A new approach on uniqueness in elastodynamics

  • Our study is dedicated to the the proof of uniqueness of solution of initially boundary value problem in Elastodynamics of initially stressed bodies with voids. This proof is obtained without recourse either to an energy conservation law or to any boundedness assumptions on the elastic coefficients.

  • In this paper we consider the enumeration problem of permutations with partially forbidden positions, generalizing the notion of permutations with forbidden positions. .As an alternative approach to this problem, we investigate the permanent maximization problem over some classes of (0,1)-matrices which have a given number of 1's some of which lie in prescribed positions.

  • The purpose of this note is to use primitive recursive functions and predicates similar to those presented by Davis [2] to show the well-known result first proved by Godel in [3] that the well-formed formulas of a pure functional calculus form a recursive set. The technique shown in this paper immediately suggests a unique approach to Theorem proving using a computer.

  • In this article we study the relation between subinvariant submean and normal structure in a locally convex topological vector space. This extends in a natural way a result obtained recently by Lau and Takahashi. Our approach also follows closely theirs.

  • We present an identity on moments of a compound random variable by using an auxiliary counting random variable. Based on this identity, we develop a new recurrence formula for obtaining the raw and central moments of any order for a given compound random variable.
