상고시대(上古時代)와 고조선시대(古朝鮮時代)의 의학(醫學)에 관(關)한 문헌적(文獻的) 고찰(考察) (A bibliographic study on medical science ancient period (上古時代) and the era of the old-Korea (古朝鮮時代))

  • As mentioned above, I got the next conclusion since I had considered the medical contents of the ancient period(上古時代) and the era of the old-Korea(古朝鮮時代) through several bibliographic records. 1. There were Pung-baeg(風伯), Uh-sa(雨師), Un-sa(雲師) that were the names of the governmental officials during the ancient period of Whan-ung(桓雄). Among them, Uh-sa specially managed the treatment for diseases. When we think of the significance of Pung(風)-which means the winds, Uh(雨)-which means the rain, Un(雲)-which means of clouds, we will find out that the human life will be affected by all kinds of phenomena of the nature. So I can infer that ancestries could prevent and treat diseases with adjusting them tn the changes in the weather. 2. There were five government officials(五事) in the ancient period of Whan-ung(桓雄上古時代). They are Uh-ga(牛加), Ma-ga(馬加), Ku-ga(狗加), Cheo-ga(猪加) and Yang-ga(羊加), and had charges of five important duties. Among them, Cheo-ga was set to a charge of treatment for diseases. So we can notice that there existed people who treated for diseases professionally. When we think of the meanings of Uh(牛)-which intends cows or bulls. Ma(馬)-which intends horses, Ku(狗)-which intends dogs, Cheo(猪)-which intends wild boars and Yang(羊)-which intends sheep, we can see that livestocks would be raised at that time, and they came to have more chances to digest meat. Since the digestion of meat became to be a burden on the stomach and the intestines, it might cause a lot of indigestive troubles. 3. When I compared Tan-gun Pal-ga(檀君八加) with the Oh-ga(五加) in the ancient period of Whan-ung(桓雄上古時代), I could tell that the community of Tan-gun's period is more advanced and specialized than one of Whan-ung's. When I think of the next sentence ; "The Prince Imperial, Bu-u(夫虞) become to be a Ro-ga(鷺加), who treat for diseases professionally.", I am sure that the treatment for diseases was more importment than any other things, because he was the third son of Tan-gun(檀君). 4. According to Tan-gun(檀君) mythology, Whan-ung(桓雄) came down from the heaven of the pure Yang(純陽) to the earth and then changed into a man who had had more Yang(陽) than Yin(陰). And a bear came up from the underground(or the cave) to the ground and then changed into a women who had had more Yin(陰) than Yang(陽). So both of them became to hold together. This story implicated that ancestors had taken a serious view of each of them, namely the ancestors didn't give the ascendance to the one side of them, and made much account of the mutual harmony. So I am sure that this fact coincided with the basic theories of oriental medical science. To refer to two proverbs of Tan-gun mythology that are "Ki-Sam-Chil-Il(忌三七日)" which means caring for twenty one days, and "Pul-Gyon-Il-Gwang-Baeg-Il(不見日光百日)" which means keeping indoors for one hundred days, I can tell you that "twenty-one-day" involves the principle of the birth of life, and "one-hundred-day" contains a preparatory period or the period of death to bear another life. 5. From the medical stuff, such as wormwood(艾), garlic(蒜), or wonder-working herbage(靈草), that had been written at the bibliographic papers of the ancient period(上古時代) and the era of the old-Korea(古朝鮮時代), I consider that many people might get a lot of women's diseases, indigestive troubles, and other diseases that were caused by the weakness, but with using various spices, such as the leaves of water pepper(蔘), they could prevent the occurrance of all kinds of diseases previously. So I regard this treatment as the medicine from food. 6. One of the sayings at Nae-gyong(內經) is that "The stone accupuncture(砭石) came from the orient." We can see both "wonder-wor-king wormwood(靈草)" and "dried wormwood(乾艾)" in the several bibliographic papers of the ancient history of the old-Korea(朝鮮上古史). From these records, I can be convinced that ancestors would utilize the acupuncture(針) and the moxa cautery(灸) to cure a patient of a disease. 7. Even though someone claimed that the book, "medical science and chemistry(醫學化學)" and "medical treatment(醫學大方)" had had been written during the ancient period of the old-Korea(上古朝鮮時代), such a fact can't have been ascertained historical evidence. But it has been handed down that there existed the original phonetic alphabet, such as the "Ka-Im-To alphabet(加臨土文字)" at that time. The terms about the diseases, which had been occurred at the community of the old-Korea(古朝鮮地域), were recorded fragmentarily at other records after that time. The origin of confucianism came from the race of the eastern barbarians, and Tae-Ho-Pok-Hi(太嗅伏義) and the king. Sun(舜) came from the eastern barbarians, too. The divination of tortoise shells at the country of Un(殷) is another from which was developed at the eastern barbarians' fortune-telling of animal bones. From these facts, I can infer that, by all means, they might record the medical knowledge which had been stored for thousands of years while contacting with china directly.

