In order to improve the problem-solving abilities and enhance the academic achievement of under achieving students for university basic mathematics, P-university has opened the basic mathematics and practice education courses. These education courses are operated as prerequisite subject of Calculus and we are progressing the class focused on presentation with variety learning materials by organizing level-based classes In this paper, we analyzed the acquired grade and the result of teaching assessment of 1,106 students registered in the 30 classes that the teaching portfolio of the basic mathematics and practice education courses were submitted to support 'Accreditation for Engineering Education of Korea'. In addition, we tried to find attention points and improved solutions on operating the level-based class of the basic mathematics and practice education courses based on the 'Continuous Quality Improvement Report' of teaching portfolio submitted by each professor who is in charge of this class.

In order to propose effective learning methods to teach basic mathematics course for students of business administration, we conducted the survey on recognition and attitude on mathematics subjects, and analyzed academic achievements of the business mathematics as a basic mathematics course in relation to the results of the survey. First, we investigated learning contents and problems difficult for students to understand in the course, and presented the instructional method and significance of them with examples. These learning contents and problems were collected from the students using the mathematics cafe. Furthermore, we analyzed types of the incorrect answers on the midterm and final examinations in the business mathematics. Although it is difficult to generalize the finding to all of the business administration students due to differences in academic level and educational environment, much work has been put in to present learning method of the business mathematics for students of business administration.

In this paper, we analyzed the correlation among scores of the mathematics B-type grade of College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT), scores of Mathematics Level Assessment(MLA) and written test scores of Basic Mathematics Subject(BMS) made by students. Especially, we examined the relationship between CSAT grade with results of MLA and results of BMS through survey of students who changed their grades and learned about reasons. A poor achievement of basic competency leads to obstacles of the same subject and other subjects from a series of accumulative losses and social life. The Grade 3 National Diagnostic Assessment of Basic Competency (NDAHC) dated from 2002, Teaching Plan Responsible to Basic Competency and compensational education materials for students of the below-basic level has marked a line in the chain of policy to realize educational welfare. The goal of NDABC is to collect information of the reason with regard to learning deficiency and individual student's information, and ultimately teach them on the basis of those informations. This study analyzed the characteristics of below-basic students in the basic mathematics with data from NDABC from 2003 to 2007. Students of the below-basic level were affected in achievement by numerical distinction, regrouping, arrangement and descriptive form of item, information-providing way, typical example, familiarity, frequency in use in daily life etc. This study provides a basic important information with regard to teaching below-basic students and suggestions with compensational education materials for them.

We study some properties of intuitionistic fuzzy normal subgroups of a group. In particular, we obtain two characterizations of intuitionistic fuzzy normal subgroups. Moreover, we introduce the concept of an intuitionistic fuzzy coset and obtain several results which are analogous of some basic theorems of group theory.
