Response surface methodology was employed to investigate the change of flavonoids components of citrus peel hydrolysate using Viscozyme L as the enzyme. As citrus peels were hydrolyzed by the enzyme, hesperetin and naringenin contents of flavonoids aglycone form increased. The optimal enzyme treatment conditions which were superimposed of the maximized levels for soluble solid, hesperetin, and naringenin contents were enzyme concentration of 1.5% and reaction time of 18 hr. In enzyme-untreated citrus peels (CC), soluble solid content was 48.49% and the content of hesperidin only detected flavonoids was 58.85 mg/g. In the case of optimal enzyme-treated citrus peels (CE), soluble solid content was 72.97% and the contents of naringin, hesperidin, naringenin and hesperetin were 1.56 mg/g, 31.31 mg/g, 2.58 mg/g and 3.90 mg/g, respectively. In the results of electron donating ability and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition activity, the activity of CE was higher than that of CC.
Backgrounds : Recently, commercial indirect moxibustion has been widely used as a substitute for traditional indirect moxibustion by clinicians due to its convenience in using. But, there has been lack of studies about the similarity of thermal stimulation between commercial indirect moxibustion and traditional indirect moxibustion. Objectives : To demonstrate commercial indirect moxibustion can substitute for traditional indirect moxibustion by comparing thermal stimulation between the two. Methods : We measured bottom temperature of commercial indirect moxibustion and traditional indirect moxibustion with various thicknesses of ginger and garlic. A clinical trial was performed on 18 healthy subjects to evaluate thermal stimualtion. The subjects were randomly assigned into two groups, traditional indirect moxibustion with ginger and garlic. The skin temperature and heating time were measured. They received moxibustion therapy with commercial indirect moxibustion and traditional indirect moxibustion according to their groups. Acupoint Chogcoe($LU_6$), Zusanli($ST_{36}$) and Tianshu($ST_{25}$) were used in each group for 3 times. Results : There was no difference in bottom temperature among commercial indirect moxibustion, traditional indirect moxibustion with 2mm ginger and 3mm garlic. No major difference was detected in the subjects' baseline data. There was no difference in skin temperature and heating time among these 3 type of moxibustions. Also, No major difference was detected in VAS score of thermal stimulation and frequency of burns among these 3 type of moxibustions. But, most subjects regarded their sensation weren't identical because of its own distinct characteristics. Conclusions : Commercial indirect moxibustion, traditional indirect moxibustion with 2mm ginger and 3mm garlic have same thermal stimulation. Thus, commercial indirect moxibustion can substitute for traditional indirect moxibustion.

Ginsenosides, the major active component of ginseng, are traditionally used to treat various diseases, including cancer, inflammation, and obesity. Among these, compound K (CK), an intestinal bacterial metabolite of the ginsenosides Rb1, Rb2, and Rc from Bacteroides JY-6, is reported to inhibit cancer cell growth by inducing cell-cycle arrest or cell death, including apoptosis and necrosis. However, the precise effect of CK on breast cancer cells remains unclear. MCF-7 cells were treated with CK ($0-70{\mu}M$) for 24 or 48 h. Cell proliferation and death were evaluated by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) and flow cytometry assays, respectively. Changes in downstream signaling molecules involved in cell death, including glycogen synthase kinase $3\beta$ ($GSK3\beta$), $GSK3\beta$, $\beta$-catenin, and cyclin D1, were analyzed by western blot assay. To block $GSK3\beta$ signaling, MCF-7 cells were pretreated with $GSK3\beta$ inhibitors 1 h prior to CK treatment. Cell death and the expression of $\beta$-catenin and cyclin D1 were then examined. CK dose- and time-dependently inhibited MCF-7 cell proliferation. Interestingly, CK induced programmed necrosis, but not apoptosis, via the $GSK3\beta$ signaling pathway in MCF-7 cells. CK inhibited $GSK3\beta$ phosphorylation, thereby suppressing the expression of $\beta$-catenin and cyclin D1. Our results suggest that CK induces programmed necrosis in MCF-7 breast cancer cells via the $GSK3\beta$ signaling pathway.

This paper covered the design and implementation of the demodulation receiver in the ADS-B 1090ES system, which is one of the CNS/ATM's surveillance systems. This researched demodulation performed at the level required by RTCA DO-268B and EUROCAE ED-129. The single signal process method, which applies a baseline multi-sample technique among multi-amplitude sample demodulations, was suggested to improve the quality of the receiver signal, the dynamic range and so on. The suggested multi-signal level tuning method has enhanced the single-signal process method, reducing the unstable reception ratio by the transmit output level difference and manufacturing receiver hardware. The result was that the receiver suggested by the method had 0~87dBm in dynamic range and -90dBm in MTL. This shows a better performance by -3dBm less than the international standard in ADS-B 1090ES ground receiver equipment. The systems which use a similar modulation method, will be considered to be widely applied.
This work, which was about the synthesis of naphthalimidopropyl acrylate and GMA copolymers and their physical properties, investigated the compositions of the copolymer, the reactivity ratios of the monomer, resonance effect (Q), polar effect (e) and fluorescence of naphthalene. Azobisisobutyronitronitryl (AIBN) as an initiator was employed at $60^{\circ}C$ with dimethylformamide (DMF) of solvent for the copolymerization of NIPA. $r_1$ was found to be higher than $r_2$ from the reactivity ratios of the monomer obtained from Fineman-Ross (F-R), Kelen-$T{\ddot{u}}d{\ddot{o}}s$(K-T) methods. NIPA was found to be more copolymerized than GMA. $r_1{\cdot}r_2$ product was lower than 1, copolymerization was maked random-alternating type. The fluorescence spectrum of these polymers showed a weak monomer fluorescence band at 380 nm and a strong excimer fluorescence band at about 460 nm. Fluorescence life time of NIPA monomer showed fluorescence cover with UV 355 nm at room temperature, and life time showed $5.1449{\times}10^{-7}s$.