디자인의 형태와 기능에 관한 연구 (Essay on Form and Function Design)

  • There is nothing more important than the form and function in design, because every design product can be done on the basis of them. Form and Function are already existed before the word of design has been appeared and all the natural and man-made things' basic organization is based on their organic relations. The organic relations is the source of vitality which identifies the subsistance of all the objects and the evolution of living creatures has been changed their appearances by the natural law and order. Design is no exception. Design is a man-made organic thing which is developed its own way according to the purposed aim and given situations. If so, what is the ultimate goal of design. It is without saying that the goal is to make every effort to contribute to the -human beings most desirable life by the designer who is devoting himself to their convenience and well-being. Therefore, the designer can be called the man of rich life practitioner. This word implies a lot of meanings since the essence of design is improving the guality of life by the man-made things which are created by the designer. Also, the things are existed through the relations between form and function, and the things can keep their value when they are answered to the right purpose. In design, thus, it is to be a main concern how to create valuable things and to use them in the right way, and the subject of study is focused on the designer's outlook of value and uk relations between form and function. Christopher Alexander mentioned the importance of form as follows. The ultimate object of design is form. Every design problem begins with an effort to achieve fittness between the form and its context. The form is the solution to the problem: the context defmes the problem. In other words, when we speak of design, the real object of discussion is not form alone, but the ensemble comprising the form and its context. Good fit is a desirable property of this ensemble which relates to some particular division of the ensemble into form and context. Max Bill mainatined how important form is in design. Form represents a self-contained concept, and its embodiment in an object results in that object becoming a work of art. Futhermore, this explains why we use form so freguently in a comparative sense for determining whether one thing is less or more beautiful than another, and why the ideal of absolute beauty is always the standard by which we appraise form, and through form, art itself. Hence form has became synonymous with beauty. On the other hand, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy stated the importance of function as follows. Function means the task an object is designed to fulfill the task instrument is shaping the form. Unfortunately, this principle was not appreciated at the same time but through the endeavors of Frank Lloyd Wright and of the Bauhaus group and its many collegues in Europe, the idea of functionalism became the keynote of the twenites. Functionalism soon became a cheap slogan, however, and its original meaning blurred. It is neccessary to reexamine it in the light of present circumstances. Charles William Eliot expressed his idea on the relations between function and beauty. Beauty often results chiefly from fittness: indeed it is easy to manitain that nothing is fair except what is fit its uses or functions. If the function of the product of a machine be useful and valuable, an the machine be eminently fit for its function, it conspicuously has the beauty of fittness. A locomotive or a steamship has the same sort of beauty, derived from the supreme fittness for its function. As functions vary, so will those beauty..vary. However, it is impossible to study form and function in separate beings. Function can't be existed without form, and without function, form is nothing. In other words, form is a function's container, and function is content in form. It can be said that, therefore, the form and function are indispensable and commensal individuals which have coetemal relations. From the different point of view, sometimes, one is more emphasized than the other, but in this case, the logic is only accepted on the assumption of recognizing the importance of the other's entity. The fact can be proved what Frank Hoyd wright said that form and function are one. In spite of that, the form and function should be considered as independent indivisuals, because they are too important to be treated just as the simple single one. Form and function have flexible properties to the context. In other words, the context plays a role as the barometer to define the form and function, also which implies every meaning of surroun'||'&'||'not;dings. Thus, design is formed under the influence of situations. Situations are dynamic, like the design process itself, in which fixed focus can be cripping. Moreover, situations control over making the good design. Judging from the respect, I defined the good design in my thesis An Analytic Research on Desigh Ethic, "good design is to solve the problem by the most proper way in the situations." Situations are changeable, and so is design. There is no progress without change, but change is not neccessarily progress. It is highly desirable that there changes be beneficial to mankind. Our main problem is to be able to discriminate between that which should be discarded and that which should be kept, built upon, and improved. Form and Function are no exception. The practical function gives birth to the inevitable form and the $$\mu$ti-classified function is delivered to the varieties of form. All of these are depended upon changeable situations. That is precisely the situations of "situation de'||'&'||'not;sign", the concept of moving from the design of things to the design of the circumstances in which things are used. From this point of view, the core of form and function is depended upon how the designer can manage it efficiently in given situations. That is to say that the creativity designer plays an important role to fulfill the purpose. Generally speaking, creativity is the organization of a concept in response to a human need-a solution that is both satisfying and innovative. In order to meet human needs, creative design activities require a special intuitive insight which is set into motion by purposeful imagination. Therefore, creativity is the most essential quality of every designer. In addition, designers share with other creative people a compulsive ingenuity and a passion for imaginative solutions which will meet their criteria for excellence. Ultimately, it is said that the form and function is the matter which belongs to the desire of creative designers who constantly try to bring new thing into being to create new things. In accordance with that the main puppose of this thesis is to catch every meaning of the form and function and to close analyze their relations for the promotion of understanding and devising practical application to gradual progression in design. The thesis is composed of four parts: Introduction, Form, Function and Conclusion. Introduction, the purpose and background of the research are presented. In Chapter I, orgin of form, perception of form, and classification of form are studied. In Chapter II, generation of function, development of function, and diversification of function are considered. Conclusion, some concluding words are mentioned.ioned.

