  • Let (R, m) be a commutative Noetherian local ring and I be an ideal of R. In this paper it is shown that if cd(I, R) = t > 0 and the R-module $Hom_R(R/I,H^t_I(R))$ is finitely generated, then $$t={\sup}\{{\dim}{\widehat{\hat{R}_p}}/Q:p{\in}V(I{\hat{R}}),\;Q{\in}mAss{_{\widehat{\hat{R}_p}}}{\widehat{\hat{R}_p}}\;and\;p{\widehat{\hat{R}_p}}=Rad(I{\wideha{\hat{R}_p}}=Q)\}$$. Moreover, some other results concerning the cohomological dimension of ideals with respect to the rings extension $R{\subset}R[X]$ will be included.

  • Let (R,m) be a Noetherian local ring and M a finitely generated R-module. For an integer s > -1, we say that M is Cohen-Macaulay in dimension > s if every system of parameters of M is an M-sequence in dimension > s introduced by Brodmann-Nhan [1]. In this paper, we give some characterizations for Cohen-Macaulay modules in dimension > s in terms of the Noetherian dimension of the local cohomology modules $H^i_m(M)$, the polynomial type of M introduced by Cuong [5] and the multiplicity e($\underline{x}$;M) of M with respect to a system of parameters $\underline{x}$.

  • We introduce the concept of w-zero-divisor (w-ZD) rings and study its related rings. In particular it is shown that an integral domain R is an SM domain if and only if R is a w-locally Noetherian w-ZD ring and that a commutative ring R is w-Noetherian if and only if the polynomial ring in one indeterminate R[X] is a w-ZD ring. Finally we characterize universally zero divisor rings in terms of w-ZD modules.

  • Let R be any commutative ring and S be any multiplicative closed set. We introduce an S-version of $\mathcal{F}$-Mittag-Leffler modules, called $\mathcal{F}_{\mathcal{S}}$-Mittag-Leffler modules, and define the projective dimension with respect to these modules. We give some characterizations of $\mathcal{F}_{\mathcal{S}}$-Mittag-Leffler modules, investigate the relationships between $\mathcal{F}$-Mittag-Leffler modules and $\mathcal{F}_{\mathcal{S}}$-Mittag-Leffler modules, and use these relations to describe noetherian rings and coherent rings, such as R is noetherian if and only if $R_S$ is noetherian and every $\mathcal{F}_{\mathcal{S}}$-Mittag-Leffler module is $\mathcal{F}$-Mittag-Leffler. Besides, we also investigate the $\mathcal{M}^{\mathcal{F}_{\mathcal{S}}$-global dimension of R, and prove that $R_S$ is noetherian if and only if its $\mathcal{M}^{\mathcal{F}_{\mathcal{S}}$-global dimension is zero; $R_S$ is coherent if and only if its $\mathcal{M}^{\mathcal{F}_{\mathcal{S}}$-global dimension is at most one.

  • Let (A,m) be a Noetherian local ring and M a finitely generated A-module. The notion of pseudo Buchsbaum module was introduced in [3] as an extension of that of Buchsbaum module. In this paper, we give a condition for the idealization A⋉M of M over A to be pseudo Buchsbaum.

  • Let $R ={\oplus}_{n{\in}Z}R_n$ be a graded commutative Noetherian ring and let I be a graded ideal of R and J be an arbitrary ideal. It is shown that the i-th generalized local cohomology module of graded module M with respect to the (I, J), is graded. Also, the asymptotic behaviour of the homogeneous components of $H^i_{I,J}(M)$ is investigated for some i's with a specified property.

  • Let A be a commutative ring with identity and M an A-module. When $U_n$ is a triangular subset of $A_n$, Sharp and Zakeri defined a module of generalized fractions $U_n^{-n}M$. In [SZ3], they described a relation of the Monomial Conjecture and a module of generalized fractions under the condition of a Noetherian local ring. In this paper, we investigate some properties of non-zero generalized fractions and give a generalization of results of Sharp and Zakeri for an arbitrary ring.

  • An A-module M is catenary if for each pair of prime submodules K and L of M with $K{\subset}L$ all saturated chains of prime submodules of M from K to L have a common finite length. We show that when A is a Noetherian domain, then every finitely generated A-module is catenary if and only if A is a Dedekind domain or a field. Moreover, a torsion-free divisible A-module M is catenary if and only if the vector space M over Q(A) (the field of fractions of A) is finite dimensional.

  • In this paper we define and study a new kind of dimension called, semisimple dimension, that measures how far a module is from being semisimple. Like other kinds of dimensions, this is an ordinal valued invariant. We give some interesting and useful properties of rings or modules which have semisimple dimension. It is shown that a noetherian module with semisimple dimension is an artinian module. A domain with semisimple dimension is a division ring. Also, for a semiprime right non-singular ring R, if its maximal right quotient ring has semisimple dimension as a right R-module, then R is a semisimple artinian ring. We also characterize rings whose modules have semisimple dimension. In fact, it is shown that all right R-modules have semisimple dimension if and only if the free right R-module ${\oplus}^{\infty}_{i=1}$ R has semisimple dimension, if and only if R is a semisimple artinian ring.

  • In [2, 7.3.2], the set of attached prime ideals of local cohomology module $H_m^n(M)$ were calculated, where (A, m) be Noetherian local ring, M finite A-module and $dim_A(M)=n$, and also in the special case in which furthermore A is a homomorphic image of a Gornestien local ring (A', m') (see [2, 11.3.6]). In this paper, we shall obtain this set, by another way in this special case.
