  • In this paper, we study complete Riemannian immersions into a semi-Riemannian warped product obeying suitable curvature constraints. Under appropriate differential inequalities involving higher order mean curvatures, we establish rigidity and nonexistence results concerning these immersions. Applications to the cases that the ambient space is either an Einstein manifold, a steady state type spacetime or a pseudo-hyperbolic space are given, and a particular investigation of entire graphs constructed over the fiber of the ambient space is also made. Our approach is based on a parabolicity criterion related to a linearized differential operator which is a divergence-type operator and can be regarded as a natural extension of the standard Laplacian.

  • We study nondegenerate immersions of Riemannian manifolds of constant sectional curvatures into Lorentzian manifolds of the same constant sectional curvatures with flat normal bundles. We also give a method to produce such immersions using the so-called Grassmannian system. .

  • Let $x : M^n \longrightarrow E^m$ be an isometric immersion of an n-dimensional connected Riemannian manifold into the m-dimensional Euclidean space. Then the metric tensor on $M^n$ is naturally induced from that of $E^m$.

  • We give criterions for a submanifold to be an extrinsic sphere and to be a totally geodesic submanifold by observing some Frenet curves of order 2 on the submanifold. We also characterize constant isotropic immersions into arbitrary Riemannian manifolds in terms of Frenet curves of proper order 2 on submanifolds. As an application we obtain a characterization of Veronese embeddings of complex projective spaces into complex projective spaces.

  • In the present paper, screen isotropic leaves on lightlike hypersurfaces of a Lorentzian manifold are introduced and studied which are inspired by the definition of isotropic immersions in the Riemannian context. Some examples of such leaves are mentioned. Furthermore, some relations involving curvature invariants are obtained.

  • In this paper, we introduce a second order linear differential operator T□: C (M) → C (M) as a natural generalization of Cheng-Yau operator, [8], where T is a (1, 1)-tensor on Riemannian manifold (M, h), and then we show on compact Riemannian manifolds, divT = divTt, and if divT = 0, and f be a smooth function on M, the condition T□ f = 0 implies that f is constant. Hereafter, we introduce T-energy functionals and by deriving variations of these functionals, we define T-harmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds, which is a generalization of Lk-harmonic maps introduced in [3]. Also we have studied fT-harmonic maps for conformal immersions and as application of it, we consider fLk-harmonic hypersurfaces in space forms, and after that we classify complete fL1-harmonic surfaces, some fLk-harmonic isoparametric hypersurfaces, fLk-harmonic weakly convex hypersurfaces, and we show that there exists no compact fLk-harmonic hypersurface either in the Euclidean space or in the hyperbolic space or in the Euclidean hemisphere. As well, some properties and examples of these definitions are given.

  • Tensor product immersions of a given Riemannian manifold was initiated by B.-Y. Chen. In the present article we study the tensor product surfaces of two Euclidean plane curves. We show that a tensor product surface M of a plane circle $c_1$ centered at origin with an Euclidean planar curve $c_2$ has harmonic Gauss map if and only if M is a part of a plane. Further, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for a tensor product surface M of a plane circle $c_1$ centered at origin with an Euclidean planar curve $c_2$ to have pointwise 1-type Gauss map.