일제하(1920~30연대) 조선과 대만 그리고 프랑스와 독일 수형인의 식품공급상황 비교 (Comparison of Food Supply Status of Korean(Chosun) and Taiwan Prisoners under the Period of Japanese Rule with That of French and German Prisoners in 1920~1930′s)

  • 1920~30년대 일제 하 개성 소년형무소를 비롯한 조선내 형무소의 주식공급량과 대만 신죽 소년형무소 및 프랑스 후레누 감화원, 독일 모아비트 구치소간의 영양조사 자료를 통해 당시 세계공황과 일본의 식량난 속에서 수형인의 식생활 실태를 재검토한 결과를 다음과 같다. 1. 1920년대 조선내 형무소의 주식공급상태 1) 식사가 12등급으로 나누어 제공되었으며 급여열량의 차이로 볼 때 활동정도에 따라 구분하였을 것이다. 목포형무소 1등급이 6045.0 ㎉, 마산형무소 12등급이 1855.8 ㎉로 각 형무소의 잡곡사용비유과 식이등급에 따라 열량공급량의 차이가 큰 것을 알 수 있다. 2) 단백질, 지방, 탄수화물의 평균 열량비가 20.0 : 20.2 : 59.8로 단백질의 공급량이 의외로 높은데 이것은 주식 중 콩의 비율이 높기 때문이다. 개성형무소를 제외하고 주식 중 콩의 사용비율은 20~60%이다. 주식에서의 단백질의 양이 높다하더라도 모두 식물성단백질이지만 다른 곡물에 부족한 lysine에 대한 보충작용의 효과가 컸을 것으로 기대된다. 3) 콩을 공급하지 않은 개성소년형무소는 단백질과 지방의 열량비가 각각 8.3%, 8.1%로 낮고 탄수화물의 공급량이 높아 성장기 소년 수형인에게는 부적절하다고 사료된다. 2. 각 형무소의 영양공급량의 종합적 비교 대만 프랑스, 독일 형무소와 본 논문의 전보로 수행된 (Kim CH 2003) 조선 경성형무소의 영양상황을 종합적으로 파악하기 위하여 중등활동을 하는 수형인에게 공급된 영양량으로 비교하면 다음과 같다. 1) 경성형무소 중등활동 수형인에게 공급된 열량은 1일 3966.5 ㎉, 단백질, 지방, 탄수화물의 열량비는 18.9 : 16.6 : 64.5로 단백질은 약간 높고 지방은 약간 낮으나 3대 영양소의 균형정도는 양호하다고 볼 수 있으며 오히려 총열량이 너무 높은 것으로 사료된다. 2) 대만 신죽 소년형무소에서는 주식은 쌀과 고구마를 7:3으로 혼합하여 6등급으로 구분하여 공급하였으며 부식은 1주일 cycle menu로 작성되었다. 열량섭취량은 1등급에서 2862.9 ㎉, 6등급에서 1388.9 ㎉로 성장기 소년 수형인에게는 충분한 공급이라고 할 수 없다. 단백질과 지방의 열량 섭취량도 적으나 돼지고기, 돼지기름, 잡어, 유부등의 음식을 제공하므로 동물성 단백질과 지방이 어느 정도 공급되었을 것이다. 3) 프랑스 후레누 감화원과 독일 모아비트 구치소는 1일 총열량섭취량이 각각 2771.3 ㎉, 2678.7 ㎉로 당시 열량권장 기준으로 간주되었던 3000 ㎉, 현재 중등활동 성인열량권장량인 2500 ㎉ 어느 쪽으로 비교해도 적정량이 공급되었다고 할 수 있으며, PFC 비율은 후레누 감화원에서 16.2 : 12.0 : 71.8로 지방이 부족하고, 모아비트 구치소에서는 12.4 : 14.3 : 73.3으로 단백질과 지방이 약간 부족하다고 볼 수 있다. 4) 법무부 급식관리위원회의 수용자 급식기준과 각 형무소의 보통활동 수형자를 위해 공급하는 영양량을 종합적으로 비교해보면 총열량 공급량은 조선 경성형무소(Kim CH 2003)에서는 3966.5 ㎉로 급식기준열량의 159.9%로 공급량이 높았으며, 대만 신죽 형무소에서는 소년 수형자임에도 89.6%만을 공급하고 있었다. 프랑스와 독일은 각각 110.9%, 107.1%로 급식기준을 조금 넘는 적정열량에서 가까운 양을 공급하였다고 할 수 있다. 일제하의 조선, 세계공황 이후 식량이 극도로 부족한 상황에서 대만, 유럽의 프랑스와 독일 모두 단체로 수용되어 있는 수형인들에게 적정영양량을 찾기 위해 노력하였다는 것을 알 수 있다. 다만 조사된 것이 계획에 불과한 것이 아니었는지 의문시된다.

