An Empirical Study on the Factors Influencing User Acceptance of Hedonic Information Technology (헤도닉 정보기술의 수용에 관한 영향 요인 연구)

  • This study investigates how enjoyment (or playfulness) affects user acceptance of hedonic-oriented (or pleasure) information technology based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). A research model was made to examine the effect of enjoyment on the user acceptance of hedonic information technology. 186 responses were collected from university students who had experiences on Daum's Digital View which is a well-known example of digital signage technology. The result of the statistical analysis reveals that enjoyment also had a strong effect on the acceptance of hedonic information technology, in addition to perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. However, perceived usefulness is reported to most strongly influence the adoption of Digital View. The effect of enjoyment on intention to use was also significant, but enjoyment shows a much low degree of influence than perceived usefulness on intention to use.

  • This study explore the perceived differences of factors influencing the shared accommodation in China, and the influencing paths of consumers' use of shared accommodation. This paper collects the questionnaire survey of the Chinese shared accommodation user and applies method of Amos V23.0. The results showed that perceived usefulness and perceived pleasure had positive effects on trust, and they also have indirect positive effects on perceived intention through trust, while perceived risk and perceived ease of use had no significant effects on trust. The conclusion is helpful to promote the long-term development of sharing accommodation companies by satisfying the needs of consumers from the point of view of consumers.

  • The mobile industry is the key foundation of digital convergence, and its constant growth is expected. Among mobile industries, new products leading the development of devices are the Emerging Device. This study is conducted to find out factors making differentiated by comparing the structural equation model(SEM) of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader. The main findings are as follows. First, the application of TAM to the Emerging Device shows that fitness of the model is generally high but the effect of Perceived Ease of Use has not been verified or found insignificant. Second, the acceptance model of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader has found that playfulness stimulates acceptance intentions. Third, the cost level of the Emerging Device acceptance model is not a factor stimulating consumers' acceptance intentions. Fourth, product attributes of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader to differentiate themselves from the other device are Functionality and Playfulness respectively.

Determinants of Purchase Intention for IPTV-VOD Contents (IPTV에서의 유료 VOD 구매 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This paper investigated main determinants of purchase intention for VOD contents by employing an extended technology acceptance model. The findings showed that 'user activeness' is the critical external variable influencing five perceived belief variables, namely perceived usefulness, perceived playfulness, perceived quality, perceived complexity and perceived cost. Regarding consumer satisfaction for free VOD service, it had no direct effect but indirect effect on the purchase behavior, meaning that the satisfaction causes purchase intention for VOD contents via the cognitive attitude. Also, the moderating e!ect of use experience on the relationship between the belief variables and the purchase intention was confirmed. Users with much experience showed a higher perception for usefulness and quality, whereas users with less experience placed a higher value on the hedonic factors and costs. In contrast to previous studies on IPTV that mainly focused on determinant of IPTV subscription, this paper analyzed VOD that is a killer application of IPTV in identification of key factors for the acceptance. The findings provide IPTV operators some strategies to create customer value and improve profitability.

A Study on the Factors Influencing Continuous Intention to Use of OTT Service Users: Focused on the Extension of Technology Acceptance Model (OTT서비스 이용자의 지속사용의도 영향 요인에 관한 연구: 기술수용모델의 확장을 중심으로)

  • This study verified the factors influencing continuous intention to use of OTT service users through technology acceptance model and extension. For this purpose, the main results were derived through correlation analysis and path analysis using SPSS 21.0 program and AMOS 21.0 program. The summary is as follows. First, perceived ease of use was found to have a statistically significant positive effect on perceived usefulness. Second, perceived ease of use did not have a statistically significant effect on continuous intention to use. Third, the perceived usefulness has a statistically significant positive effect on continuous intention to use. Fourth, perceived innovativeness has a statistically significant positive effect on perceived ease of use. Fifth, perceived innovativeness has a statistically significant positive effect on continuous intention to use. Sixth, perceived playfulness has a statistically significant positive effect on continuous intention to use. The above results will be meaningful in that it has revealed a path to understand the extension of the technology acceptance model of OTT services and acceptance of OTT services.

