습식식각 방법으로 제작한 패턴 형성 사파이어 기판을 가지는 GaN계 청색 LED (GaN Base Blue LED on Patterned Sapphire Substrate by Wet Etching)

  • Sapphire substrate was patterned by a selective chemical wet etching technique, and GaN/InGaN structures were grown on this substrate by MOVPE (Metal Organic Vapor Phase Epitaxy). The surface of grown GaN on patterned sapphire substrate (PSS) has good morphology and uniformity. The patterned sapphire substrate LED showed better light output than conventional LED that improvement 50%. We think these results come from enhancement of internal quantum efficiency by decrease of threading dislocation and increase of light extraction efficiency. Also these LED showed more uniform emission distribution in angle than conventional LED.

광역학적 암진단을 위한 여기 광원장치의 개발 (Development of Excitation Light Source for Photodynamic Diagnosis of Cancer)

  • 본 논문은 광역학적 암 진단에서 여기광원(excitation light)으로 사용되는 광원장치의 개발에 관한 연구이다. 여기광원의 파장 대 선택은 광과민제의 선택에 따라 형광발생과 상관관계를 가지게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다양한 광 과민제(photosensitizer)를 이용한 광역학적 암 진단이 가능하도록, 여러 파장 대 광(multi-wavelength)의 선택과 안정적으로 출력할 수 있는 광원장치를 설계하고 개발하였다. 개발된 광원장치는 제논램프(Xenon lamp)를 이용 하였으며, iris를 통한 광 출력제어와 여러 가지 파장대의 필터로 구성된 필터 휠(filter wheel)을 고안하고, 파장 대는 380-420nm 430-480nm, 480-560nm의 파장 대를 출력할 수 있도록 제작하였으며, 광 전달 효율을 높일 수 있도록 광원 전송부도 고안하였다. 개발된 광원장치는 한국식약청의 허가 기준에 맞추어 성능을 평가하였으며, 광 출력과 파장대의 특성을 조사하고 안정성을 검증하였다.

보드 선도를 이용한 LLC 컨버터의 경 부하 레귤레이션 특징 분석 (Analysis for Light Load Regulation of LLC Converter using Bode Plot)

  • In general, LLC converters show great promise in applications that require high efficiency, especially under light load conditions. In particular, LLC converters feature wide gain capability with pulse-frequency modulation and zero voltage switching over entire load conditions. However, output voltage increases in light load conditions. In this study, Bode plot and impedance asymptotes analyses were conducted to obtain insights into the regulation characteristics of LLC converters under light load conditions. To improve the regulation characteristic of LLC converters, a new resonant tank with an additional capacitor is proposed. The design guideline for the proposed LLC converter is determined by the Bode plot and impedance asymptotes analyses. Therefore, the proposed LLC converter achieves the light load regulation while maintaining the advantages of typical LLC converters.

질화갈륨 기반 청색 고체 발광 다이오드에서의 스트레스 영향 해석 (Analysis of Stress-Induced Effect in Blue GaN-Based Light-Emitting Diodes)

  • It was proven that the light outputs of blue GaN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) was seriously influenced by the application of external stress. We have simulated the wave function overlap of an electron and hole, which are significantly reduced by the development of stress. Consequently, its internal quantum efficiency decreased from 67.0% to 37.5%. To experimentally investigate the effect of stress, we designed and prepared a special zig system. By applying external tensile stress to compensate for the compressive stress innately developed in Blue LEDs, it was found that the optical output was greatly enhanced from 83.1 mcd to 117.2 mcd at a current of 100 mA, an increase of approximately 41%. In contrast, when the compressive stress is developed more by external compressive stress, we observed that the light output power was reduced from 89.0 mcd to 80.7 mcd, a decrease of approximately 9.3%.

주택용 3kW 태양광발전시스템의 구성요소법 특성 분석 (Characteristics analysis of Residential 3kW PV System)

  • The solar power system comprises a solar battery that directly converts light energy to electrical energy with a photovoltaic effect and a power converter system, that is, inverter that converts direct current power, which is generated from solar battery to common alternating current. In this paper, database was constituted through remote monitoring supervision measurement for the long-time positive operation of 3kW solar power system installed within the solar energy positive research complex of Chosun University. As a result of analyzing the reduction of the efficiency of solar battery and inverter that are compositional components of PV system through an analysis on the acquired data, the PV output was proven over 65% of the total output when insolation intensity exceeded 600W/m2 in 2005, and the array conversion efficiency dropped much more than rating; meanwhile, insolation intensity dropped below 600W/m2. Therefore, it has been demonstrated that approximately 35% of the entire amount of PV output operated under the condition that the inverter efficiency rate dropped rapidly by 60 to 70%.

  • Generally Lighting system consists of lamp and luminaire. When a fluorescent lamp is installed in luminaire, power and light output is changed by ambient temperature. Particularly electrodeless lamp depends on the changes that are mercury pressure with amalgam temperature and magnetic properties with ferrite temperature. It has finally influence on optical efficiency. In this study, the temperature change of ferrite and cold spot, vessel are measured at transitional state and then same characteristics are measured with increase of ambient temperature. At transitional state, luminous flux is related to temperature change of cold spot that compare with behavior of mercury pressure and light output. At increase of ambient temperature, we analyzed change that efficiency and electrical, optical characteristics of electrodeless lamp are related to ferrite core and cold spot temperature.

  • 본 논문에서는 차단층 설계 변수에 따른 GaN 기반 LED의 출력 특성을 분석하였다. 사용된 LED의 기본 구조는 GaN 버퍼층을 기반으로 GaN 장벽과 InGaN 양자 우물로 이루어진 활성 영역이 AlGaN EBL(Electron Blocking Layer)과 AlGaN HBL(Hole Blocking Layer) 사이에 구성되어 있다. ISE-TCAD를 이용하여 GaN 기반 LED에서 EBL의 Al 몰분율과 두께, HBL의 Al 몰분율과 도핑 농도에 따른 출력 전력과 내부 양자 효율 특성을 분석하였다.

대형 교통신호용 LED 구동 SMPS 설계 (Design of LED Driving SMPS for Large Traffic Signal Lamp)

  • 본 연구에서는 철도 및 공항 등 대형 교통수단의 표시등으로 사용하기 위한 LED 신호등 구동회로를 설계하고 제작된 SMPS의 전기적 특성을 측정하였다. 입력전압 8~12VAC 및 8~16VDC에 대하여 출력전압, 출력전류 및 전력효율은 각각 6VDC, 1.85ADC 및 >70%이었다. 또한 규정한 AC 입력전압에 대하여 측정한 역률은 모두 0.75 이상의 값을 얻었다.