혐기(嫌氣) 및 호기조건하(好氣條件下)에서 토양처리(土壤處理)된 돈분(豚糞) 중(中) 질소형태변화(窒素形態變化) (Transformation of Nitrogen Derived from Solid Piggery Manure in Soil under Aerobic or Anaerobic Incubation Condition)

  • 혐기(嫌氣) 및 호기(好氣)조건하에서 토양(土壤)에 처리(處理)된 돈분(豚糞) 중 질소행동(窒素行動)에 관한 기초자료(基礎資料)를 얻고자 사양토(砂壤土)에 생돈분(生豚糞) 및 발효돈분(醱酵豚糞)을 2:1로 혼합하고 혐기(嫌氣) 및 호기조건하(好氣條件下)에서 8주간(週間) 항온(恒溫)($30^+/-1^{\circ}C$) 하면서 토양(土壤)과 돈분(豚糞) 혼합물(混合物)의 pH 변화와 $CH_4$ 발생량(發生量) 그리고 무기태질소(無機態窒素) 농도(濃度)변화를 조사(調査)하였다. 토양(土壤)에 생돈분(生豚糞)처리시 혐기조건(嫌氣條件)에서의 pH가 호기조건(好氣條件)에서 보다 1.87 단위(單位) 낮아졌고 발효돈분(醱酵豚糞) 처리에서는 혐기(嫌氣), 호기조건(好氣條件) 간에 pH 차이가 적었다. 혐기(嫌氣)조건에서 항온기간(恒溫期間) 경과에 따른 pH 감소(減少) 회귀식(回歸式)(P<0.01)으로 부터 얻어진 회귀계수(回歸係數)는 생돈분(生豚糞)에서 -0.114, 발효(醱酵)돈분에서 -0.08로 발효돈분(醱酵豚糞)에 비하여 생돈분(生豚糞)에서 pH 감소율(減少率)이 컸다. 생돈분(生豚糞), 발효돈분(醱酵豚糞)을 토양에 처리시 혐기(嫌氣)조건에서 $CH_4$ 발생량은 항온(恒溫) 3주(週)까지는 두처리 간에 차이가 없었으나 3주(週) 이후에는 생돈분(生豚糞)에서의 $CH_4$ 발생량이 현저히 증가되었으며 8주(週) 까지의 누적(累積) $CH_4$ 발생량은 발효돈분(醱酵豚糞)에 비하여 3.2배(倍) 증가되었다. 항온(恒溫) 3주(週)부터 8주(週)까지 일당(日當) $CH_4$ 발생량은 생돈분(生豚糞)에서 0.211 mole/g, 발효돈분(醱酵豚糞)에서 0.046 mole/g였다. 호기조건(好氣條件)에서 생돈분(生豚糞)처리시 $NH_4-N$ 농도는 항온기간(恒溫期間)이 경과(經過)됨에 따라 점차 감소(減少)되었으며 $NO_3-N$ 농도는 초기(初期)에 11.2 ppm에서 8주(週) 후(後)에 67ppm으로 6배(倍) 증가되었는데 이러한 결과는 호기(好氣)조건의 발효돈분(醱酵豚糞)에서도 유사(類似)한 경향이었다. 그러나 혐기(嫌氣)조건에서는 항온기간별(恒溫期間別) $NH_4-N$ 농도가 급격(急激)히 증가되었으나 $NO_3-N$ 농도는 4~8ppm으로 호기조건(好氣條件)에 비하여 매우 낮았다.