The herb mixtures that are known to lower blood pressure were selected through oriental medical books and prescriptions and the physicochemical properties of their water extracts were analyzed to examine the possibility as functional food materials. The total yield of 28 water extracts was in the range of $5.33{\sim}36.71%$. Total phenolics and flavonoid content were $204.89{\sim}2543.29mg%\;and\;59.79{\sim}1430.55mg%$, respectively, and especially No. 2, 5, 9, 17, 18, 20, 22, and 26 showed high rates of above 800 mg%. Electron donating ability (EDA) was $7.81{\sim}98.18%$, and the samples that showed high values in EDA were similar to the samples with high values in total phenolics and flavonoid content. Phenolics and flavonoid compounds of the herbs are considered to perform a major role in antioxidation. Nitrite scavenging ability reached the highest at pH 1.2 ($11.70{\sim}96.47%$) and the lowest at pH 6.0 (below 12.77%), which indicates that nitrite scavenging ability decreases when pH increases.
Objectives: We identified the effects of Jingansikpung-tang, (JGSPT), derived from therapy on closed head trama(CHT)-induced brain edema and neurologial disturbance symptom in rats. Methods : We used a drop device and induced CHT. We divided the animals into 3 groups. They were JGSPT 1 group (Administered JGSPT 96.5mg/kr through anal far one hour after using CHT) and JGSPT 2 group(Administered JGSPT 386mg/kg through anal for one hour after using CHT) Then, we tested neurological severity score(NSS), water content of brain and haematological changes. Result : aNSS increased significantly in JGSPT 1 and JGSPT 2 as compared to the controlled group, and the change of water content which was pulled out of the right hemisphere from the left hemisphere decreased in JGSPT 1 and JGSPT 2 as compared to the controlled group. The lactate level in serum decreased in JGSPT 1 and JGSPT 2 as compared to the controlled group, which showed no efficacy. Glucose level in serum increased in JGSPT 1 and JGSPT 2 as compared to the controlled group, only JGSPT 2 showed no efficacy. Conclusions : JGSPT, caused by Anal Therapy and effect on CHT-induced brain edema and neurological symptom.
Disinfectants/sanitizers, showing the bactericidal activity of $5log_{10}$ reduction against E. coli ATCC 10536 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 used far assessing disinfectants/sanitizers efficacies, were examined whether showing similar efficacies against Salmonella spp. and Listeria monocytogenes, the major food poisoning bacteria, isolated from foods in current Korean market. The bactericidal efficacies on sodium hypochlorite and benzalkonium chloride were assessed by quantitative suspension tests in both 'clean' and 'dirty' conditions, respectively. Test organisms were consisted of E. coli ATCC 10536, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Salmonella typhimurium ATCC 13311, Salmonella Enteritidis ATCC 13076, Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 19111, 10 kinds of Salmonella spp. from foods, and 11 kinds of Listeria monocytogenes from foods. More than $5log_{10}$ reduction in viable count for all strains was only achieved with benzalkonium chloride at the tolerance exemption concentration under dirty conditions. However, all strains were achieved more than $5log_{10}$ reduction under clean conditions.

Response surface methodology was employed to optimize extraction conditions for finding the maximizing the functional properties of roasted Pleurotus eryngii. Based on the central composite design, independent variables were ethanol concentration ($0{\sim}100%$), extraction time ($1{\sim}9$ min) and microwave power ($25{\sim}125$ W). Soluble solid content, electron donating ability and nitrite-scavenging ability were mainly affected by ethanol concentration, but ACE inhibition activity was largely affected by extraction time. The optimum ranges of extraction conditions resulting from superimposing the response surface were predicted to be ethanol concentration ($25{\sim}50%$), extraction time ($3{\sim}9$ min) and microwave power ($80{\sim}125$ W). Total protein and total phenolic compound content of optimal extracts were 45.80 mg/g and 7.42 mg/g, respectively. In phenolic compounds of roasted Pleurotus eryngii extracts, protocatechuic acid was the highest concentration at 1226.32 ${\mu}g/g$, followed by salicylic acid, catechin, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, caffeic acid, coumaric acid and hesperidin.

In order to understand the nature of dendritic zinc growth, electrochemical zinc redox reaction on nickel plate was investigated in aqueous solutions containing different concentrations, 0.2, 0.1 and 0.02 $mol{\cdot}dm^{-3}$ (M), of zinc sulfate ($ZnSO_4$) or zinc chloride ($ZnCl_2$). Zinc ion was efficiently reduced and oxidized on nickel in the high-concentration (0.2 M) solution, whereas relatively poor efficiency was obtained from the other low-concentration solutions (0,1 and 0.02 M). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis revealed that the 0.2 M electrolyte solution decomposes at more positive potentials than the 0.1 and the 0.02 M solutions. These results suggested that the concentration of electrolyte solution and anion would be an important factor that suppresses the reaction of the zinc dendrite formation. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) data revealed that the shape of dendritic zinc and its growing behavior were also influenced by electrolyte concentration.
