SMF9060 material is a Fe-based powder sintered alloy that is used for several automobile components such as Synchronize Hub, oil pump and transmission. These components are required excellent wear resistance and durability. In this study, we have performed a dry wear test at the ambient air and Ar gas conditions in the room temperature, and a lubricant wear test at the room temperature and engine oil temperature of $100^{\circ}C$. The amount of wear volume and coefficient friction are measured by a Profilometer and a Ball on disk type wear tester. The wear volume in Ar gas condition was a little higher than that in the ambient air condition. However the wear volume in the lubricant wear condition was much lower than in the dry wear condition. XRD analysis of the debris in Ar gas condition showed that the oxide film was not formed.
This study focused on predicting the fatigue life of an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) power module for electric locomotives. The effects of different wiring technologies, including aluminum wires, copper wires, aluminum ribbons, and copper ribbons, on solder fatigue life were investigated to meet the high power requirement of the IGBT module. The module's temperature distribution and solder fatigue behavior were investigated through coupled electro-thermo-mechanical analysis based on the finite element method. The ribbons attained a chip junction temperature that was 30℃ lower than that attained with conventional round wires. The ribbons also exhibited a lower plastic strain in comparison with the wires. However, the difference in plastic strain and junction temperature among the different ribbon materials was relatively small. The ribbons also exhibited different crack propagation behaviors relative to the wires. For the wires, the cracks initiated at the outmost edge of the solder, whereas for the ribbons, the cracks grew in the solder layer beneath the ribbons. Comparison of fatigue failure areas indicated that ribbon bonding technology could substantially enhance the fatigue life of IGBT modules and be a potential candidate for high power modules.

The Indium Zinc Tin Oxide (IZTO) and Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) thin films are grown on PI substrate at different substrate temperature by pulsed DC magnetron sputtering with a sintered ceramic target of IZTO (In2O3 70 wt.%, ZnO 15 wt.%, SnO2 15 wt.%) and ITO (In2O3 90wt.%, SnO2 10wt.%). The structural, electrical, and optical properties are investigated. The IZTO thin films deposited at low temperature showed relatively low electrical resistivity compared to ITO thin films deposited at low temperature. As a result, we could prepare the IZTO thin films with the resistivity as low as $5.6{\times}10^{-4}({\Omega}{\cdot}m)$. Both of the films deposited on PI substrate showed an average transmittance over 80% in visible range (400.800nm). Overall, IZTO thin film is a promising candidate as an alternative TCO material to ITO in flexible and OLED devices.
Satellite-based land surface temperature (LST) has been used as one of the major parameters in various climate and environmental models. Especially, Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) LST is the most widely used satellite-based LST product due to its spatiotemporal coverage (1 km spatial and sub-daily temporal resolutions) and longevity (> 20 years). However, there is an increasing demand for LST products with finer spatial resolution (e.g., 10-250 m) over regions such as urban areas. Therefore, various methods have been proposed to produce high-resolution MODIS-like LST less than 250 m (e.g., 100 m). The purpose of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of recent research trends and challenges for the downscaling of MODIS LST. Based on the recent literature survey for the past decade, the downscaling techniques classified into three groups-kernel-driven, fusion-based, and the combination of kernel-driven and fusion-based methods-were reviewed with their pros and cons. Then, five open issues and challenges were discussed: uncertainty in LST retrievals, low thermal contrast, the nonlinearity of LST temporal change, cloud contamination, and model generalization. Future research directions of LST downscaling were finally provided.
In the present study investigated the heat dissipation characteristics of the natural convection type radiator by using the latent heat from a solid-liquid PCM(Phase Change Material). Total radiator volume size is $423{\times}295{\times}83\;mm$ and PCM tank size is $398{\times}270{\times}26\;mm$. The objective was elapsed time lower than maximum operating temperature. Experimental condition, in order to study the effects of the phase-change phenomenon, carried out the various mass flow rate, input electric power, and heat of fusion temperature of two type PCMs. For the above experimental conditions, the cooling performance by using the latent heat showed that heat absorption rate performs for about 3 hours from using PCM $38^{\circ}C$. However, cooling performance by using PCM $50^{\circ}C$ showed higher than surface temperature of heater block because of heat of fusion.
Reduced Activation Ferritic/Martensitic Steels (RAFs) are leading candidntes for structural materials of a D-T fusion reactor. One of the RAFs, JLF-l (9Cr-2W-V, Ta) has been developed and has shown to have good resistance against high-fluency neutrino irradiation and good phase stability. Recently, in order to clarify the strengthening mechanisms at high temperatures, a new scheme to improve high temperature mechanical properties is desired. Therefore, the test technique development of high temperature creep behaviors for this material is very important. In this paper, the creep properties and creep life prediction, using the Larson-Miler parameter method for JLF-l to be used for fusion reactor materials or other high temperature components, are presented at the elevated temperatures of 50$0^{\circ}C$, 55$0^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$, $650^{\circ}C$ and 704$^{\circ}C$. It was confirmed, experimentally and quantitatively, that a creep life predictive equation, at such various high temperatures, is well derived mr the LMP method.