흉곽출구증후군 환자의 수술성적 (The Surgical Outcome of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome)

  • 배경: 흉곽출구증후군은 상지에 분포하는 신경, 혈관 다발의 눌림에 의해 통증, 감각이상 및 부종 등이 발생하는 질환으로 국내에는 그 보고된 예가 적고 특히 수술까지 이른 경우는 드물다. 상기 질환으로 수술적 치료를 시행 받은 환자의 임상양상 및 그 결과를 분석하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 2002년 5월부터 2004년 10월까지 상기 질환으로 진단되어 수술까지 시행한 16명을 대상으로 하였다. 수술의 적응증은 1)일상생활을 수행하는데 지장을 줄 정도의 통증 및 감각마비, 부종 등의 증상이 있으며 2) 적절한 물리치료 후에도 증상의 호전이 없고 3) MRI및 혈관촬영에서 늑골 및 쇄골에 의하여 흉곽 출구의 구조물이 확실하게 눌린 소견이 있으며 4)경추부 추간판 탈출증, 근염, 상완신경총 이하의 신경병변 등을 배제하기 위한 검사를 하여 해당사항이 없는 환자에 한정하였다. 수술 방법은 12예는 액와부접근법을, 2예는 쇄골상부 접근법을, 나머지 2예는 쇄골하부접근법을 사용하였다. 걸과: 환자의 연령은 평균 23.9세($\pm$6.3)였으며 남자가 15명으로 대다수를 차지하였다. 늑골 기형이 있는 환자가 4예(25.0$\%$)였고 나머지는 늑골의 이상은 없었다. 우측병변이 8예(50.0$\%$), 좌측병변이 5예(31.3$\%$), 양측병변이 3예(18.7$\%$)였다. 수술 후 9$\∼$26개월의 추적관찰에서 재발률은 12.5$\%$ (2/16)였다. 합병증으로는 1예에서 수술 중 팔신경얼기의 견인에 의한 손상으로 발생한 척골 신경 마비와 술 후 사진에서 호전되었음에도 지속적인 통증이 1예 있었고, 지방괴사와 혈종에 의한 상처의 파열 및 재수술이 3예였다. 결론: 흉곽유출증후군 환자에서 수술이 효과가 있는가에 대하여는 논란이 되고 있으나, 물리 치료에 반응이 없는 환자에게는 적극적인 수술이 좋은 치료 방법이며 빠른 사회 생활의 복귀에 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다.

  • 세계는 지금 보이지 않는 또 하나의 전쟁을 준비하고 있다. 정보ㆍ통신기술의 혁명은 물론 문화에 대한 인식의 전환과 부가가치 창출을 통한 디지털 경제의 문화전쟁이 그 실체이다. “각종 미디어에 담긴 내용물”로 요약되는 컨텐츠(Content)가 생명력을 가지면서 선진국들은 “문화산업” 이라는 무기를 들고 전쟁을 준비하고 있다. 디지털 경제 전문가들은 “문화전쟁에서 패하는 국가는 뉴 밀레니엄 시대에 경제 식민지로 전락할 것” 이라고 한다. 문화산업의 가장 중요한 특징은 창의성과 문화성의 결합인데, 지식을 기반으로 한 창조력에 더하여 문화적 가치를 부여한다는 것이다. 이는 한 국가나 지역, 각 문화 권 간의 치열한 경쟁이 유발되는 것을 의미하며 여기에서 살아남기 위해서는 독특한 자신만의 문화적 가치에 대한 인식을 통해 이를 산업구조화 하는 방법들을 개발해야 할 것이다. 당장의 가시적인 제품의 개발과 신규산업에 대한 투자보다는 문화적 가치를 산업과 접목시키는 방안을 탐구해야 할 것이다. 멀티미디어시대는 미디어의 독립적 지위를 허용하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 디지털 세계에서 컨텐츠 상품의 수명이 반영구적이라는 사실이 확인되면서 미래를 선도하는 산업으로 등장하고 있다. 시장원리에 따른 각 국 간의 경쟁과 발전된 기술에 의한 미디어의 고기능화ㆍ다양화 멀티미디어 기술의 포화상태에 따라 경쟁의 승부수는 컨텐츠의 질과 양에 좌우되게 되었다. 문화ㆍ과학ㆍ경제 산업이라는 개별적 관점의 영역구분을 벗어나 이 모든 것이 하나의 체계적인 통합구조로 재편되고 있는 상창에서 국가적 경쟁력 확보와 고유한 문화적 정체성 표출을 위한 패러다임의 전환이 시급해지면서 세계 각국들은 고유의 민족문화에서 세계적 보편성을 찾고 타문화와 차별되는 독창성을 부각시킨 고유디자인의 개발로 효율성의 극대화를 꾀하고 있다. 이에 따라 우리의 전통 문화 유산에서 독창적인 조형요소를 발굴, 이를 디자인 창출에 활용하여 세계시장에서 한국적 문화 이미지의 제고를 기할 수 있는 다양한 접근방법의 개발이 필요한 시점이다. 문화유산의 가치를 학술적, 유물적 차원에만 머물게 할 것이 아니라 이를 현대적 의미로 새롭게 조명하고 창조적인 삶의 질을 결정짓는 핵심적 요소들을 찾아내 고유한 디자인 양식으로 풀어내는 문화적 계승이 필요한 것이다. 우리 문양은 민족의 문화원형이자 조형기호로 상징적 체계와 미의식이 반영되어 있는 것이다. 현대적 구현과 계승이라는 측면에서 한국문양에 대한 새로운 이해와 분석을 토대로 한 정보자료화ㆍ디지털 컨텐츠화 작업은 독창적인 디자인 표현양식과 모티브의 발굴ㆍ정리일 뿐만 아니라 다양한 미디어로 승부하는 작금의 문화경쟁시대를 대비하는 하나의 노력이 될 것이다.

