유아의 또래 상호작용의 발달궤적과 그 예측변인: 잠재성장모형을 이용한 종단분석 (Trajectories of Child Peer Interaction and Their Predictors: Longitudinal Analysis Using Latent Growth Modeling)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate trajectories of child peer interaction and to compare the causal effects of their predictors, including child individual variables (i.e., gender, language ability, and cognitive ability) and teacher variables (i.e., teacher efficacy and teacher-child interaction). Methods: The participants of this study were 263 children and their teachers from the forth to sixth waves of longitudinal data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education. The data was analyzed using Pearson's correlation and latent growth modeling. Results and Conclusion: The findings of this study are as follows: First, there was a linear decrease in child negative peer interaction over the course of 3 years, and significant individual differences were found in the trajectories (intercept and slope). Second, the predictors had significant casual effects on the trajectories of child negative peer interaction. The trajectories of child negative peer interaction involving girls, higher cognitive ability, and greater teacher-child interaction showed lower degree of intercept and a quicker decrease. Finally, the implications of findings are discussed.

교사이미지와 교육실습에 대한 인식이 예비유아교사의 교육실습만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Teacher's Image and Recognition of Teaching Practice for Student Teacher's Practicum Satisfaction)

  • This research has an objective of investigating the challenges that student teachers encounter during practicum, the difference between teachers' image based on sociodemographic variables, recognition and satisfaction for practicum, and the effect of teachers' image and practicum experience on the satisfaction for the practicum. The participants of this study included 500 student teachers who enrolled in the department of early childhood education in a 2 or 3-year college or a 4-year university and completed practicum in the Chungcheong area. The instruments for this study were Teacher's Image Scale, Practicum Experience Scale, Practicum Satisfaction Scale and a questionnaire for sociodemographic variables. The results were as follows: First, the highest level of teachers' image was obtained for student teachers enrolled in a 2-year college, completed practicum in large cities and finished practicum at an institution with a size of 3-6 classes. Also, the highest level of 'recognition for practicum' of student teachers was observed when they were instructed by a guidance teacher with a degree from a graduate school and with a first degree certification in public kindergarten. Second, the satisfaction for practicum of student teachers was mostly affected by' the atmosphere of the practice institutions', while personality affected the teachers' image.

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to extend the gestalt theory in an attempt to explain the effect of garment clues(formality, color) perceiver's gender, and contexts on impression formation of a male high school teacher, and 2) to found out high school students' attitude toward their teacher's school outfits. The experimental design was a quasi-experimental with full factorial design of 4 independent variables : 3(formality levels)x2(garment colors)x2(perceiver's gender)x2(con- texts) The experimental materials developed for the study were a set of stimuli and response scale. The stimuli consisted of 12 color photographs produced by CAD system and response scale constituted of 28 bipolar adjectives representing personal traits. In addition to the qualitative research was also performed. The subjects composed of 277 male and 291 female high school students' in Taejeon city and research was a between subject design. The data was analysed by factor analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test. The major findings drawn from this study were as follows: 1. The perceivers impression were consisted of 4 major dimensions; evaluation, sociability, attractiveness, potency. 2. All the independent variables showed some significant impression effects on selected dimensions. Garment color indicate the most significant effects among the 4 independent variables and garment formality showed least effects. 3. The subjects of the study preferred suits(highest formality level garment) to semi-formal or casual outfits for male teacher's school outfits. In conclusion, 4 independent variables affected differently 4 major impression dimensions and garment formality and contexts showed significant interaction effect, this results supported the gestalt theory of impression formation.

