The Effect of Entrepreneurship of University Start-up Club Members on the Effectiveness of Start-up Club: Focus on the Moderating Effect of Club Members' Diversity (대학교 창업동아리원의 기업가정신이 동아리 효과성에 미치는 영향: 동아리 구성원 다양성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • In recent years, as interest in youth startup has increased, the Korean government has established various policies to support young entrepreneurs and actively implements such policies. Especially, as a way to promote youth startup, the development of startup clubs in universities is being suggested, and the importance of startup clubs is growing day by day. As reflected in these points, the Korean government is increasing its budget every year to support the startup clubs of universities, and actively supports the funds and space required for the startup clubs of universities. Unfortunately, however, despite the growing importance of startup clubs and the active support of the government for the startup clubs, academic attempts to see how effectively the startup clubs are operating are not enough. For this reason, this study analyzes the effect of entrepreneurship of university start-up club members on the effectiveness of start-up club. More specifically, in this study, entrepreneurship of club members is classified as risk-taking propensity, proactiveness, and innovativeness, as emphasized in previous researches. We empirically analyzed the effects of these independent variables on the effectiveness of the start-up clubs, focusing on the moderating effect of club members' diversity. We conducted empirical analyses on 1112 start-up club members from 12 universities located in Jeollanam-do and Jeollabuk-do, and the analysis results are as follows. First, the entrepreneurship of the start-up club members, namely risk taking propensity, proactiveness and innovativeness, all have a positive effect on the effectiveness of the start-up club. These results are consistent with the emphasis of many previous studies. The higher the tendency to take risks, the more inclined to move forward through difficulties, and the higher the tendency to break out of the existing framework and pursue new things, suggesting that the effectiveness of the club is enhanced. Second, as a result of verifying the moderating effect of the club members' diversity, it was found that club members' diversity moderates the relationship between the proactiveness of club members and club effectiveness in the negative (-) direction. In other words, the positive effect of the entrepreneurship of club members on the effectiveness of the start-up club means that the proactiveness is weakened in the case of a club having members from different major backgrounds. The results of this study are expected to provide meaningful theoretical and practical implications by identifying the influencing factors of the start-up club's effectiveness, which has not received much attention so far.

Analysis of Start-up Sustainability Factors Based on ERIS Model: Focusing on the Organization Resilience (ERIS모델 기반 창업지속요인 분석: 조직 리질리언스를 중심으로)

  • This study is based on ERIS model for start-up performance, and aims to derive the main reason for start-up sustainability centered on organizational resilience. To this end, systematic literature examination and modified Delphi method were used to investigate start-up sustainability factors based on ERIS Model focused on organizational resilience. The results showed that ERIS model-based entrepreneurial continuity factors were divided into four categories: entrepreneur, resource, industrial environment, strategy, subdivision 8 and detailed factors 54. In addition, the ERIS model-based continuity factors were structured around organizational resilience, and the continuity factors were structured according to ERIS model under five categories: leadership, culture, people, system and environment. The results of this study are as follows. First of all, the results of existing research and analysis show that the concept of successful start-up and sustainability of start-up are used in various fields. Second, it is confirmed that there are common factors of influence on start-up performance and start-up sustainability based on ERIS model. Third, Delphi method's results showed that the general characteristics of entrepreneurs, such as academic background, education level, gender, age, and business experience did not affect the sustainability of entrepreneurship. This study is significant in that it is based on ERIS model focused on organization resilience, and ERIS-R, which integrates Strategy into System and Organization resilience into R in the field of gradually expanding start-up development and support. It is expected that the results of this study will improve the sustainability of start-up that can predict, prevent, and overcome various crises at any time.

  • A main purpose of this research is to identify success factors of start-up based on the AER case study. As a result of case analysis, In the early stage, the success factors of start-up are the entrepreneur's history, experience, expertise, prompt judgment, problem-solving ability, the capacity and teamwork of its members, business networks and supporting government start-ups. In the commercialization stage, securing commercialization and investment funds, timing, differentiation strategy, overseas advancement, and acceptance of customer feedback are important. In the growth stage (maturity stage), new product launches and diversification, and establishment of organizational culture are important. Based on the results of this analysis, this study sought success factors and implications for each stage and sought research directions in the future.