한국인(韓國人)의 균형식(均衡食) 권장에 관한 연구(硏究) -한국인(韓國人)의 식생활(食生活)의 추이(해방후 30년간)- (Research on Proper Dietary Recommendations for Korea)

  • This study was designed to evaluate the changes and improvements in the Korean diet during the last thirty years (since independence in 1945), and to make recommendations for the improvement of their nutritional status, consequently contributing to the physical and mental welfare of the Korean people. The results and recommendations are as follows: 1. The total calorie and carbohydrate intake decreased by $8{\sim}12%$ in the 1970's, as compared with the 1940's and the 1950's. 2. The intake of calcium and vitamiu A increased $30{\sim}50%$ and $20{\sim}60%$ respectively in the 1960's and 1970's as compared with the 1940,s. But this intake level is still lower than the RDA values. 3. The vitamin C intake was somewhat higher in the mountainous and farming areas than in urban areas. 4. In the 1970's, the decrease of untriend intake due to seasonal variation was marked especially for protein, niacin, vitamin $B_1$, and vitamin C. 5. The consumption of protein foods (meats and legumes) increased in an amount of $15{\sim}36g$ per day. There was a marked increase in the intake of meat in farming areas and of milk in urban areas in the 1970's. This increased intake of animal proteins is a very desirable dietary change. 6. The cereal consumption was lowest in urban areal, but there was a general decrease in the intake of the cereal group in the entire area in the 1970's. For the farmers, the intake of cereal food decreased most, from 750 g to 576 g, but cereals still composed a high proportion of the entire diet. 7. Fruits and vegetables showed the highest intake for the urban people, as expected. For the whole area, this food group showed an increase of 8.7% in the 1970's, as compared with the 1960's. 8. The gradual ihcrease in the intake of the fats and oil group was a desirable dietary change. but the absolute amount was too low. 9. A 7% increase in height and a 9% incrrase in weight for growing children and adolescents was observed in the 1970's as compared with the 1940's, but several kinds of deficiency diseases, such as nutritional anemia and dental caries were still apparent in many areas. 10. To improve cur food life and to cope with food shortages faced in Korea, an efficient and nationwide nutrition education program should be implemented. This would maximize efficiency of intake from the limited food sources for a balanced diet. 11. As it is of utmost importance to provide growing children with a desirable physical, sccial mental, and especially nutritional environment, a well-planned and organized school feeding program should be practiced widely and efficiently. 12. Young mothers and pregnant women should be educated on the importance of their children's nutrition, especially for the critical fetal and infancy periods. 13. More thorough and continuous nutritional survey studies on the changes in dietary patterns for the entire nation should be pursued, evaluated and documented. This would Provide a good information guide for future nutritional study programs. 14. It is the nutritionistist's strong desire that national leaders, especially decision makers recognize the fact that improvement of the nutritional status of the People is one of the most economic and preventative ways of improving their physical and mental health. This is closely related to the economic development and strength of the nation.

현대여성(現代女性)의 의복의식(衣服意識)에 관한 조사(調査) 연구(硏究) - 서울 지역(地域)의 양복(洋服) 착용자(着用者)를 중심(中心)으로 -