The Impacts of Perceived Attributes on Continuance of the Smart Phone App Store (스마트폰 앱스토어에 대한 지각특성이 지속이용에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between Product Quality (Popularity, Playfulness) and Information Quality (Informativeness, Reliability), System Quality (Ease of Use, Security), Trust and Continuance Intention in Smart Phone Application Market. To identify these affecting relationships, the secondary data or past studies were collected and theoretically arranged. I made the theoretical proposed model to explain the relationships between the constructs, identify the operational definitions and 13 Hypotheses were established, there was executed the survey of 250 customers of Smart Phone Application Market. Using the collected data, previous performances to confirm the construct validity and internal consistency by Cronbach's a was executed and Partial Least Square Analysis to confirm the hypotheses in proposed model was conducted using the Smart-PLS Software. As the result of test that make the relations of used variables clear, we can get the conclusion as followings; First, Product Popularity has the positive effect on Informativeness, except reliability of Information. Second, it was significantly tested the effect on the Ease of use and Security by Product Playfulness. Third, Informativeness and Ease of Use, Security of App Store have the significantly positive effects on the Users' Trust directly. From the empirical test, I suggest the strategic advices in App Store Companies. To increase the Users' Continuance Intention or Loyalty, it would be developed that a variety of methods and ways to raise the Product Popularity and Playfulness, Informativeness, Ease of Use and Security of App Store. It is necessary for sticking the Users to raise the positive trust building and Continuance Intention.

The Effect of Perceived Interactivity's Mediator Role on Mobile Contents Users' Attitude and Behavioral Intention (지각된 상호작용성의 매개역할이 모바일 콘텐츠 사용자의 태도 및 행동의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study suggests major characteristics of the ubiquitous environment, which include pervasive connectivity, context awareness, and playfulness, by surveying mobile contents users. Also, this empirical study attempts to validate nine hypotheses and all the ubiquitous factors of mobile contents have positive effect on perceived interactivity. It is revealed that perceived interactivity is an intermediary factor which positively affects users' perceived performance, satisfaction and continuous use intention. Hypotheses of positive relationships among users' behavioral outcome factors are also accepted. Results show that ubiquitous characteristics of mobile contents influence the users' attitude and behavior through the intermediary role of perceived interactivity among users and messages and devices. This study contributes to the literature by presenting and empirically verifying the effect of ubiquitous factors of mobile contents and perceived interactivity on uses' attitude and behavior intention. Based on study results, user-oriented theoretical bases are provided for various mobile contents service, the issue of policy-making and business planning are addressed, and managerial implications are discussed.

A Study of the Continuous Use Intention of Social Commerce (소셜 커머스 지속 사용의도에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we identified the factors influencing on the continuous use intention of social commerce and analyzed the proposed model empirically using structural equation model, which was developed by considering hedonic and utilitarian shopping value, trust, satisfaction, familiarity, social influence, and perceived price. We collected data for this study by surveying the consumers who had an experience of purchasing through social commerce. An analysis of 212 respondents indicated that utilitarian and hedonic shopping value influenced on satisfaction as both of shopping value are significant statistically. Social commerce gives more attraction their consumers by reducing the price to half, whereas they are expected to present playfulness of shopping. Familiarity, social influence, and perceived price are influential factors in a purchase of social commerce sites. We discuss the implications of our findings for both theory and practice.

  • The Location Based Services (LBS) comprise spatial information and mobile technology allow users to receive various services based on Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Although, spatial information based services are very useful, it has lots of possibility to damage privacy protection. But the contents of the legislation by government have problems conflicted between protection of a person's location information and invigoration LBS. Therefore, in this study suggest a causal model to deal with user satisfaction and factors affecting spatial information based services to customer perspective. The proposed research model is tested empirically with one hundred and forty one usable questionnaires and partial least square (PLS) method. Experimental results showed that the usefulness, playfulness, and service quality play a prominent role in influencing the spatial information services satisfaction compared to other factors. But, easy of use and perceived risk are not significant.
