  • In this paper, we give characteristic differential equations of a kind of projective vector fields on Finsler manifolds. Using these equations, we prove the vanishing theorem of projective vector fields on any compact Finsler manifold with the negative mean Ricci curvature, which is defined in [10]. This result involves the vanishing theorem of Killing vector fields in the Riemannian case and the work of [1, 14].

  • In the Finsler space with an $(\alpha, \beta)$-metric, we can consider the difference tensors of the Finsler connection. The properties of the conformal transformation of these difference tensors are investigated in the present paper. Some conformal invariant tensors are formed in the Finsler space with an $(\alpha, \beta)$-metric related with the difference tensors.

  • Let ${\varphi}\;:\;(M^n,\;F)\;{\rightarrow}\;(\overline{M}^{n+p},\;\overline{F})$ be an isometric immersion from a Finsler manifold to a Finsler manifold. In this paper, we shall obtain the Gauss and Codazzi equations with respect to the Chern connection on submanifolds M, by which we prove that if M is a weakly totally geodesic submanifold of $\overline{M}$, then flag curvature of M equals flag curvature of $\overline{M}$.

  • The ($\alpha,\;\beta$)-metric is a Finsler metric which is constructed from a Riemannian metric $\alpha$ and a differential 1-form $\beta$. In this paper, we discuss the projective flatness of Finsler spaces with certain ($\alpha,\;\beta$)-metrics ([5]) in a locally Minkowski space.

  • Biharmonic curves are a generalization of geodesics, with applications in elasticity theory and computer science. The paper proposes a first study of biharmonic curves in spaces with Finslerian geometry, covering the following topics: a deduction of their equations, specific properties and existence of non-geodesic biharmonic curves for some classes of Finsler spaces. Integration of the biharmonic equation is presented for two concrete Finsler metrics.

  • The Riemannian space of recurrent curvature was defined and studied by Ruse [8] and Walker [10]. In 1963, $M{\acute{o}}or$ [4] generalised this idea for Finsler spaces and defined and studied Finsler spaces of recurrent curvature. These spaces for various curvature tensors have subsequently been studied by Mishra and Pande [1], Sen [9] and Misra [3] etc. The purpose of the present paper is to study Finsler space based on the recurrency of the curvature tensors derived from non-linear connections.

  • In this paper we introduce in study a new class of complex Finsler spaces, namely the complex Randers spaces, for which the fundamental metric tensor and the Chern-Finsler connection are determined. A special approach is devoted to $K{\ddot{a}}ahler$-Randers metrics. Using the length arc parametrization for the extremal curves of the Euler-Lagrange equations we obtain a complex nonlinear connections of Lorentz type in a complex Randers space.

  • We establish some Hessian comparison theorems and volume comparison theorems for Riemann-Finsler manifolds under various line radial integral curvature bounds. As their applications, we obtain some results on first eigenvalue, Gromov pre-compactness and generalized Myers theorem for Riemann-Finsler manifolds under suitable line radial integral curvature bounds. Our results are new even in the Riemannian case.

  • The $(\alpha, \beta)$-metric is a Finsler metric which is constructed from a Riemannian metric $\alpha$ and a differential 1-form $\Beta$; it has been sometimes treat in theoretical physics. In particular, the projective flatness of Finsler space with a metric $L^2 = 2\alpha\beta$ is considered in detail.
