The effect of case-based learning based on flipped learning for nursing students (간호대학생을 대상으로 플립드 러닝을 활용한 사례기반학습의 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of case-based learning based on flipped learning in a pathophysiology course for nursing students. Methods: Participants were sophomore nursing students enrolled in a pathophysiology course. The experimental group (n=42) received the case-based learning in class after similar case-based learning in a pre-class based on flipped learning, while the control group (n=39) received the usual flipped learning. Data were analyzed by χ2-test, independent t-test, and ANCOVA using SPSS WIN 21.0. Results: There were significant differences in self-directed learning ability (F=10.93, p=.001), self-efficacy (F=5.45, p=.022), problem-solving ability (F=6.11, p=.016), and critical thinking disposition (F=6.76, p=.011) between the experimental group and the control group. Conclusion: The application of case-based learning based on flipped learning in a pathophysiology course for nursing students was effective in improving problem-solving and self-directed learning abilities, self-efficacy, and the critical thinking disposition of sophomore nursing students.

  • It has been well known for the stereoselectivity in pharmacodynamic effects of many xenobiotics including therapeutic agents, which have lead to the development of enantiomer drugs. Compared to pharmacodynamic stereoselectivity, stereoselective pharmacokinetics of each enantiomer has not been seriously considered in the development of enantiomer drugs although many reports have been demonstrated the stereoselective absorption and metabolism of racemic drug (e.g verapamil).   • Effects of forced physical exercise on the CCl4 hepatotoxicity were examined in adult female rats. Rats were treated with CCl4 (2 mmol/kg, ip) and introduced into a cylindrical cage rotating at 9 rpm for 20 min/hr for 6 hr. Eighteen hr following the termination of exercise serum sorbitol dehydrogenase (SDH), glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) activities and glucose-6-phosphatase activity were determined as parameters for hepatotoxicity. Physical exercise inhibited the $CCI_{4-}$induced increases in SDH, GOT, GPT activity, and glucose-6-phosphatase activity were determined as parameters for hepatotoxicity.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the effect on formation of computational abilities and dispositions to the first grade of elementary school students by applying of communicative teaching and learning activity. As a result of analysis, we could get some suggestive points and also we could make sure that computational abilities and dispositions of the first grade students are formed by applying of communicative teaching and learning activity. However, help and control of teacher have to be with it.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of child nursing simulation using standardized patient on nursing student's anxiety, self-efficacy, and critical thinking disposition. A one group pre test-post test design was used. The subjects of the study were 62 students in the nursing department and 4th year students at the university in C city. The hospitalized child nursing simulation was conducted for approximately 3.5 hours, including 60 minutes of pre-study and orientation, 60-80 minutes of hands-on scenarios, and 30 minutes of reflection diary writing and debriefing. The data collection was conducted from March to December 2016. Statistical analyses of the collected data were conducted, including t-tests, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Analyses were conducted using SPSS 21.0. The results of the study showed that anxiety (p <.001) was significantly lower and self-efficacy (p<.001) and critical thinking disposition (p<.001) were higher. Therefore, we propose that various scenarios for simulation practice that utilize standardized patients to enhance core nursing abilities be developed.

Differences between Critical thinking Disposition and Clinical practice according to Satisfaction for Nursinga Practice (간호학 만족도에 따른 비판적 사고성향과 임상수행능력의 변화)

  • This study examined the effects of stepwise education for operation patient care according to nursing satisfaction on the critical thinking disposition and clinical performance. The participants were 192 junior students who signed a consent form with an explanation of the study. Data were obtained from the students on the first day of junior's first semester and the last day of junior's first and second semester. Data analysis was performed using the number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi-square test, t-test, and repeated measure ANOVA through the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Results showed that nursing students with high nursing satisfaction had higher critical thinking disposition than those with lower nursing satisfaction (F=4.57, p=.012). There were no significant differences according to time (F=0.20, p=.821). The clinical performance was not significantly different according to nursing satisfaction (F=1.08, p=.343) and time (F=1.58, p=.210). This means that increasing nursing satisfaction would be a strategy for increasing the critical thinking disposition that was the core competency of nursing students.

