Convergence relationship of Self-esteem, Empathy ability and Interpersonal relationship ability in dental hygiene students (치위생과 학생들의 자아존중감과 공감능력, 대인관계능력과의 융합 관계)

  • This study was to investigate the convergence relationship of self-esteem, empathy ability and interpersonal relationship ability of 351 dental hygiene students in Jeollabuk-do area. The data were analyzed using SPSS software program 22.0. In case of interpersonal relationship ability, there were significantly different means with health state(p=0.005) and major satisfaction(p=0.004). Self-esteem, empathy ability and interpersonal relationship ability was positive correlated(r=0.600, p<0.01). The factors influencing interpersonal relationship ability were self-esteem and empathy ability(p<0.001). The explanatory power of the study was 38.0%. It is necessary to develop a dental hygiene education program for improving self-esteem, empathy ability and interpersonal relationship ability.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors of interpersonal relationship in nursing college students for effective learning ability and teaching strategy. Method: In order to get the data by self-questionnaire, 166 subjects were selected. The instruments for this study were Preceptual Orientation Scale, Self-Efficacy Scale, Narcissistic Personality Disorder Scale, and Interpersonal Relationship Scale. The dada was analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe' test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 12.0 program. Result: The main factors that affect interpersonal relationship were self-perception and social-efficacy. These variables were account for 37.9% of interpersonal relationship. The significant influencing factors on interpersonal relationship were self-perception, social-efficacy. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a strategy to get positive perceptual orientation and successful interpersonal relationship for nursing college students by further studies with small group program for the best result.

A Study on the influence of College Student's Usage Motivation of SNS and Interpersonal relationship orientation on MSNS(Mobile Social Network Service) addiction Proneness Addition tendencies (대학생들의 SNS 이용동기, 대인관계지향성이 MSNS(Mobile Social Network Service) 중독경향성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate influences of usage motivation of SNS and interpersonal relationship orientation on Mobile Social Network Service(MSNS) addition proneness. For this purpose, questionnaires including MSNS addition Proneness scale, usage motivation of SNS scale and interpersonal relationship orientation scale were administered to 250 college students in Seoul. Regression analysis revealed that usage motivation of SNS showed influences of interpersonal relationship orientation. The Usage motivation of SNS showed influences of MSNS addiction proneness, interpersonal relationship orientation showed partial influence MSNS addiction proneness. The result of this study implicated that level of MSNS addiction tendencies needs to be considered for counseling with used of SNS motives. This study findings would contribute in development of preventive interventions for SNS addiction and improvement program for interpersonal competence in college students. Futhermore, exploration of various ways to satisfy motivation of interpersonal relation would be helpful to reduce SNS addiction tendencies. Finally, based on the result, implications of finding, limitation and suggestions for future research were discussed.

The Moderating Effect of Smartphone Addiction on the Relationship between Interpersonal Problem and Depression (대학생의 대인관계 문제와 우울의 관계에서 스마트폰 중독의 조절효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the moderating effect of smartphone addiction on the relationship between interpersonal problem and depression. Methods: From 21 to 30 May 2013, a convenience sample of 192 subjects was recruited. Research data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 18.0. Results: Scores for female students were higher than those for male students in smartphone addiction, interpersonal peoblems and depression. The average BDI score was 6.6. There were 29(15.1%), 11(5.7%), 8(4.0%), and 6(3.1%) students with mild, moderate, and severe depression, respectively. Significant positive correlation between smartphone addiction, interpersonal problems and depression. The moderating effect of smartphone addiction on the relationship between interpersonal problems and depression was significant. Conclusion: Smartphone addiction plays a role as a moderating variable influencing the relationship between interpersonal problems and depression, and also increases the effect of interpersonal problems on depression. When developing depression prevention programs for college students, such programs should consider strategies to decrease smartphone addiction and increase direct interpersonal relationship, and female students in particular should be included in such programs.

The Effect of Emotional Control and Interpersonal Cognitive Problem Solving Ability on Children's Interpersonal Relationship Formative (유아의 대인관계 형성능력에 미치는 정서조절능력과 대인문제해결사고의 영향)

  • This study was designed to examine the effect of emotional control and interpersonal cognitive problem solving ability on children's interpersonal relationship formative. The subjects were 133 boys and girls who were day care center in G metropolitan city. Data analysed with t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, regression. The results were as follows. First, there were significant differences in the children's interpersonal relationship formative according to children' sex. There were significant differences in the emotional control and interpersonal cognitive problem solving ability according to their sibling and mother occupation. Second, there were significant correlations between the children's interpersonal relationship formative, emotional control and interpersonal cognitive problem solving ability. Third, the children's interpersonal relationship formative was affected by emotional control and interpersonal cognitive problem solving ability.

