어린이집 장애영유아 통합보육에 관한 연구 동향 (Research Trends in Inclusive Child-care for Young Children with Disabilities)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to understand the research trends of inclusive child-care for young children with disabilities and suggest some implications for future research on inclusive child-care. Methods: There were a total 330 previous research papers about child-care inclusion, which means the practice of educating and caring for children aged 0 to 5 years old with disabilities alongside their typically developing peers at child-care centers. The studies were analyzed in terms of main research topic, subject, and research methods. Results: The major results of this study were as follow. First, a quantitative increase of the research since 2003 and a sharp increase of total research in this area since 2006 were found. Second, as a result of the main topic analysis, recognition and attitude research was the most frequently conducted, followed by the research about child-care programs, teacher and family support, and the effect of inclusive child-care. Third, more than half of the researches were done by teachers. Lastly, quantitative research methods were mainly used. Conclusion/Implications: Based on these findings, this study suggested to extend the research on inclusive child-care effect, intervention programs, non-disabled children, infants, and qualitative research.

유아 배려교육에 관한 연구동향 분석 - 2006년~2018년 국내 연구를 중심으로 - (Analysis on the Research Trend of Child Care Education - Based on Domestic Research from 2006 to 2018 -)

  • Objective: This study aims to analyze the research trend of domestic child care education, and to seek directions for future research related to child care education based on analysis results. Methods: A total of 91 theses were selected in journals released in Korea from January 2006 to August 2018. The analysis standards for the research trend were established as research period, theme, target and method. Results: First, the amount of research on child care education has gradually increased since 2006. Second, action research for improvement was the most common research theme for child care education, while activities utilizing fairy tales and picture books were the most frequently used education activities. Third, research that targeted five-year-olds accounted for the largest part of research. Fourth, when it came to research type, most research was based on quantitative research. Conclusion/Implications: Based on the analysis results above, the direction for the development of future child care education and relevant research was discussed.

양육수당이 자녀 돌봄유형 선택에 미치는 영향 : 이상적인 돌봄유형과 현재 돌봄유형의 일치여부를 중심으로 (The Influence of Home Child Care Allowance on the Choice of Child Care Types : Focusing on the Concordance between an Ideal and Actual Child Care Type)

  • This study aims to examine how home child care allowance influences a mother's choice of child care type. To accomplish this goal, we surveyed 432 mothers who had at least one child under 5 years old. The data were analyzed by frequencies, percentages, means and binomial logistic regressions. The results showed that unemployed mothers and mothers with younger children had a high tendency to choose home child care allowance instead of child care subsidy. Second, mother's employment status, age of first child and an interactive term of mother's employment status and home child care receipt influenced a concordance between an ideal and actual child care type. Unemployed mothers and mothers with younger children were more likely to experience a concordance between their ideal and actual types of child care. By investigating how home child care allowance affects the right of choice in child care type, this study provides empirical information to policy makers and researchers and contributes to develop cash-benefit policies for families with young children.

보육교사의 실습지도 경험에 관한 반성적 평가 (Child Care Teachers' Reflective Assessment on Practical Training Experiences)

  • This study used a qualitative research method to comprehensively deal with child care training in depth with the following content: the goals of child care teachers preparing for practical training; how they perform and feel about their roles throughout the training period as child care teachers; and their evaluation after the training period. A total of 10 people participated in the research and the training activities of child care teachers were qualitatively explored based on the results. The research findings are as follows. First, child care teachers have expectations for prospective teachers and take time for self-evaluation while preparing for teaching. Also, child care teachers set a goal of helping prospective teachers develop into outstanding teachers and have expectations for it. Second, child care teachers evaluate prospective teachers by treating them as colleagues while teaching them. Furthermore, child care teachers consider themselves as educators who train and produce child care professionals. Prospective teachers define their roles as assistants and learners in the actual educational scene. In addition, child care teachers feel a sense of pride by performing as hands-on training teachers. At the same time, they reflect on themselves by evaluating their duties as educators in their relationships with prospective teachers. Third, child care teachers suggested the need for changing the training system for themselves and prospective teachers after training. In addition, they argued that the gaps between school education and the actual educational scene should be reduced through solid training for acquiring new knowledge and information in both places in accordance with the rapidly-changing child care environment. Finally, the suggested the necessity of establishing a standard training curriculum and educational programs within their institution.

보육시설장의 변혁적 지도성에 관한 연구 (Child Care Center Director's Transformational Leadership)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate factors related to the child care center director's transformational leadership and differences of the awareness about transformational leadership between child care center directors and teachers. A survey was conducted using the questionnaire developed by Lee suk-kyung (1997). Results of this research showed that type of child care center, number of children in the program, director's age, educational degree and years of career related to child care, affected the child care director's transformational leadership as recognized by themselves. From a teacher's point of view, director's transformational leadership was influenced by director's age, educational degree, and years of career related to child care. In addition, different level of awareness about director's transformational leadership between child care directors and teachers was found. Based on the result, a program to enhance director's leadership is strongly needed.