한국과 중국 유아교사의 DAP 관련 신념과 교수실제의 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Early Childhood Teachers' Beliefs and Instructional Activities Regarding DAP in Korea and China)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between teachers' beliefs and instructional activities in regards to the DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Practice) of Korean and Chinese early childhood teachers. A number of both teacher variables and classroom environment variables were also examined. One hundred and ninety three Korean early childhood teachers and 385 Chinese early childhood teachers responded to the TeacherQuestionnaireas issued. The results of this study were as follows. First, Korean early childhood teachers showed higher scores in terms of teachers' beliefs about DAP than DIP (Developmentally Inappropriate Practice). Chinese early childhood teachers showed higher scores for teachers' beliefs about DIP. Second, Korean teachers' scores in terms of instructional activities for DAP showed differences depending on the degree of teaching experience and the teachers' age, and the scores for instructional activities related to DIP did not show any differences in any of the teacher variables. On the other hand, Chinese teachers exhibited different scores for the instructional activities for both DAP and DIP, again depending on the amount of teaching experience, the teachers' ages, and the ages of the children they taught. Third, a relationship between teachers' beliefs and instructional activities for DAP was found to be in evidence in Korea, but not in China.

남녀 청소년의 친사회적 행동 관련 변인 연구 (Correlates of Prosocial Behaviors in Male and Female Adolescents)

  • The variables studied in relation to adolescents' prosocial behaviors were grade, prosocial moral reasoning, empathy, self-esteem, parental prosocial behaviors, support and marital conflict, social economic status, peer prosocial behaviors and support, teacher support, school life satisfaction and achievement. The sample consisted of 837 seventh and tenth grade adolescents. Statistics and methods used for the data analysis were Cronbach's alpha, frequency, percentage, t-test, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. Several major results were found from the analysis. First, female students had more prosocial behaviors than male students. Second, male and female students' prosocial behaviors showed positive correlations with grade, prosocial moral reasoning, empathy, self-esteem, parental and peer prosocial behaviors and support, teacher support and school life satisfaction. However, female students' prosocial behaviors had a negative correlation with parental marital conflict. Third, important variables predicting male and female students' prosocial behaviors were empathy, peer prosocial behaviors and parental prosocial behaviors. Important variables predicting male students' prosocial behaviors were teacher support and prosocial moral reasoning. On the other hand, the important variable predicting female students' prosocial behaviors was self-esteem.

어린이집의 직무환경과 교사효능감 간의 관계에서 교사 정서지능의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effects of Teacher Emotional Intelligence in the Relationship Between Job Environments and Teacher Efficacy)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of teacher emotional intelligence in the relationship between job environments and teacher efficacy. Methods: Participants of this study were 205 child care teachers from U-city. Correlation analysis between variables was conducted with the collected data, and regression analysis was conducted to verify the mediating effect of emotional intelligence in the relationship between the job environment of daycare centers and teacher efficacy. Results: First, there was a positive correlation between job environments, teacher efficacy, and teacher emotional intelligence. Second, job environments and teacher emotional intelligence had a significant direct effect on teacher efficacy and teacher emotional intelligence also had a significant indirect effect between job environments and teacher efficacy. Conclusion/Implications: The way to improve the quality of child care is to improve the quality of teachers. Among the teacher's competencies, it is very important to increase teacher efficacy. Teacher efficacy plays a very important role in the quality of childcare and the healthy development of toddlers and children. In order to increase teacher efficacy, policy support for the job environment and training support to increase teacher efficacy are considered necessary.

청소년의 학교생활 부적응에 영향을 미치는 가족관련 변인 (Family-Related Variables Affecting Adolescents′ School Life Maladjustment)

  • The researcher worked with 1001 middle and high school students so as to inquire into family-related variables affecting adolescents' school life maladjustment, relying on average, standard deviation and hierarchical regression. The following are the major findings. 1) The research shows that to look into school life maladjustment on the basis of analysis models including family environment variables and family relationship variables in addition to family background variables offers more explanatory power. 2) Of all the variables, parent relationship variables turned out to have the greatest influences on maladjustment to teacher relationship and teaming activity areas among the subordinate areas of school life maladjustment. 3) Of all the variables, family's physical variables have the greatest influence on maladjustment to regulation-keeping relationship and opposite sex relationship among the subordinate areas of school life maladjustment. 4) Of all the variables, sibling relationship variables have the greatest influence on maladjustment to friendship among the subordinate areas of school life maladjustment. 5) Parent relationship variables have the greatest influence on total school life maladjustment followed by family physical environment, structural environment, the number of family members, cultural environment and residential variables in the right order.