Relationship between Interpersonal Relationship Ability, Interpersonal Relationship Satisfaction, Stress and Department Satisfaction of Dental Hygiene Students (일부 치위생과 학생들의 대인관계 능력, 대인관계 만족도 및 스트레스와 학과만족도와의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify dental hygiene students' interpersonal relationship ability, interpersonal relationship satisfaction, stress levels and to develop positive measures for adapting to university life through the investigation of their relevance to the departmental satisfaction. It was conducted by using the convenience sampling of students enrolled in the dental hygiene department and a self-reported survey. Collected data were analyzing by using SPSS Statistics version 22.0 program (p=0.05). The correlations among their interpersonal relationship ability, interpersonal relationship satisfaction, stress and department satisfaction were examined to show that interpersonal relationship ability have a positive correlation with department satisfaction, while stress has a negative correlation with the latter. Both department intelligibility and interpersonal relationship ability, as factors influencing their department satisfaction, have positive effects on department satisfaction, indicating that the factors influencing that the factors influencing dental hygiene students' department satisfaction are interpersonal relationship ability and department intelligibility. Although this study is limited to generalization by conducting research on some dental hygiene students, it is deemed necessary to develop and apply interpersonal relationship ability and department-related information programs as a way to increase department satisfaction.

The Role of Maternal Interpersonal Relation Satisfaction in the Relationship between Conflicted Teacher-Child Relationship and Negative Peer Interaction Quality in Young Children

  • The effects of conflicted teacher-child relation on conflicted or passive peer interaction and a moderation effect of mothers' interpersonal relation satisfaction on the associations were assessed. Children from 2- to 6-year-olds (184 girls, 185 boys) mostly from middle socioeconomic-status urban community in Korea and their teachers and mothers participated. Conflicted teacher-child relation predicted conflicted peer interaction but not passive peer interaction. Children, whose relationship with teachers were conflicted, engaged in conflicted play with peers more often than children who were in less conflicted relationship with the teachers. Teachers who were in conflicted relationship with the children, perceived the children having conflicted interaction with peers more often, if mothers of the children were less satisfying in relationship with significant others, especially boys. Children, whose mothers are in less satisfying interpersonal relation with others, were more passive in peer interaction than children whose mothers are in more satisfying interpersonal relationship.

The Relationships among Emotional Intelligence, Interpersonal Relationship, and Job Satisfaction of Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 감성지능과 대인관계능력, 직무만족도의 관계)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relations among emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationship, and job satisfaction among clinical nurses. Methods: Data were collected from 315 nurses who had worked for more than 6 months at five general hospitals by a self-reported questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe-test, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchial regression using SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The mean score of emotional intelligence was 3.42 and the score of self emotional appraisal was the highest. The mean score of interpersonal relationship was 3.44 and the score of intimacy was the highest. The mean score of job satisfaction was 3.04. Emotional intelligence and interpersonal relationship were positively correlated with the job satisfaction. Hierarchial multiple regression analysis showed that use of emotion was the main factor of affecting job satisfaction, which explained 30.8% of the variance for the nurses' job satisfaction together with intimacy, regulation of emotion, position, and monthly salary. Conclusion: These findings indicated that emotional intelligence and interpersonal relationship, especially use and control of emotion and intimacy contributed to nurses' job satisfaction. It is necessary to develop and implement the program for increasing emotional intelligence and interpersonal relationship for improving job satisfaction.

The effects of self-esteem, interpersonal relationship abilities on department satisfaction in the dental hygiene students (치위생과 학생의 자아존중감 및 대인관계 능력이 학과 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of self-esteem and interpersonal relationship abilities on department satisfaction in the dental hygiene students. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by the dental hygiene students in Busan and Ulsan from March to May 2013. Results : Self-esteem had a positive relation with interpersonal relationship abilities(r=0.487, p<0.001) and department satisfaction (r=0.308, p<0.001). Interpersonal relationship had influence on department satisfaction (r=0.347, p<0.001). Multiple regression analysis showed positive relations with aptitude for dental hygienics(p<0.001), satisfaction with school facilities(p<0.001), interpersonal relationship abilities(p<0.001), choice motive for dental hygiene(p<0.05), self-esteem(p<0.05), and gender(p<0.05). Conclusions : To improve the department satisfaction, it is necessary to enhance self-esteem and interpersonal relationship abilities in the dental hygiene students by group counseling and active communication program.

A Study of Correlation among Interpersonal relationship, Self-esteem, and Self-efficacy of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 대인관계, 자아존중감 및 자기효능감에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the correlation among interpersonal relationship, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. Method: Design was descriptive correlative study, and subjects of this study were 353 persons who are students in nursing college. Measures were interpersonal relationship measurement (Cronbach's alpha=.720), self-esteem measurement (Cronbach's alpha=.731), and self-efficacy measurement (Cronbach's alpha=.810). Data were collected from October, 2004 to January, 2005. Data were analyzed with SPSS PC+ on each aim of this study. Result: Findings were as followings. 1. In relationships among interpersonal relationship(1), self-esteem(2), and self-efficacy(3) there were significant positive correlations ((1)(2)r=.526, p=000; (1)(3)r=.443, p=000; (2)(3)r=.556, p=000). 2. In differences of interpersonal relationship, self-esteem, and self-efficacy according to general characteristics there were significant differences in age, grade, satisfaction on credit, satisfied life in the University. Conclusion: Further needs nursing intervention to improve positively the interpersonal relationship that may effect on self-esteem and self-efficacy.