In nuclear fusion reactors, the key structural component (i.e., the plasma-facing component) undergoes high heat flux cyclic loading. To ensure the safety of fusion reactors, an experimental study on the temperature-induced creep of stainless steel under heat flux cyclic loading was performed in the present work. The strains were measured using a stereo digital image correlation technique (3D-DIC). The influence of the heat haze was eliminated, owing to the use of a vacuum environment. The specimen underwent heat flux cycles ($500^{\circ}C-1000^{\circ}C$) with different mechanical preloads (0 kN, 10 kN, 30 kN, and 50 kN). The results revealed that, for a relatively large preload (for example, 50 kN), a single temperature cycle can induce a residual strain of up to $15000{\mu}{\varepsilon}$.

To study the effects of chemical composition on the fusion temperatures of coal ashes, the chemical composition, mineral matter, and fusion temperature were studied with 54 kinds of coal ash samples including Korean anthracite coals. CaO, MgO and $Fe_2O_3$ were observed to be major fluxing elements in reducing and oxidizing atmosphere. The fluxing effect of $Fe_2O_3$ was increased more in reducing atmosphere. In a base/acid ratio, the fusion temperature decreased with increasing amounts of basic components. Nevertheless, the correlation between a fusion temperature and base/acid ratio was not shown well in a higher ratio of $Fe_2O_3/CaO$. The differences of fusion temperatures between oxidizing and reducing atmosphere showed close relationship with $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ ratio rather than with $Fe_2O_3$ contents. Multiple regression was used to predict the fusion temperature of coal ashes, and it was established that the major predictors in oxidizing atmosphere were Base/Acid, $Fe_2O_3/CaO$, $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$, and $(SiO_2/A1_2O_3){\cdot}(Base/Acid)$ and Base/Acid, $Fe_2O_3/CaO$, $SiO_2$, and $TiO_2$ were major ones in reducing atmosphere.
In this study, the high-temperature oxidation properties of austenitic 316L stainless steel manufactured by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) is investigated and compared with conventional 316L manufactured by hot rolling (HR). The initial microstructure of LPBF-SS316L exhibits a molten pool ~100 ㎛ in size and grains grown along the building direction. Isotropic grains (~35 ㎛) are detected in the HR-SS316L. In high-temperature oxidation tests performed at 700℃ and 900℃, LPBF-SS316L demonstrates slightly superior high-temperature oxidation resistance compared to HR-SS316L. After the initial oxidation at 700℃, shown as an increase in weight, almost no further oxidation is observed for both materials. At 900℃, the oxidation weight displays a parabolic trend and both materials exhibit similar behavior. However, at 1100℃, LPBF-SS316L oxidizes in a parabolic manner, but HR-SS316L shows a breakaway oxidation behavior. The oxide layers of LPBF-SS316L and HR-SS316L are mainly composed of Cr2O3, Fe-based oxides, and spinel phases. In LPBF-SS316L, a uniform Cr depletion region is observed, whereas a Cr depletion region appears at the grain boundary in HR-SS316L. It is evident from the results that the microstructure and the high-temperature oxidation characteristics and behavior are related.
