  • This study is intended to suggest fundamental data necessary for developing MBTI program that can help improve interpersonal relation skills of nursing science major students and their cohesion. This study is pre-experimental research by one group pretest-post test design to examine the effect of MBTI(Myers and Briggs Type Indicator) basic program on the interpersonal relationship between nursing science major students and their group cohesion and the relationship between interpersonal relationship and their group cohesion. I selected 39 of sophomore students in the department nursing science of K university in I metropolitan city as test group. 35 of them joined post-test. Pretest and MBTI basic program were done before conducting MBTI program. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS window 7.5. The difference in test group before and after conducting program was examined by paired t-test. The correlation between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion was measured by using Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The findings are as follows. $\cdot$ The difference before and after conducting MBTI program by sub-factors of interpersonal relation: There was no significant difference, as the average figure of interpersonal relation in test group was 87.22 before conducting MBTI and 85.08 after conducting MBTI respectively. The average figure of sensitivity among the sub-factors of interpersonal relation was 7.71 before conducting MBTI and reduced to 7.08 after conducting MBTI and there was significant difference between before and after conducting MBTI(t=-2.484, p=.018) $\cdot$ The difference in group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI program: The average figure of group cohesion in test group was 56.68 before conducting MBTI and increased a bit to 56.80 after conducting MBTI\, but there was no significant difference between them. $\cdot$ The relationship between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI: As the relationship between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI is examined, there was positive correlation of the significance level. p<.05 before conducting MBTI(r=.320, p=.047), and of the significance level, p<.01 after conducting MBTI(r=.780, p=.000). The investigation on the relation between sub-factors of group cohesion and of interpersonal relation before conducting MBTI basic program revealed that there was positive correlation between openness, reliability, friendliness and satisfaction, and group intervention, between receptivity among group members and reliability, and between group atmosphere and satisfaction. The investigation on the relation between sub-factors of group cohesion and of interpersonal relation after conducting MBTI basic program revealed that there was positive correlation between openness, communication, understanding, friendliness and satisfaction. and group intervention. There was positive correlation between receptivity among group members and openness, communication, understanding, friendliness and satisfaction. There was positive correlation between openness, communication, friendliness and satisfaction, and group atmosphere. Based on the above findings, I realize that MBTI basic program is essential to the improvement of group cohesion. In addition, it is shown that the sub-factors of interpersonal relation such as openness, communication, friendliness, satisfaction, and understanding, and the sub-factors such as group intervention and receptivity among group members are major factors to improve interpersonal relationship and group cohesion. So, the future MBTI program should include sub-programs that deal with the above factors to improve interpersonal relationship and group cohesion.

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of a self growth program through MBTI on interpersonal relationships, and the career identity of nursing college students. Methods: A randomized controlled pre-post test experimental design was used for this study. The 24 nursing students were randomly assigned into two groups: 12 for the experimental group, and 12 for the control group. The subjects were junior nursing students, who were randomly selected from an undergraduate nursing program at K university located in Daegu, Korea. The data was collected from March 18 to April 1, 2002. The MBTI self growth program used in this study was based on the one developed by Shim and Kim (1997). The 12 experimental group students received the group self growth program through MBTI for 15 hours, while the 12 control group students received no treatment, except a series of tests. The Korean version MBTI test used in this study was developed and verified for reliability and validity by Kim and Sim (1990). Change in inter-personal relationships was measured using the Relationship Change Scale developed by Schlein and Guerney (1971), and modified by Lee and Mun (1982). Career identity was measured using the My Vocational Situation developed by Holland. Daiger and Power (1980), and revised by Kim (1997). The data were analyzed with the SPSS Win 10.0 program, through which the 2 test, t-test, and Repeated measures ANOVA were examined. Results: 1) The first hypothesis, 'the experimental group that received the self growth program through MBTI will obtain a higher interpersonal relationship score than the control group', was supported (F=5.295. p=.031. Interaction: p=.000). 2) The second hypothesis, 'the experimental group that received the self growth program through MBTI will obtain a higher career identity score than the control group', was supported (F=28.575, p=.000, Interaction: p=.000). Conclusion: The results showed that the ready planned self growth program through MBTI had positive effects on improving the interpersonal relationships, and the career identity of nursing college students.

