  • In this paper, we prove some existence and uniqueness results on coincidence points for g-monotone mappings satisfying linear as well as generalized nonlinear contractivity conditions in ordered metric spaces. Our results generalize and extend two classical and well known results due to Ran and Reurings (Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132 (2004), no. 5, 1435-1443) and Nieto and $Rodr{\acute{i}}guez$-$L{\acute{o}}pez$ (Acta Math. Sin. 23 (2007), no. 12, 2205-2212) besides similar other ones. Finally, as an application of one of our newly proved results, we establish the existence and uniqueness of solution of a first order periodic boundary value problem.

  • We consider a class of elliptic problems of a logistic type $$-div(|{\nabla}_u|^{m-2}{\nabla}_u)\;=\;w(x)u^q\;-\;(a(x))^{\frac{m}{2}}\;f(u)$$ in a bounded domain of $\mathbf{R}^N$ with boundary $\partial\Omega$ of class $C^2$, $u|_{\partial\Omega}\;=\;+{\infty}$, $\omega\;\in\;L^{\infty}(\Omega)$, 0 < q < 1 and $a\;{\in}\;C^{\alpha}(\bar{\Omega})$, $\mathbf{R}^+$ is non-negative for some $\alpha\;\in$ (0,1), where $\mathbf{R}^+\;=\;[0,\;\infty)$. Under suitable growth assumptions on a, b and f, we show the exact blow-up rate and uniqueness of the large solutions. Our proof is based on the method of sub-supersolution.

  • In this paper we consider a class of nonlocal parabolic equations in bounded domains with Dirichlet boundary conditions and a new class of nonlinearities. We first prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions by using the compactness method. Then we study the existence and fractal dimension estimates of the global attractor for the continuous semigroup generated by the problem. We also prove the existence of stationary solutions and give a sufficient condition for the uniqueness and global exponential stability of the stationary solution. The main novelty of the obtained results is that no restriction is imposed on the upper growth of the nonlinearities.

  • We investigate the existence of solutions u(x, t) for a perturbation b[$(\xi+\eta+1)^+-1$] of the hyperbolic system with Dirichlet boundary condition (0.1) = $L\xi-{\mu}[(\xi+\eta+1)^+-1]+f$ in $(-\frac{\pi}{2},\frac{\pi}{2}\;{\times})\;\mathbb{R}$, $L\eta={\nu}[(\xi+\eta+1)^+-1]+f$ in $(-\frac{\pi}{2},\frac{\pi}{2}\;{\times})\;\mathbb{R}$ where $u^+$ = max{u,0}, ${\mu},\nu$ are nonzero constants. Here $\xi,\eta$ are periodic functions.

  • This paper deals with a means to reproduce sound field by using Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral equation. We control boundary value or generate sound sources on the boundary in order to control the sound field as we want. The method assumes that there is a unique relation between sound field and its boundary should. Otherwise the reproduced sound field is different from what we want generate; the original sound field. Half-infinite sound field and finite sound field are considered and whether the uniqueness is hold or not and how the reproduced field is generated are discussed in each case.

  • The purpose of this paper is to give a sufficient condition for the existence, nonexistence and uniqueness of coexistence of positive solutions to a rather general type of elliptic competition system of the Dirichlet problem on the bounded domain ${\Omega}$ in $R^n$. The techniques used in this paper are upper-lower solutions, maximum principles and spectrum estimates. The arguments also rely on some detailed properties for the solution of logistic equations. This result yields an algebraically computable criterion for the positive coexistence of competing species of animals in many biological models.

  • In this paper, we deal with the problem of uniqueness of meromorphic functions that share two small functions with their derivatives, and obtain the following result which improves a result of Yao and Li: Let f(z) be a nonconstant meromorphic function, k > 5 be an integer. If f(z) and g(z) = $a_1(z)f(z)+a_2(z)f^{(k)}(z)$ share the value 0 CM, and share b(z) IM, $\overline{N}_E(r,f=0=F^{(k)})=S(r)$, f${\equiv}$g, where $a_1(z)$, $a_2(z)$ and b(z) are small functions of f(z).

  • We develop an invariant local theory of Lorentz surfaces in pseudo-Euclidean 4-space by use of a linear map of Weingarten type. We find a geometrically determined moving frame field at each point of the surface and obtain a system of geometric functions. We prove a fundamental existence and uniqueness theorem in terms of these functions. On any Lorentz surface with parallel normalized mean curvature vector field we introduce special geometric (canonical) parameters and prove that any such surface is determined up to a rigid motion by three invariant functions satisfying three natural partial differential equations. In this way we minimize the number of functions and the number of partial differential equations determining the surface, which solves the Lund-Regge problem for this class of surfaces.

  • In this paper, we establish sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of solution for a class of initial boundary value problems with Dirichlet condition in regard to a category of fractional-order partial differential equations. The results are established by a method based on the theorem of Lax Milligram.

  • In this article, we are devoted to study the problem of the existence, uniqueness and positivity of the global solutions of the 3 × 3 reaction-diffusion systems with the total mass of the components with time. We also suppose that the nonlinear reaction term has a critical growth with respect to the gradient. The technique that we used to prove the global existence is the method of the compact semigroup.