A Study on the Trend Change of Restaurant Entrepreneurship through Big Data Analysis

  • Notable trends in the restaurant start-up market after the lifting of social distancing include increasing interest in start-ups, emphasizing the importance of food quality and diversity, decreasing the relative importance of delivery services, and increasing interest in certain industries. The data collection period is three years from April 2021 to May 2023, including before and after social distancing, and texts extracted from blogs, news, cafes, web documents, and intellectuals provided by Naver, Daum, and Google were collected. For the collected data, the top 30 words were derived through a refining process. In addition, based on April 2021, the application period of social distancing, data from April 2021 to April 2022, and data from May 2022 to May 2023, Through these changes in trends, founders can capture new opportunities in the market and develop start-up strategies. In conclusion, this paper provides important insights for founders in accurately understanding the changes in food service start-up trends and in developing strategies appropriate to the current market situation.

A Conceptual Study on the Types of Entrepreneurial Opportunity and Laboratory Start-ups (창업 기회의 유형과 실험실 창업에 대한 개념적 연구)

  • This study focuses on the proposition that the qualities and environmental conditions required for exploring entrepreneurial opportunities and realizing entrepreneurial opportunities depend on the types of entrepreneurial opportunities. In particular, this study aims to identify the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups, which have recently been gaining policy level attention. If the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups is identified as discriminative, appropriate start-up support policies and training programs can be established. For this study, eight major papers were identified among the papers of last 30 years related to the types of entrepreneurial opportunities. After, the classification attributes for each opportunity type were derived. Then, the existing theories of recognition, discovery and creative opportunities were organized, critically reviewed and reorganized. In addition, the substance of laboratory start-ups was verified according to the standardized classification attributes of the revised and reorganized opportunity types and newly classified as 'creative opportunity'. This study also presents networking capabilities and market orientation as examples of the capabilities needed for entrepreneurs of creative opportunity type. The implication of this study is that it makes it easy to discriminate ontological typology of entrepreneurial opportunity, derives important classification attributes, and that it organizes them conceptually. In addition, it critically reconstructs the problems of confusion in the existing typology, and based on this, the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups is determined as creative opportunity. These achievements can contribute to the improvement of start-up policies and start-up training programs according to the types of entrepreneurial opportunity and laboratory start-ups in the future, resulting in realization of actual results at the start-up sites.

An Effects of Youth Founder's Entrepreneurship and Internal Locus of Control on Possibility of Start-up Success (청년창업자의 기업가정신과 내적 통제소재가 창업성공 가능성에 미치는 영향)

  • Entrepreneurship of a founder and psychological characteristics are very important factors for the start-up success. To understand the importance like this, this study investigated effect relationships of the entrepreneurship and psychological characteristics on the start-up success. For this, 122 copies of the questionnaire were empirically analyzed for the youth entrepreneurs who entered the youth founder academy which is founded and managed by the Small and Medium Business Corporation. According to results of analysis, both the entrepreneurship consisting of proactivenss, risk taking and autonomy, and the internal locus of control, the psychological characteristics were found to have positive effects on the start-up success. Therefore, this study suggested theoretical and practical implications, as below, according to the results. Firstly, we must be aware of the importance of the entrepreneurship from the perspective of a successful establishment, and, prospective entrepreneurs, who are planning to the start-up, have to judge their entrepreneurship and, only then, make a decision. Secondly, we have to put our best efforts into developing more effective education on start-up, which deals with improving youth founder's entrepreneurship. Therefore, education institutions for start-up are needed in order to develop educational programs such as "Entrepreneurship Training Programs". Thirdly, we must recognize that the role of family is important because most entrepreneurship and psychological characteristics are formed in a person's childhood. Forth, the entrepreneur, themselves, must realize that they has to make an effort to improve their entrepreneurship. Lastly, youth founder's internal locus of control has to be enhanced. Thus, greater attention is required from both the entrepreneur themselves, and educational institutions for start-up.

