CONSTRUCTION OF CLASS FIELDS OVER IMAGINARY QUADRATIC FIELDS USING y-COORDINATES OF ELLIPTIC CURVES

  • By a change of variables we obtain new $y$-coordinates of elliptic curves. Utilizing these $y$-coordinates as meromorphic modular functions, together with the elliptic modular function, we generate the fields of meromorphic modular functions. Furthermore, by means of the special values of the $y$-coordinates, we construct the ray class fields over imaginary quadratic fields as well as normal bases of these ray class fields.

  • In this paper, we are concerned with the quasilinear elliptic systems with boundary blow-up conditions in a smooth bounded domain. Using the method of lower and upper solutions, we prove the sufficient conditions for the existence of the positive solution. Our main results are new and extend the results in [Mingxin Wang, Lei Wei, Existence and boundary blow-up rates of solutions for boundary blow-up elliptic systems, Nonlinear Analysis(In Press)].

  • A low-order finite element preconditioner is analyzed for a cubic spline collocation method which is used for discretizations of coupled elliptic problems derived from an optimal control problrm subject to an elliptic equation. Some numerical evidences are also provided.

  • The elliptic random field is an extension to the Gaussian random field. We proved a theorem which characterizes the elliptic random field. We proposed a heuristic approach to derive an approximation to the distribution of the size of one connected component of its excursion set above a high threshold. We used this approximation to approximate the distribution of the largest cluster size. We used simulation to compare the approximation with the exact distribution.

  • In this paper, we illustrate a counter example for the converse of a certain conjecture proposed by De Giorgi. De Giorgi suggested a series of conjectures, in which a certain integral condition for singularity or degeneracy of an elliptic operator is satisfied, the solutions are continuous. We construct some singular elliptic operators and solutions such that the integral condition does not hold, but the solutions are continuous.

  • We establish some characterizations of isoparametric surfaces in the three-dimensional Euclidean space, which are associated with the Laplacian operator defined by the so-called II-metric on surfaces with non-degenerate second fundamental form and the elliptic linear Weingarten metric on surfaces in the three-dimensional Euclidean space. We also study a Ricci soliton associated with the elliptic linear Weingarten metric.

  • In this paper the influence of aspect ratio, height ratio and material angle on static and free vibration behaviour of orthotropic elliptic paraboloid shells is studied by using a four-node hybrid stress finite element. The formulation of the element is based on Hellinger-Reissner variational principle. The element is developed by combining a hybrid plane stress element and a hybrid plate element. A parametric study is carried out for static and free vibration response of orthotropic elliptic paraboloid shells with respect to displacements, internal forces, fundamental frequencies and mode shapes by varying the aspect and height ratios, and material angle.

  • In this paper, we consider a class of noncooperative fourth-order elliptic systems involving nonlocal terms and critical growth in a bounded domain. With the help of Limit Index Theory due to Li [32] combined with the concentration compactness principle, we establish the existence of infinitely many solutions for the problem under the suitable conditions on the nonlinearity. Our results significantly complement and improve some recent results on the existence of solutions for fourth-order elliptic equations and Kirchhoff type problems with critical growth.

  • In this paper, we consider cooperative elliptic systems under conjugation conditions. We first prove the existence of the state for 2 × 2 cooperative elliptic systems with Dirichlet and Neumann conditions, then we find the set of equations and inequalities that characterizes the optimal control of distributed type for these systems. The case of n × n cooperative systems is also established.

  • In this paper, we implement Microsoft COM software modules for elliptic curve cryptographic applications and analyze its performance. The implemented COM software modules support all elliptic curve key exchange protocols and elliptic curve digital signature algorithm in IEEE 1363 finite fields GF(p) and GF(2m). Since the implemented software modules intend to focus on a component-based software development method, and thus it have a higher productivity and take systematic characteristics to be open outward and to be standardized. Accordingly, it enable a software to be developed easier and faster rather than a method using C library. In addition it support the Microsoft COM interface, we can easily implement secure software applications based on elliptic curve cryptographic algorithms.