  • Mungbean trypsin inhibitor (MBTI) was isolated and purified from Mung bean which has been used as a galenic and traditional food. MBTI and poly(ethylene glycol) were conjugated by using water soluble carbodiimide. We evaluated the therapeutic value of the MBTI and MBTI-PEG conjugate using animal models, sublethal septic shock model in guinea pig caused by pseudomonal elastase, shock model in rat caused by lipopolysaccharide, and the vascular permeability test by using pseudomonal elastase. In two shock model in guinea p Is and in rat, hypotesion shock was inhibited by pretreatment of MBTI. And also the vascular permeability caused by pseudomonal elastase reduced by pretreatment of MBTI. Also, therapeutic value of the MBTI-PEG conjugate was evaluated by using the sublethal septic shock model caused by pseudomonal elastase. The MBTI-PEG conjugate was more effective than native MBTI against pseudomonal elastase induced septic shock in guinea pig model.

  • This study is preliminary and qualitative research to find out the possibility of using children's architectural work as projective test tools. The features of 21 works from the activity of built-environment education for children was analyzed and compared with MBTI psychological preference types. The key results are as follows: 1) Observation and communication was required to understand and analyze children's architectural works. 2) The results of children's work appeared in various ways, and were classified as indicators according to composition, shape, expression, program, circulation. These indicators also showed the independence of personal expression types regardless of age or gender. 3) The comparison between architectural expressions and MBTI preference types revealed a significant relationship between the indicators. The relationship only appeared in certain indicator pairs. Therefore, it can be said that the built-environment education could be used as a projection test tool to understand the psychological preferences of children. In conclusion, the meanings and limitations of this study and the possibility of future researches were discussed.

  • The MBTI personality type test is the most widely used standardized test as an occupational aptitude test and psychological test to identify a job suitable for an individual's aptitude. However, such a self-report test has many constraints on the subject's judgment, cognitive ability, situation, and time, so there is a limit to the test. Therefore, there is a need for a test tool that can compensate for the limitations of Western psychological tests, and Myeongnology can solve the shortcomings of Western occupational tests. This is because Myeong-Ri can distinguish a natural person's disposition, aptitude, and what kind of job he or she should engage in, and it is also possible to predict what kind of job he or she will change to according to good luck. Through a comparative study of the occupational sex theory between MBTI and Myeong-ri, it can be seen that the MBTI variables and the variables of Myeong-ri are quite consistent with the occupational sex. Therefore, it was proved that Myeong-Ri is a study that can be used for professional sex counseling while supplementing the limitations of MBTI. Therefore, it is expected that this paper will contribute to the study of occupational characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship and degree of agreement between the six types of Geometry Psychological Assessment (GEOPIA) and four functions of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test, and to investigate the appropriate level of vocational aptitude commonly recommended by each tool. A total of 377 adult men and women from Korea, aged between 19 and 70 years, were tested using GEOPIA and the MBTI. Cronbach's alpha was calculated to verify the validity and reliability of the measuring tools, and the mean and standard deviation of each variable were calculated. Also, a cross-sectional analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between GEOPIA and the MBTI. The results showed that Round/Triangle (RT) types, Round/Box (RB) types, Triangle/Box (TB) types and Box/Curve (BC) types among the GEOPIA personality types are highly related to MBTI's Sensing/Thinking (ST) types. GEOPIA RC types were related to Intuition/Feeling (NF) and Sensing/Feeling (SF) types, and TC types were highly related to Intuition/Thinking (NT) types. Based on the common characteristics of the two tests, the findings suggest appropriate levels of vocational aptitude. Through this research, it was confirmed that GEOPIA (a Korean psychology and personality test) can be used in counseling, coaching, and education, and above all, is a reliable tool for vocational psychological assessment to search for career aptitude.
