The objective of this study is to analyse the current status and problems of the junior college libraries in Korea which is being placed in the inferior environment relatively and to present the improvement program against hereupon. The concept and an objective of the junior colleges were examined, the problems against an external environment through various statistics of their academic libraries were also presented. The instance academic libraries based on their number of book collection in the city of Taegu area were selected to prepare the improvement program. Information service instance which hits to the junior colleges were collected through analysing the web site of the corresponding library, and the depth interview to the corresponding junior college librarians was also executed.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of 'The Reading with Library' program in the national library for Children and Young Adults. For this study, data was collected through surveys with 590 children in 46 institutions that participated in '2009 The Reading with Library'program. The study mainly focused on three factors - Children's Self-Esteem, Sociality, and Reading Ability and Questionnaire surveyed. The study revealed that 42(91.3%) among 46institutions showed improvement in the Children's Self-Esteem, Sociality, and Reading Ability test. As the result, 11 institutions (23.9%) were influenced by the program.

This research intends to identity problem and to suggest improvement through examples of the children for Reading Camp connected on Reading with Library Program for Children of Alienation in the National Library for Children and Young Adult and to investigate the way of effective the reading camp. The study investigated the operational practices of reading camp programs in 6 areas in the country. Further, it conducted a survey with children and librarians participated in the reading camp program. Based on the results, effective reading camp operation has been suggested and some suggestions have been made to improve administration strategies for reading camp.

This study analyzed 138 multicultural programs from 40 libraries during the last two years. The study compares multicultural programs running in Korean libraries with those from American and Canadian libraries which have a long history of multicultural societies. The results are listed below. There is a need for long-running multicultural programs that address the needs of its users even from the planning stages. Programs should include out-reach based running methods, daily life based subjects and contents, and differentiated approaches for different levels and ages of users.

This study aims to analyze library culture-program management and propose methods for improving the program management. To achieve this research goal, this study examines current state of culture-program management and user's participation by analyzing users' participation logs of the National Library of Korea, Sejong. The users' participation logs have been accumulated from May, 2015, to December, 2017, and the logs contain 722 program data, 24,816 program participation data, and 6,729 users data. The data were used for analyzing of program management, users' characteristics, and changes based on timelines. Based on the analysis results, culture-program management problems were pointed out and future improvement methods for solving the problems were proposed. This study analyzes culture-program management in view of users using real users' participation logs, and it has significance for being different from preceding researches focusing on culture-program providers.

This article aims to improve the cultural program for the resident writers in libraries by identifying the current status of the resident writer support project, examining users' perceptions and preferences, and investigating librarians' perceptions of the program. The research methods included an investigation (survey) of the program operation status, user perception and preference surveys, and interviews with librarians about their perceptions of the program. Data were collected from libraries with the cultural program for resident writers between May and November 2021. Findings showed there were challenges in operating the library cultural program due to the lack of resident writers' quality, frequent changes in the program formats (online or offline), and library closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. For the program improvement, suggestions were made, including inviting good-quality resident writers and writers from other fields to the program, training resident writers, advertising the programs using online and offline media, training staff, and developing programs considering user ages and preferences and diversity in local communities.

This study is aimed to suggest the core elements of instruction and development program through understanding the generation Y's characteristics and examining the standards and education models for information literacy. Concretely, this paper is comparatively analyze and customize the successful online information literacy tutorial models adopted by university libraries in U.S.A, Japan, and Korea. As a result of research, the outline of the needed procedure and required contents for the improvement of the online tutorial in the university of our country are suggested.

This study examines current practices of the multicultural services in public library and offers directions for improvement in the multicultural society. For this, this study is set up the list of the multicultural services on the basis of the plans and the announcements about multicultural services of an international organization. Moreover, researchers analysed the multicultural services of Incheon Jungang Library. The results of this study are as follows. They proposed the improvement of the multicultural services of a public library as the changes of cognition of the multicultural services, training for professional manpower, program for intercultural understanding, accessibility to information, etc.

This study aims to improve art-related cultural programs led by public libraries. Thus, after conducting a literature review about art-related cultural programs of public libraries and investigating art-related cultural programs of foreign public library cases, this study carried out a survey on managers and users in art-related cultural programs of Korean public libraries. These results, based on which this study proposed guidance for operation improvement art-related cultural programs of Korean public libraries while dividing them into operation factors and content factors. It is expected that the result of this study will be used to plan and operate art-related cultural programs for public libraries in the future.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the information need of senior users of public libraries and to present ways to improve senior services based on this. To this end, demographics and public library statistics were analyzed, and opinions and demands on book collection, programs, services, and spaces were investigated for senior users of Gangseo-gu libraries. The survey was conducted with surveys and interviews, and based on the results of the survey, it was suggested that the improvement of senior service should be carried out to customized contents collection, program connecting the past, present and future, services with enhanced access and publicity and securing dedicated space for seniors.
