Convergence relationship of Self-esteem, Empathy ability and Interpersonal relationship ability in dental hygiene students

Abstract
This study was to investigate the convergence relationship of self-esteem, empathy ability and interpersonal relationship ability of 351 dental hygiene students in Jeollabuk-do area. The data were analyzed using SPSS software program 22.0. In case of interpersonal relationship ability, there were significantly different means with health state(p=0.005) and major satisfaction(p=0.004). Self-esteem, empathy ability and interpersonal relationship ability was positive correlated(r=0.600, p<0.01). The factors influencing interpersonal relationship ability were self-esteem and empathy ability(p<0.001). The explanatory power of the study was 38.0%. It is necessary to develop a dental hygiene education program for improving self-esteem, empathy ability and interpersonal relationship ability.
