who worked in 43 facilities of the eastern part of Jeon Nam Province. The data analysis was performed by using SPSS Win 15.0 Program. The results of this study were as follows. First, the teachers rated the transformational leadership of the director as 2.39 points in a scale of 5 points which was recognized as a normal level. Among the transformational leadership categories, the category of vision setting was the highest and the category of setting an example was the lowest. Second, the level of organizational committment of the teachers is rated 3.70 points in a scale of 5 points. Among the organizational commitment categories, the category of normative committment was the highest and followed by the category of affective and continuance commitment. More transformational leadership was related to more organizational commitment from teachers.
