  • We study Baer and quasi-Baer modules over some classes of rings. We also introduce a new class of modules called AI-modules, in which the kernel of every nonzero endomorphism is contained in a proper direct summand. The main results obtained here are: (1) A module is Baer iff it is an AI-module and has SSIP. (2) For a perfect ring R, the direct sum of Baer modules is Baer iff R is primary decomposable. (3) Every injective R-module is quasi-Baer iff R is a QI-ring.

  • We first show that any complete MV-algebra whose Boolean subalgebra of idempotent elements is atomic, called a complete MV-algebra with atomic center, is isomorphic to a product of unit interval MV-algebra 1's and finite linearly ordered MV-algebras of A(m)-type $(m{\in}{\mathbb{Z}}^+)$. Secondly, for a semi-simple MV-algebra A, we introduce a completion ${\delta}(A)$ of A which is a complete, MV-algebra with atomic center. Under their intrinsic topologies $(see\;{\S}3)$ A is densely embedded into ${\delta}(A)$. Moreover, ${\delta}(A)$ has the extension universal property so that complete MV-algebras with atomic centers are epireflective in semi-simple MV-algebras

  • An $n{\times}n$ matrix A over a commutative ring is strongly clean provided that it can be written as the sum of an idempotent matrix and an invertible matrix that commute. Let R be an arbitrary commutative ring, and let $A(x){\in}M_n(R[[x]])$. We prove, in this note, that $A(x){\in}M_n(R[[x]])$ is strongly clean if and only if $A(0){\in}M_n(R)$ is strongly clean. Strongly clean matrices over quotient rings of power series are also determined.

  • As a generalization of fuzzy subsemigroups, the notion of ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroups is introduced, and several properties are investigated. A condition for an ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroup to be a fuzzy subsemigroup is considered. Characterizations of ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroups are established, and we show that the intersection of two ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroups is also an ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroup. A condition for an ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroup to be ${\varepsilon}$-fuzzy idempotent is discussed. Using a given ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroup, a new ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroup is constructed. Finally, the fuzzy extension of an ${\varepsilon}$-generalized fuzzy subsemigroup is considered.

  • The purpose of this paper is to compute the number of semistar operations of certain classes of finite dimensional $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ domains. We prove that ${\mid}SStar(R){\mid}={\mid}Star(R){\mid}+{\mid}Spec(R){\mid}+ {\mid}Idem(R){\mid}$ where Idem(R) is the set of all nonzero idempotent prime ideals of R if and only if R is a $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ domain with Y -graph spectrum, that is, R is a $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ domain with exactly two maximal ideals M and N and $Spec(R)=\{(0){\varsubsetneq}P_1{\varsubsetneq}{\cdots}{\varsubsetneq}P_{n-1}{\varsubsetneq}M,N{\mid}P_{n-1}{\varsubsetneq}N\}$. We also characterize non-local $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ domains R such that ${\mid}SStar(R){\mid}=7$, respectively ${\mid}SStar(R){\mid}=14$.

  • We study the structure of rings whose factor rings modulo nonzero proper ideals are right duo; such rings are called right FD. We first see that this new ring property is not left-right symmetric. We prove for a non-prime right FD ring R that R is a subdirect product of subdirectly irreducible right FD rings; and that R/N∗(R) is a subdirect product of right duo domains, and R/J(R) is a subdirect product of division rings, where N∗(R) (J(R)) is the prime (Jacobson) radical of R. We study the relation among right FD rings, division rings, commutative rings, right duo rings and simple rings, in relation to matrix rings, polynomial rings and direct products. We prove that if a ring R is right FD and 0 ≠ e2 = e ∈ R then eRe is also right FD, examining that the class of right FD rings is not closed under subrings.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity. We call the ring R to be an almost quasi-coherent ring if for any finite set of elements α1, …, αp and a of R, there exists a positive integer m such that the ideals $\bigcap{_{i=1}^{p}}\;R{\alpha}^m_i$ and AnnRm) are finitely generated, and to be almost von Neumann regular rings if for any two elements a and b in R, there exists a positive integer n such that the ideal (αn, bn) is generated by an idempotent element. This paper establishes necessary and sufficient conditions for the Nagata's idealization and the amalgamated algebra to inherit these notions. Our results allow us to construct original examples of rings satisfying the above-mentioned properties.

  • In this paper, we present a new construction for self-dual codes that uses the concept of double bordered construction, group rings, and reverse circulant matrices. Using groups of orders 2, 3, 4, and 5, and by applying the construction over the binary field and the ring F2 + uF2, we obtain extremal binary self-dual codes of various lengths: 12, 16, 20, 24, 32, 40, and 48. In particular, we show the significance of this new construction by constructing the unique Extended Binary Golay Code [24, 12, 8] and the unique Extended Quadratic Residue [48, 24, 12] Type II linear block code. Moreover, we strengthen the existing relationship between units and non-units with the self-dual codes presented in [10] by limiting the conditions given in the corollary. Additionally, we establish a relationship between idempotent and self-dual codes, which is done for the first time in the literature.

  • In this article we look at the property of a 2 by 2 full matrix ring over the ring of integers, of being weakly right IQNN. This generalisation of the property of being right IQNN arises from products of idempotents and nilpotents. We shown that it is, indeed, a proper generalization of right IQNN. We consider the property of beign weakly right IQNN in relation to several kinds of factorizations of a free algebra in two indeterminates over the ring of integers modulo 2.

  • Let 𝒜 be a Banach algebra. An element a ∈ 𝒜 has generalized Drazin inverse if there exists b ∈ 𝒜 such that b = bab, ab = ba, a - a2b ∈ 𝒜qnil. New additive results for the generalized Drazin inverse of an operator over a Banach space are presented. we extend the main results of a paper of Shakoor, Yang and Ali from 2013 and of Wang, Huang and Chen from 2017. Appling these results to 2×2 operator matrices we also generalize results of a paper of Deng, Cvetković-Ilić and Wei from 2010.
