The Relationship between Adult Interpersonal Traumatic Experience and Posttraumatic Growth : The Multiple Mediating Effect of Optimism and Quality of Relationship (성인의 대인외상경험과 외상 후 성장의 관계 : 낙관성과 관계의 질의 다중매개효과)

  • This study is to research the mediating effects of optimism and quality of relationship which interpersonal traumatic experience influences posttraumatic growth. It focuss on verifying the impact of interpersonal traumatic experience to optimism and quality of relationship and the influence of optimism and quality of relationship to posttraumatic growth. And also it is to verify dual mediating effect between optimism and quality of relationship. Data for this study were collected through the use of a survey instrument completed by 405 interpersonal traumatic experience, 30-60 age group. Collected data were analysed by AMOS program, Structure Equation Model(SEM) was implemented to verify the mediating effect between optimism and quality of relationship. Finally, Phantom Variable was utilized for verification of indirect influence of a multi mediating effects. The findings of this study were as follows, First, the result shows that the higher level interpersonal traumatic experience, the higher posttraumatic growth they have. Second, it shows that optimism and quality of relationship have partial mediating effect between interpersonal traumatic experience and posttraumatic growth. Third, it was analyzed that optimism and quality of relationship had double mediating effect. Based on these findings, the research discussion reinforced the importance of intervene with its optimism and quality of relationship in the site of those who experience interpersonal trauma. Theological, political and practical implications of this study are as follows. First, it has a series of significance in terms of that this study confirmed its influence considering the quality of relationship from interpersonal experience among relevant factors of traumatic accident, optimism among individual factors, quality of relationship among environmental factors based on 'the crisis of life and the theory of individual growth'. econd, even though optimism and quality of relationship were proved as major predictors for posttraumatic growth of those who experience interpersonal traumatic, psychological support center for traumatic experience is not operated systematically in Korea. Third, this study implies that it should intervene mainly with its optimism and quality of relationship in the site of those who experience interpersonal trauma such as any abuses including sexual abuse, bullying, and divorce.

Moderating Effects of Self-expression and Attitudes Toward Seeking Help on the Relation between Interpersonal Relationship and Bullying among Adolescents (청소년들의 대인관계와 집단따돌림 피해경험 간의 관계에서 자기표현과 도움추구태도의 조절효과)

  • This study was conducted to analyze the moderating effect of self-expression and attitude toward help on the relation between interpersonal relationship and bullied experience among adolescents. Participants were 316 junior and highschool students in Seoul and Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do during May-June, 2014. As a result of analyses, first, the interpersonal relationship and self-expression had significant negative impact on bullied experience. Second, there was no significant correlation between attitude toward help and bullied experience. Third, self-expression had a significant moderating effect on the relationship between interpersonal relationship and bullied experience. Specifically, high self-expression weakened the negative influence of interpersonal relationship on bullied experience. Fourth, there was no significant moderating effect of attitude toward help on the relation between interpersonal relationship and bullied experience. Based on these results, we discussed the importance of self-expression for prevention of bullying among adolescents.

The Effects of Interpersonal Relationship Ability on Nurses' Retention Intention and Turnover Intention in a General Hospital (간호사의 대인관계 능력이 재직 의도와 이직 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to identify the effects of nurses' interpersonal relationship ability on retention intention and turnover intention. The participants were 192 general duty nurses from a general hospital (95 with 36 months of experience or less, 97 with 37 months of experience or more) recruited using convenience sampling. Data were collected between February 15 and February 22, 2022. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis, and more. The results demonstrated that turnover intention was higher among females. Also, a positive correlation between interpersonal relationship ability and retention intention was found to be significant among the nurses with at least 37 months of experience(r = .35, p < .001). The effect of interpersonal relationship ability on retention intention was found to be significant among the nurses with at least 37 months of experience(B = 0.71, t = 3.44, p < .001). However, the effect of interpersonal relationship ability on turnover intention was found to be nonsignificant. Based on these findings, this study concluded with the need for a strategy to strengthen interpersonal relation ability. during which the work experience should be considered, to promote nurses' retention intention.

Spirituality's Impact on Posttraumatic Interpersonal Relation Regarding the Distribution of Negative Affect (부정적 정서 유통에 따른 대인관계 문제의 영성효과: 트라우마를 중심으로)

  • Purpose - This paper aims to examine a spirituality's impact on the posttraumatic interpersonal relationships of family violence with a structural equation model(SEM). This article starts with the research idea that family violence experience bring about negative emotion in terms of interpersonal relationship leading to the distribution of negative affect in social relationship. The research question of this study pinpoints on how family violence experience affects interpersonal relationship problems and how spirituality affects interpersonal relations problems. Based on the idea, we attempts to deal with spirituality's impact as a driving factor of transforming the distribution of negative affect. Research design, data, and methodology - The structural equation modelling(SEM) is employed as a analysis method of this study. SEM provides a chiefly cross-sectional statistical modelling method, and moreover it allows multiple variables to be associated with a latent variable in this analysis. 300 samples from Seoul, Gyeonggy and Gangwon are selected in the survey. We chose available 271 among them. Results - The results verify that trauma have placed an negative impact on personal relations. The study results also shows that the more serious get the degree of family violence trauma, the worse become interpersonal relationship problems. What is more interesting is that the degree of trauma's impact on interpersonal relation problems in male is higher than that of trauma's impact in female. It is mainly attributed to the fact that women are superior to men in terms of empathy ability and interpersonal relationship orientation. It can be noted that the well-managed spirituality will be able to make a great contribution towards reducing the degree of trauma caused by interpersonal relationships. Conclusions - The study results demonstrates that family violence have negative impacts on spirituality, while spirituality have an positive impacts on reduction the problems of interpersonal relationship. It has been found out that family violence trauma may cause negative affectivity in personal relations, which can distribute negative impacts regarding interpersonal relationship in society. This study also supports that spirituality will be able to function well as a helper, which may reduce the distribution of negative affect in society.