  • This article is an attempt to explain, at least in part, the contemporary Korean women's consciousness of Western Dreasses. As time changes, the role of clothing undergoes varisous transitions, while values and ways of life are constantly in change. It is, therefore, proper and appropriate to recognize as among the major aspects of social psychology such phenomenon as interests, understanding of clothing, the choice of a dress, and attitudes toward clothing, etc. The purpose of this study is to discover problems concerning and their clothing and their solutions, by means of a surveying approach. The method of research used is based upon questionares distributed to parents of first-year pupils in elementary schools and to female clerks working in offices, covering the period from August through October, 1976. The number of the questionares distrubuted totalled 600, and 526 were returned to the research to be utilized for analysis. The contents of the survey included such things as values concerning clothing, kinds of clothing and their practical use, the selection of clothing and the method of purchase, fashions, etc. The classification of aquisition are self-made clothing, clothing made to order and ready-made materials. It is composed of 25 items, including affirmative reasons as well as negative ones. The processing of the material returned was made by using the computer, and based upon classifications such as ages, monthly income, occupations; thus diagraming the result in percentages. The conclusion made and the improvements proposed are as follows: 1. The values of clothing were placed on the expression of the wearer's personality (32.7) and on eauty(28. 6%). The lower age group places is stress upon the expression of personality, while the higher age group stresses beauty. About 50% of wearers are contented with their clothing, their clothing, the rest of whom them indicating their dissatisfaction with what they wear. As to designs at the time of selection, about 46% indicated their preference of personal expression, 31.8% on usefulness. In selecting material, practicality is emphasized; in selecting patterns, single color is preferred. In short, personal expression and esthetic values are primary, with consideration of practicality in mind. 2. The classification of clothing according to their uses indicates the highest numbers in normal wear (home wears) and clothings to be worn outside home. As to evening dresses, (party dress) only one or two articles were checked by many, and no such article was clamed to be possessed by most. The highest ratio of wearing was shown in the case of home wear (47.3%) and clothing to be worn outside the home, which is 55.8%. The budget for one article of clothing was greatest in the case of home wear, and clothing worn outside the home. Many used both kinds of articles for the same purpose. It is desirable, therefore, that the kinds of clothing should be varied according to the purpose for which they are worn, and that clothing appropriate for that purpose should be worn. 3. The motivation for purchasing clothing was highly chosen in the item of seasonal change, which was 55.7%; Clothing deliberately made was indicated by 45.2%. In the mothods of purchasing clothing, clothing made to order and ready-made was indicated by 44.4%, which is the highest; Clothing made to order was 25.4%, and self-sewing was 1.1%, which is the lowest. (1) In the case of self-sewing, "I like it but it is very hard," was checked by 43.6%; "It is so difficult that I cannot wear such clothing" was checked by 13.3%. From these, we can conclude that the questionees are willing to make clothing by themselves, but techniques involved in sewing and at her problems involved in the skill are complicated but when those problems are eliminated there is a possibility for practice. The response checked by questionees concerning the self-sewing was, "It's economical", which is a clear indication that many questionees are positive for self-sewing. It is generally believed that ready-made clothing is cheaper, but it is not necessarily so. In consideration of the quality of clothing, self-sewing is a necessity, and it is desirable that it should be encouraged. (3) Problems involved in ready-made clothing, such as designs, skills, size (fitting) should be eliminated. When these problems are scientifically gotten rid of, it is possible that affirmative returns will be expected. Affirmative responses such as "Ready-made clothing is economical," "You can select there on the spot," are good signs that many women expect to wear ready-made clothing. It is in this sense that the prospect for ready-made clothing is brighter when much development for ready-made clothing is on the way. 4. Much concern for fashion are checked in such item of questions as "Fashionable clothing in the show window," "Clothes worn by women." The first item was checked by 50.1 %, and the second was checked by 48.6%. The reason for following fashion is "Because many people wear them," which was indicated by 30.4%. The reason for not following fashion is "It is too expensive," which was checked by 29.6%. The 26.2% of the answers indicated that "Fashionable clothing is devoid of personality," The influences of fashion over the development of fashion over the development of clothing are two-fold: Esthetic and active. It is not to be deniable that people follow fashion more or less. 1978.9>

<니모를 찾아서> 캐릭터에 내재된 두려움과 욕망 분석: 에니어그램 성격유형론에 근거하여 (An Analysis of the Inherent Fear and Desire of the Character: Based on the Enneargram Personality Types Theory)

