  • The initial-boundary value problem for a class of semilinear Klein-Gordon equation with logarithmic nonlinearity in bounded domain is studied. The existence of global solution for this problem is proved by using potential well method, and obtain the exponential decay of global solution through introducing an appropriate Lyapunov function. Meanwhile, the blow-up of solution in the unstable set is also obtained.

  • The regrowth of OQPSK power spectral sidelobes from AM/AM and AM/PM amplifier nonlinearity is analyzed. The time-domain expression for amplifier output shows how spectral re-growth will depend on the cubic coefficient of the Taylor's series of the amplifier nonlinearity as well as input amplitude ripple. Closed form spectrum calculations show that the spectral sidelobes produced by AM/PM take the same form as those produced by AM/AM. The rate of growth of AM/PM sidelobes is, however, not as great as for AM/AM.

  • Piezoelectric actuator is widely used in precision positioning applications due to its excellent positioning resolution. However, serious hysteresis nonlinearity of the actuator deteriorates its precise positioning capability. Evenworse, its hysteresis nonlinearity changes as the actuator input frequency varies. In this study, a simple feedforward scheme is proposed and tested through experiments for precision position control when the variance of the system input frequency is significant.

  • In this paper, the ultra precision positioning system for piezoelectric actuator using hysteresis compensation has been developed. Piezoelectric actuators exhibit limited accuracy in tracking control due to their hysteresis nonlinearity. The main purpose of the proposed controller is to compensate the hysteresis nonlinearity of the piezoelectric actuator. The controller is composed of a PD, hysteresis compensation and neural network part in parallel manner, at first, the excellent tracking performance of the neural network controller was verified by experiments and was compared with the classical PD controller.

  • We investigate the bounded weak solutions for the Hamiltonian system with bounded nonlinearity decaying at the origin and periodic condition. We get a theorem which shows the existence of the bounded weak periodic solution for this system. We obtain this result by using variational method, critical point theory for indefinite functional.

  • Nonlinear equation of motion due to material nonlinearity of structure is transformed to linear equation of motion by treating the nonlinear elastic force term as an applied force. The solution in a time step is carried out by iterative linear dynamic analysis. The present simple algorithm is varidated by several examples .The results show that this algorithm is and efficient.

  • In this paper we introduce a compensation of nonlinearity Heterodyne laser interferometer. The Laser Interferometer is used for length measurement in various industries. However, it has nonlinearity error caused by the imperfect optical equipment. This acts as an obstacle in the measurement improvement. We propose an adaptive error compensation using least mean square(LMS) to improve precision.

  • We investigate the effect of polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) on the optimum dispersion compensation (ODC) monitoring and nonlinear penalty in optical transmission systems. We report that PMD may reduce the fiber nonlinearity. We also report that the monitoring error of the clock-based ODC monitoring technique decreases after the first-order PMD compensation. A simple explanation of this phenomenon is shown.

  • Wave nonlinearity and dispersivity have mutually counteracting effects on the wave evolution process; i.e., the former makes the wave profile steeper, while the latter milder. Therefore to describe evolution of nonlinear water waves under general condition such as nonlinear random waves over arbitrary depths, both the wave nonlinearity and dispersivity must be properly taken into account in the wave modeling. • This paper aims to investigate the initial boundary value problem of the nonlinear viscoelastic Petrovsky type equation with nonlinear damping and logarithmic source term. We derive the blow-up results by the combination of the perturbation energy method, concavity method, and differential-integral inequality technique.