  • This study was conducted to test the effects of flipped learning on learning motivation, academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition for undergraduate nursing students. This study used a one group pre-post test design. Participants were 88 nursing students. The flipped learning was provided for 4 times(8 hours) in adult nursing. Data were collected between March 5 and June 8, 2018. Data were analyzed by frequencies, paried t-test using SPSS/WIN 23.0. The results showed that learning motivation (t=12.7, p<.001) was significantly lower than levels before flipped learning, academic self-efficacy (t=-3.01, p<.001) was significantly higher than levels before flipped learning and critical thinking disposition (t=-.51, p=.606) was higher than levels before flipped learning but was no significantly. The study findings suggest that the flipped learning has proven to be influential educational program for improving the academic self-efficacy, critical thinking disposition of nursing students. The flipped learning was an effective teaching program for nursing students. But Learning motivation is decreased, It is necessary to develop flipped learning that can improve learning motivation.

The Influencing Factor of Awareness of Infection Control, Career Decision Making Self Efficacy and Critical Thinking Disposition on the Performance of Infection Control in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 감염관리 인지도, 진로결정자기효능감 및 비판적 사고성향이 감염관리 수행도에 미치는 영향요인)

  • This study was conducted to examine the effects of awareness of infection control, career decision making self efficacy and critical thinking disposition on the performance of infection control among nursing students. The study subjects were 404 third and fourth year nursing students at 4 colleges in D and K cities. The data were collected from November 5 to December 21, 2018 by using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 17.0 program to conduct descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, post-hoc Duncan's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. The average score of awareness of infection control was 4.75 points, career decision making self efficacy was 3.02 points, critical thinking disposition was 4.73 points and performance of infection control was 4.46 points. Performance of infection control was positively influenced by age, awareness of infection control and career decision making self efficacy. The explanatory power of the model was 38.6%. Therefore, these results imply the need to develop an education program to improve the awareness of infection control and career decision making self efficacy, which will enhance the performance of infection control of nursing students.

The Effects of Interpersonal relation disposition and Emotional intelligence on Interpersonal relation competence of Allied Health College Students

  • This study was conducted to confirm the influence of interpersonal disposition and emotional intelligence on interpersonal competence of allied health college students. For the research, a questionaire survey was conducted for students enrolled in the Department of Nursing and Physical Therapy from November 29 to December 16, 2019 and a total of 275 data were collected. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS program. As results of the study, the average of interpersonal competence was 4.10 and that of thoughtfulness-unconsideration was the highest among the eight interpersonal types and the average emotional intelligence was 2.73. The interpersonal dispositions that had a significant effect on interpersonal competence were initiative-congruence and aggression-non aggression and their explanatory power was 29.4% and the most influential interpersonal disposition was initiative-congruence. Emotional intelligence that had a significant effect on interpersonal competence were self-emotional expression, control of others and motivation and their explanatory power was 24.0% and the most influential emotional intelligence was motivation.

The Effect of the Blended learning and Case- based learning on Learning strategies, Critical Thinking Disposition, Academic Self-Efficacy of Nursing Students (블렌디드러닝 융합 사례기반학습이 간호대학생의 학습전략, 비판적 사고성향 및 학업적 자기효능감에 미치는 효과)

  • This study intends to test the effects of blended learning and case based learning on learning strategies, critical thinking disposition and academic self-efficacy for undergraduate nursing students. A one group pre-post design was applied to adult nursing of 23 nursing students. Data were collected between March 2 and April 30, 2021. Data were analyzed by using SPSS/WIN 23.0. The results showed that learning strategies(t=-2.43, p=.019) and sub-factor cognitive strategy (t=-2.22, p=.031), meta cognitive strategy(t=-2.59, p=.013) and resource management strategy (z=-2.46, p=.014) were significantly higher than levels before blended learning and case based learning. Critical thinking disposition(t=-1.14, p=.262) and academic self-efficacy(t=-.34, p=.734) were higher than levels before but was no significantly. In conclusion, It was confirmed that blended learning and case based learning is an effective educational program that improves learning strategies of nursing students. In the future, it is necessary to develop a program in which blended learning and case based learning can improve critical thinking disposition and academic self-efficacy, and to verify the effectiveness.