  • 픽사(Pixar)의 2003년 작품 <니모를 찾아서>는 흥행과 비평 면에서 크게 성공함으로써 픽사를 가장 영향력 있는 애니메이션 제작사의 위치에 올려놓았다. 특히 캐릭터 중심의 서사전략은 캐릭터 성격화와 관계성의 완성도를 크게 높임으로써 캐릭터라이징의 교과서라 할 만한 업적을 이루었다. 본 연구에서는 <니모를 찾아서>의 캐릭터에 내재된 두려움과 욕망에 주목했는데, 캐릭터 성격화와 관계성을 보다 역동적이며 입체적으로 강화하는 요소라고 여겼기 때문이다. 일반적으로 인간은 두려움과 욕망에 의해 모든 선택과 행동의 방향이 정해지기 때문에 삶이 이 두 가지 요소의 지배를 받는다고 여겨지고 있다. 이러한 관점에서<니모를 찾아서>의 캐릭터라이징은 크게 세 가지 특성을 갖고 있다. 그것은 (1) 픽사의 다른 어떤 작품보다도 캐릭터의 내재된 두려움을 명확히 하고 있으며, 그 두려움을 회피하는 노력이 서사화 된다는 점. (2) 에니어그램 성격유형에서 정립한 두려움과 욕망에 의한 성격역동과 놀랍도록 일치한다는 점. (3) 중심 캐릭터(멀린, 니모)가 서로 떨어져 있는 구출과 탈출 플롯의 특성 상, 두려움이 해소되는 방식이 중심 캐릭터간의 상호 성격역동에 의한 것이 아닌, 중심 캐릭터의 결핍을 보완하는 정신적 가치를, 주변 캐릭터(도리, 길)로 성격화하여 이루어졌다는 점이다. 선행연구 작품인 <쿵푸팬더>에서는 팬더 포의 캐릭터라이징이 너무 월등하다는 점이 역설적인 한계로 작용하지만, 중심 캐릭터(포, 시푸)의 두려움+욕망 설정과 상호 성격역동은 매우 정교하며 효과적이었다. 반면에 <니모를 찾아서>는 중심 캐릭터인 아빠와 아들간의 갈등이 해결되는 과정에서 다양한 캐릭터와 서브플롯을 선보이며 신선한 재미와 견고한 서사구조를 갖추고 있지만, 중심 캐릭터의 두려움과 욕망 설정의 완성도가 매우 뛰어남에도 불구하고, 그 해소의 과정이 다소 의존적이라는 한계를 드러내고 있다. 끝으로 본 연구가 애니메이션 캐릭터라이징과 관련하여 또 다른 접근방법이 될 수 있으리라 사료되며, 캐릭터 성격화와 관계성 설정 시 도움이 되길 희망한다.

미술 공예 운동과 후기 인상주의 비교 예술론 연구 (A Study on the Comparative Art theory in the Arts and Crafts Movement and Post-impressionism)

  • The history of modern design begins with the arts and crafts movement(1860). The importance of the movement which decorated the outset gave birth to all the trends of thought which would occur under the circumstances within it, and is deemed that the ideas of the figures who played an active part in the movement might be ceaselessly continued through the works and ideas of their outstanding juniors or purpils as a doctrine of the philosophy of design. Therefore, it might be a prerequisite that the significance and spirit of the movement, and its developing process should be addressed in detail in the first place, but for the limited space of this paper, it was intended to desvribe only the part which can be interpreted in duplicate, linked with post-impressionism. The subject of this thesis is about a theory of art in which both ideas of the movement(1860) and the post-impressionism(1910) are comparatively reviewed. The genre, strictly speaking, is classified into the history of painting, and there is a gap fo about an half century between the issues which are comparatively discussed here. Both the movements began in a same environmental place of England, specially the movement at Milieu in England, and since there is a common point that the representative runners of each movement, William Morries(1834-1896) and Roger Fry(1866-1934), belong to a same race of Engol-Saxon, their ideas coincide with an aesthetic scholar, H. Tanie's aesthetic interpretation method and the more important is, as being elucidated in the comment and aesthetic theory for which Roger Fry gave effort and activity in his later life, that when he read intensively Ruskin's books, $\ulcorner$Modern Painters$\lrcorner$and$\ulcorner$Stones of Venice$\lrcorner$he had solidified his idea of post-impressionism while giving approval and criticism on them. After all, as in a co-painter, Windyham Lewis's reference of 'Roger Fry's Too Late Morris Movement', he, inspired by the actual activities of Morris, played activities similar to that of Morris in which exhibiting and selling some of his decorative art works signed by him and the works of post-impressionism through (1913-1920). Herein, that is wished to add a remark by this author is a point that the author of$\ulcorner$Vision and Design$\lrcorner$, Roger Fry, has not be made a subject of discussion specially in the Korean world of design. So, with this case of a thesis, it's wished that many latent awakened, design persons in korea give efforts to researching into Roger Fry so that their findings could be officially announced in the would. By the way, what is tried to describe in this paper from now on is to analyse and review the origin of post-impressionism which idea was first coined in the art world through the 1st and 2nd exhibitions of 'Manet and Post-impressionism' which were opened each at the Grafton Gallery in 1910 and 1913 by him. And also, it is intended to review it through the art journals and some references by critics of the day in which favorable criticism or severe criticism were ready to comment through the opinions and influences of the coworkers of Roger Fry, say, Clive Bell, Desmond Maccarthy, etc. and of himself as a main axis, on the art ideas of Gauguin, Gogh, Matisse, and Cezanne whose works were the typical ones participated and exhibited in those 1st and 2nd exhibitions.