The Effect of the Entrepreneurial Motivation in Women Entrepreneurs on Entrepreneurial Satisfaction Mediated by Entrepreneurial Orientation and Commitment to Start-up (여성창업자의 창업동기가 기업가지향성과 창업의지를 매개로 창업만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to examine their influential relations between the start-up motivation and entrepreneurial satisfaction of women entrepreneurs mediated by entrepreneurial orientation and commitment to start-up. An empirical analysis of the 386 questionnaires collected by the cosmetics store entrepreneurs located in Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces were conducted in this study. Mediator effect use the comparison by correspondence with total effect, direct effect, indirect effect inclusive of characteristic indirect effect. To achieve the research goal, this study were analyzed on the cornerstone of combination of parallel serial mediation models with entrepreneurial orientation and commitment to start-up as mediator variable. The following is the results verified through this study. First, Rewards motivation had the significant positive effects on the entrepreneurial satisfaction in total effects of X on Y and direct effects of X on Y. Second, Achievement motivation had the positive effects on entrepreneurial satisfaction in characteristic indirect effects of X on Y. Third, Environment motivation had the significant positive effects on the entrepreneurial satisfaction in total effects of X on Y and direct effects of X on Y. Fourth, The entrepreneurial orientation and the commitment to start-up between the start-up motivation and entrepreneurial satisfaction in women entrepreneurs had the serial mediation effects. I discussed theoretical and empirical implications with these findings and described the future research.

  • Self-efficacy and entrepreneurial self-efficacy on the positive effects of entrepreneurial intention are well developed in past research but marketing self-efficacy, linked to the competencies of marketing field and is closely related to self-efficacy and entrepreneurial self-efficacy has not received enough attention on the prediction of start-up intention despite marketing and entrepreneurship are crucial when creating a start-up. Moreover, there have been several empirical studies but, most of the previous studies have focused on university students majoring in business and economics. Therefore, there is still little understanding of the effect of marketing self-efficacy on start-up intention. The purpose of this study then was to investigate the effect of marketing self-efficacy on start-up intention for college students majoring in entertainment-related studies. Questionnaires were employed to collect data from three universities in Korea. A total of 120 completed questionnaires were returned. Logistic regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis. The results indicate that marketing self-efficacy was positively and significantly related to start-up intention. The results of this study empirically confirmed that university students majoring in entertainment-related studies with high marketing self-efficacy are more likely to desire to create a start-up. These results suggest theoretical and practical implications.

Analysis of Soft Start-up Characteristics of the Induction Motor Considering the Firing Angle (점호각을 고려한 유도전동기의 소프트 기동 특성 해석)

  • Induction motors are used widely in driving load of a fluid, such as a pump or a fan in the industry. Induction motor has been generated the voltage drop by the occurrence of a high current during startup. In addition, high start-up current can act as a mechanical stress on the shaft of the motor. So there is need a way to reduce the starting current. Soft start method is one of the many ways to reduce the starting current. This method uses silicon-controlled rectifiers(SCRs) for varying value of the voltage applied to the motor. There is a case for fixing or changing the thyristor firing angle to adjust the magnitude of the voltage. Starting power factor of induction motor is very low compared to the normal operation. Soft starting with the firing angle fixed needs to be considered a low power factor at startup. In this study, we compared the direct start characteristics and soft start characteristics considering the low power factor at the time of start-up. It was possible to confirm that the starting current and the voltage drop is present differently according to the firing angle.

  • A start-up circuit of the bandgap reference voltage generator of cascode current mirror type with wide operating voltage range and enhanced power-up characteristics is proposed in the paper. It is confirmed by simulation that the newly proposed start-up circuit does not affect the operation of the bandgap reference voltage generatory even though the supply voltage(VDDA) is higher and has more stable power-up characteristic than the conventional start-up circuit. Test chips are designed and fabricated with $0.18{\mu}m$ tripple well CMOS process and their test has been completed. The mean value of measured the reference voltage(Vref) is 738mV and The three sigma value($3{\sigma}$) is 29.88mV.