성격특성, 사회적 지지가 유아 교사효능감에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Personality Traits and Social Support on Teacher's Efficacy of Early Childhood Teachers)

  • 본 연구는 유아교사 효능감에 영향을 미치는 교사 내, 외적 변인을 함께 알아봄으로써 유아교사 효능감을 높일 수 있는 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 선행연구를 바탕으로 교사효능감에 영향을 미치는 내적 변인으로 성격특성을 선정하였으며, 외적변인으로 사회적 지지를 선정하여 성격특성, 사회적 지지가 유아교사의 효능감에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가를 연구문제로 설정하였다. 본 연구대상은 대구, 경북에 위치한 유치원 및 어린이집 교사 285명이 선정되었다. 자료 분석은 연구대상의 일반적 특성을 살펴보기 위하여 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계분석을 실시하였고, 각 변인들이 교사효능감에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보기 위하여 단계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 성격특성, 사회적 지지는 유아교사 효능감에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났으며, 교수효능감 하위변인인 개인적 교사효능감에는 성실성, 신경성, 경험에 대한 개방성, 평가적지지가 영향을 미치며, 일반적 교사효능감에는 성실성, 친화성, 신경성이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 유아교사의 성격특성, 사회적지지가 교사효능감에 영향을 미치는 변인 중 하나임을 시사한다.

보육교사의 행복에 영향을 미치는 생태체계변인 연구 (The Ecological Variables Research on the Effect of Teacher's Happiness in Child Care Center)

  • 이 연구는 보육교사의 행복에 영향을 미치는 생태체계 변인을 분석하고자 하였다. 따라서 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 제주도 보육교사를 모집단으로 선정하고, 편의표본추출법을 통해 제주지역 사립 보육교육기관의 보육교사를 대상으로 설문지를 배포하여 분석하였다. 조사에 참여한 보육교사는 총 200명으로 불성실한 응답을 보인 20명의 자료를 제외한 총 180명의 자료를 SPSS 20.0 프로그램으로 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 연구결과 첫째, 유기체 변인 중 보육교사의 연령과 학력은 보육교사의 행복에 차이를 보였다. 즉 35세 이상의 보육교사는 다른 연령에 비해 행복이 높으며, 대졸 이상의 보육교사도 다른 학력에 비해 행복이 높다는 점이다. 둘째, 미시체계 변인 중 결혼여부만 행복에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 기혼자인 보육교사는 미혼자 보육교사에 비해 행복이 더 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 셋째, 중간체계 변인 중 유아-교사 상호작용이 높을수록, 부모-교사 상호작용이 높을수록 보육교사의 행복수준이 높았다. 넷째, 외체계 변인 중 근무환경과 직무자체 특성이 좋을수록 보육교사의 행복수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 행복한 보육교사에 대한 지속적인 관심과 근무환경 개선, 처우개선 등과 같은 국가적, 행정적 지원으로 현실적인 개선들이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

보육시설의 구조적, 과정적 변인 및 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 유아의 사회적 능력 (The Social Competence of Children with Reference to Day Care Center`s Structural, Process Variables and Demographic Variables)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the social competence of children with reference to day care center's structural, process variables and demographic variables. The subjects were 156 children who attend day care center, aged from 3 to 5 years and 9 teachers in Seoul or the province of KyungkiDo. Data were gathered via the structured Questionnaires distributed to the teachers to rate children's social competence and their own job satisfaction. And two observers rated teacher-child interaction in day care center The major findings are as follows The variables predicting children's social competence were child's sex, age, period of attendance in day care center, teacher's job satisfaction, and group size. Especially this study suggests that teachers who are highly satisfied with their job and small group size influence children's social competence positively.