보육시설 평가인증에 대한 보육시설장과 보육교사의 인식 (Awareness of Evaluative Accrediation System of the Heads and Teachers in Childcare Centers)

  • This study was intended to analyze whether there would be difference in awareness of the Evaluative Accreditation System(the administrative procedures of Evaluative Accreditation, the effect of Evaluative Accreditation, and the preferred public support types for encouraging participation in Evaluative Accreditation) between child-care directors and teachers, and among the types of child-care centers. The questionnaires were administrated to 168 child-care directors and 423 child-care teachers in Gyeonggido. Data analyses were conducted by descriptive statistics, the chi-test and the t-test. The main results were as follows. First, there was significant difference in awareness of the administrative procedures of Evaluative Accreditation among the types of child-care centers. Second, there was difference in awareness of the effect of Evaluative Accreditation on child-care service areas between child-care center directors and teachers, and among the types of child-care centers in terms of child-care services. Third, in terms of the preferred public support for the encouragement of participation in Evaluative Accreditation, there was difference between child-care center directors and teachers, and among the types of child-care centers.

보육 (Child Care in Korea : A Look to the Future)

  • Child care in Korea has been officially institutionalized due to the legislation of the Child Care Act in 1991. Since then, the predominant social phenomena such as growing female workforce, more intensified female education, and the low birth rates have led the stronger demand for child care at the national level. Accordingly, the supply of child care services and the demand of families using the services have increased dramatically, producing enhancement of the quality of child care via improved and extended laws and regulations. Such movements have arisen academic interests and policy issues to specific sectors with details including child care policies, curriculum and professionals working with young children at child care centers, needs of children and their families attending child care centers, and program evaluations.

보육시설 평가인증제에 대한 연구 동향 분석 (Research Trends about the Child Care Center Accreditation System in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends about the child care center accreditation system in Korea which has been practiced relatively recently. To solve the research problems, 68 pieces of master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and journal articles were analyzed. The results of this study are as follows: First, since 2005 when the research about the child care center accreditation system was first applied, the number of research has increased dramatically over the year 2006 and 2007. Also, majority of the research was done mostly in the region of Seoul and Gyeonggi-do compared to other regions. Second, the child care center accreditation system administration was the most frequently researched topic, followed by the evaluation on the child care center accreditation system, and the general understanding and recognition of the child care center accreditation system. Third, quantitative method was used most frequently to research the child care center accreditation system, and literature review and qualitative method were used relatively less. Most of the research subjects were the child care center directors and teachers. The sample size of the research was relatively big, and most of the survey were either made by the researcher or were modified and adjusted from the previously used survey questions according to the present research. Most of the data analysis of quantitative study were done with descriptive statistics, and with t-test, chi-square, and ANOVA and there was only one done with correlation analysis.

육아지원정책에 따른 가정보육시설의 운영방향 (Prospect of Family Day-care with regard to the National Policy of Child-rearing Support)

  • As the fertility rate of Korea has recently decreased to the lowest level in the world, the recognition of the needs for social support for the child-care has been increased. This resulted in the announcement of National Policy of Child-Rearing Support in 2004. This study attempted to propose the activation of the family child-care for the preparation of the introduction of the National Policy of Child-Rearing Support. Using literature review and interview, the following research questions were addressed. Firstly, the actual situation of the family child-care was compared with that of the other types of child-care. Secondly, the policies of child-rearing support and the family child-care systems in other countries such as United Kingdom, Sweden and Japan were introduced. Finally, activations of the family child-care were discussed in terms of the introduction of the National Policy of Child-Rearing Support. The results of this study implies that the family child-care in Korea is different from that of other countries as well as other types of child-care in Korea. Also, it suggests that key factors of the activation of the family child-care in Korea are to identify as the small, informal and family-like child-care, to differentiate as the infant-care and non-standard time child-care from other types of child-care, and to increase the level of professionalization. In conclusion, family child-care should become an alternative for the low fertility problem.

예비보육교사의 실습 경험에 관한 과정 분석 (A Process Analysis on the Experiences of Preliminary Child Care Teachers in Child Care Practice)

  • 본 연구는 예비보육교사의 보육실습에 대한 심도 깊은 연구를 위해 질적연구방법을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과 첫째, 실습 전 예비보육교사는 자신이 이중역할을 수행할 것으로 인식하였다. 실습지도교사와 불평등한 수직적 관계를 이루고, 아동에게는 교사와 친구의 중간자이며, 시설장은 중재자, 실습 동료는 동반자로 인식하였다. 둘째, 실습 중 예비보육교사는 삼중 역할을 수행하였으며, 실습지도교사는 보육인 양성가로서의 역할수행을 한 것으로 나타났다. 예비보육교사는 실습지도교사와 상부상조적인 상호작용, 아동에게는 교사와 친구의 중간자, 시설장은 중요한 지지자, 실습동료와 불편한 경쟁자로서의 관계를 이루고 있다. 셋째, 실습 후 예비보육교사는 만족감과 아쉬움을 가지고 있었으며, 교육과정에서 이론과 실습의 균형을 강조하였다. 본 연구는 보육실습에 실습의 주체가 되는 예비보육교사 보육실습 요구를 파악함으로써 보육실습의 질 향상을 위한 개선 방향을 제시하는 것에 의의가 있다.