Effects of College Student Gambling Experience on the Gambling Problems (대학생의 도박성 게임 경험이 도박문제에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of college student gambling experience on the gambling problems. Methods: The study included 260 students from four-year universities in Seoul and Gangwon Province, and collected data from March 1, 2018 to March 31, 2018. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 23.0. Results: First, gambling experience showed high frequency among males (68.5%), 21 years of age and older (45.5%), boarding house (66.1%), and two or more siblings (40.5%). Second, the gambling problem based on the experience of gambling was statistically significant in academic problem, interpersonal relationship, and gambling control. Third, the mental health of the subjects was highly correlated by interpersonal relationship, gambling recognition and academic problem. Also, academic problem was highly correlated in order of gambling control and interpersonal relationship. Fourth, effects of gambling experience on the gambling problems were identified as gambling control, interpersonal relationships, gambling awareness and mental health. Conclusion: Recognize the seriousness of the gambling problem of college students in order to solve the gambling problem, the government, communities and universities should actively promote the harmful effects of gambling and provide regular mental health. education at universities.

The Effects of Child Abuse Experience and Anger Expression on the Method of Resolving Interpersonal Conflicts (아동학대경험과 분노표출이 대인간 갈등해결방식에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of anger expression on the relationship between child abuse experience and the method of resolving interpersonal conflicts. For the study, 3,050 4th to 6th grade children from Kyunggi-do were sampled. The collected data were analyzed using simple regression, multi regression and a path analysis. This study showed that child abuse experience influenced the method of resolving the interpersonal conflicts via the expression of anger. In other words, anger expression could function as a pathway between child abuse experience and the method of resolving interpersonal conflicts.

The Effect of Appearance Satisfaction on Self-esteem: Interpersonal Relationship Experience Mediation-Focusing on High School Students (청소년의 외모 만족이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향: 대인관계 경험 매개 효과-고등학생을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this research was to understand the relations between the satisfaction of appearance and self-esteem and to prove mediating effect of interpersonal experience in that relation. The 239 subjects were selected from 118, 121 of male and female high school students in Seongnam. The research tools were Body Esteem Scale, the Self-Esteem Inventory and Relationship Scale. The Result of study were sa follows. First, appearance satisfaction, experience of relation and self-esteem had correlations in each relation. Second, Interpersonal experience would demonstrate self-esteem, and partial mediating effect was generated in the relations between appearance satisfaction and self-esteem. Especially, partial mediating effect was male student was higher. Based on these results, it was discussed the positive effects of positive interpersonal experiences on self-esteem for adolescents with low self-esteem due to low level of physical satisfaction and the direction of youth coaching.

Moderating and Mediating Effects of Resilience in the Relationship between Work Intensity, Interpersonal Conflict and Burnout among Nurses (간호사의 업무 강도, 대인관계 갈등과 소진의 관계에서 회복탄력성의 조절 및 매개 효과)

  • Purpose: For this study the moderating and mediating effects of resilience on the relationships between work intensity, conflicts in interpersonal relationship and nurses' burnout were investigated. Methods: In this descriptive research 227 nurses who consented to participate in the study were surveyed. The tool included nurses' objective work intensity, subjective work intensity, conflicts in interpersonal relationships, resilience, and burnout. Data were collected from nurses in general hospitals in D city from July to August 2017. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 program. Results: Participants' burnout showed a statistically significant difference according to age, marital status, total clinical experience, position, work pattern, frequency of night shifts, work department, and salary. Participants' burnout was significantly positively correlated with subjective work intensity and conflicts in interpersonal relationships, and significantly negatively correlated with resilience. Resilience moderated the relationship between participants' subjective work intensity and burnout, and mediated the relationship between conflicts in interpersonal relationships and burnout. Conclusion: Resilience had a moderating effect on the relationship between subjective work intensity and burnout, and a mediating effect on the relationship between conflicts in interpersonal relationships and burnout. Therefore, further efforts and diverse intervention measures are required to enhance resilience and reduce work intensity and conflicts in interpersonal relationships in order to prevent burnout in nurses.

  • Recently, colleges and universities provide programs of field experience for students to improve career development skills. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of participating field experience on communication ability, interpersonal relationship ability, and convergence competence. Data were collected from 1,887 college students, and were analyzed using one-way ANOVA. As a result, students who participated field experience program improved their communication ability, interpersonal relationship ability, and convergence competence. This study is expected to be utilized as basic references to promote field experience program in colleges and universities.

A Study on Relationship between Interpersonal Relation, Communication Skills and Work-related Stress in Physical Therapists

  • In this research, we performed to investigate the relationship between interpersonal relation, communication skills and work-related stress in physical therapists. The subjects of this study were consist of 388 physical therapists from general hospitals and medical rehabilitation centers in Gyeonggi region. Data were analyzed using the PASW 18.0. Work-related stress showed statistically significant differences according to the demographic characteristics of clinical experience. Interpersonal relation found significant negative correlation for work-related stress except job-demand stress. Also, this study found negative correlation between communication skills and work-related stress, and significantly correlated interpersonal relation with communication skill. The results of this study suggest that in developing programs to manage work-related stress for improving interpersonal relations and communication skills in physical therapists.
