  • Medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkanoates (MCL-PHAs), which have constituents with a typical chain length of $C_{6}-C_{14}$, are polyesters that are synthesized and accumulated in a wide variety of Gram-negative bacteria, mainly pseudomonads. These biopolyesters are promising materials for various applications because they have useful mechanical properties and are biodegradable and biocompatible. The versatile metabolic capacity of some Pseudomonas spp. enables them to synthesize MCL-PHAs that contain various functional substituents; these MCL-PHAs are of great interest because these functional groups can improve the physical properties of the polymers, allowing the creation of tailor-made products. Moreover, some functional substituents can be modified by chemical reactions to obtain more useful groups that can extend the potential applications of MCL-PHAs as environmentally friendly polymers and functional biomaterials for use in biomedical fields. Although MCL-PHAs are water-insoluble, hydrophobic polymers, they can be degraded by microorganisms that produce extracellular MCL-PHA depolymerase. MCL-PHA-degraders are relatively uncommon in natural environments and, to date, only a limited number of MCL-PHA depolymerases have been investigated at the molecular level. All known MCL-PHA depolymerases share a highly significant similarity in amino acid sequences, as well as several enzymatic characteristics. This paper reviews recent advances in our knowledge of MCL-PHAs, with particular emphasis on the findings by our research group.

  • Many new functional materials have been studied for efficient production and storage of energy. Many new materials such as sodium-based and sulfide-based materials have been proposed for energy storage, but research on Li batteries is still dominant. Due to the influence of environmental concerns regarding nuclear energy, interest in and research on fusion power are steadily increasing. For the commercialization of nuclear fusion, a design standard based on a considerable level of physical analysis and modeling is proposed. Nevertheless, limitations of existing materials in nuclear fusion environments limit practical applications. Tritium propagation material for continuous fusion reaction is one of the core materials, and therefore research on this material is being carried out intermittently. The key material for Li-based energy storage and tritium generation is the functional material Li-M-O. In this review, a structural description of functional Li-M-O system materials and technical trends for its applications are introduced.

  • Development of novel conducting polymers (CPs) is expected to facilitate the advancement of functional materials used for energy, environmental, and nanotechnology. Recent research efforts are focused on doping CPs with functional dopants to enhance their performance or add additional functions that are not inherent in CPs. This review surveys literatures about the doped CPs focusing on the roles of functional dopants, unlike other reviews focusing on the development of new conducting polymer backbones. The functional dopants presented in this review include redox active molecules, carbon nanomaterials, biopolymers, and chelating molecules. Depending on the dopants and their physicochemical properties, the doped CPs can be used for a variety of applications such as polymer batteries, membranes for waste water treatment, and chemical sensors. A major challenge of the CPs is presented and the ways to overcome the challenge is also suggested for the future development of stable, high performance CPs.

  • In this paper, we study ARCH(${\infty}$) models with either geometrically decaying coefficients or hyperbolically decaying coefficients. Most popular autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (ARCH)-type models such as various modified generalized ARCH (GARCH) (p, q), fractionally integrated GARCH (FIGARCH), and hyperbolic GARCH (HYGARCH). can be expressed as one of these cases. Sufficient conditions for $L_2$-near-epoch dependent (NED) property to hold are established and the functional central limit theorems for ARCH(${\infty}$) models are proved.

  • A functional central limit theorem is obtained for a stationary linear process of the form $X_{t}= \sum\limits_{j=0}^\infty{a_{j}x_{t-j}}$, where {x_t} is a strictly stationary sequence of negatively associated random variables with suitable conditions and {a_j} is a sequence of real numbers with $\sum\limits_{j=0}^\infty|a_{j}|<\infty$.

  • In this paper we investigate a generalization of the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability for a functional equation of the form $f(\varphi(X))\;=\;\phi(X)f(X)$, where X lie in n-variables. As a consequence, we obtain a stability result in the sense of Hyers, Ulam, Rassias, and Gavruta for many other equations such as the gamma, beta, Schroder, iterative, and G-function type's equations.

  • In the present paper, we introduce a new system of functional equations, known as orthogonal Pexider hom-derivation and Pexider hom-Pexider derivation (briefly, (Pexider) hom-derivation). Using the fixed point method, we investigate the stability of Pexider hom-derivations and (Pexider) hom-derivations on Banach algebras.

  • In this paper, we present a development process model for mobile applications. It consists of five development phases including requirements analysis, architecture design, navigation design, page design, and implementation and testing phase. It provides a design method with diagrams. Our development method helps program developers define functional requirements and design applications architecture and functional flow. Through our method, they can reduce their applications development time and effort. We applied our method to developing a mobile application, and then presented the diagramming products as the result of performing development phases.
