Physical Modeling of SiC Power Diodes with Empirical Approximation

  • This article presents the development of a model for SiC power diodes based on the physics of the semiconductor. The model is able to simulate the behavior of the dynamics of the charges in the N- region based on the stored charge inside the SiC power diode, depending on the working regime of the device (turn-on, on-state, and turn-off). The optimal individual calculation of the ambipolar diffusion length for every phase of commutation allows for solving the ambipolar diffusion equation (ADE) using a very simple approach. By means of this methodology development a set of differential equations that models the main physical phenomena associated with the semiconductor power device are obtained. The model is developed in Pspice with acceptable simulation times and without convergence problems during its implementation.

  • According to development and diffusion of mobile communication device, the needs to use internet service with mobile communication device has increasing. so, new services has required for mobile communication device to use internet. therefore, internet accessing technologies are researched f9r many mobile communication device and the connection that utilize U and WAP, between mobile communication device and internet is being researched. But, small display of mobile communication device has weak point to use internet. so, in this paper, we design the voice supported WML Browser to overcome the weak point.

  • The multilayered monolithic type transdermal delivery device has been designed and analyzed by a numerical analysis. The device consists of three layered polymer matrices which posess the different diffusion parameters, respectively. The purpose of this study was to design an ideal transdermal drug delivery device which is capable of initial burst and zero order release later on. Numerical modelings were simulated for a dispersed and a dissolved multilayered monolithic system. The results showed that the dispersed multilayered monolithic system could meet the requirements for an ideal transdermal delivery device.

  • This paper examines the electrical characteristic of single oxide layer due to various diffusion conditions, substrate orientations, substrate resistivity and gas atmosphere in a diffusion furnace. The oxide quality was examined through the capacitance-voltage characteristic due to the annealing time after oxidation process, and the capacitance-voltage characteristics of the single oxide layer by will be described via semiconductor device simulation.

  • The rolls of triplet excitons in a polymer based photovoltaic (PV) device are investigated for improving the efficiency of PV devices. Generally, the thick photo-absorbing layer can improve the PV device efficiency by increasing the photon absorption. However, in case of PV devices with singlet excitons, the efficiency is limited by the short exciton diffusion length, which depends on the mobility and lifetimes of excitons. Therefore, using the triplet excitons, which have a higher mobility and longer lifetime, can solve the problem of premature exciton dissociation caused by the shorter singlet exciton diffusion length in the thick photo-absorbing layer. In this study, the triplet exciton dynamics of a conjugated polymer in a phosphorescent dye blended polymer PV device is investigated by photo-induced absorption, and PV devices performance at various concentrations of phosphorescent dye are is also evaluated.

  • In this paper, modified EDNMOS device with DPS (double polarity source) structure are suggested to realize stable and robust ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection performance of high voltage operating microchip. This DPS structure inserts the P+ diffusion layer on N+ source side, which in intended to block lateral extension of the electron rich region from N+ source side. Based on our simulation results, the inserted P+ diffusion layer effectively prevents the formation of deep electron channeling induced by high electron injection. As a result, our proposed DPS_EDNMOS devices could overcome the double snapback effect of conventional Std_EDNMOS device.

  • The mobile industry is the key foundation of digital convergence, and its constant growth is expected. Among mobile industries, new products leading the development of devices are the Emerging Device. This study is conducted to find out factors making differentiated by comparing the structural equation model(SEM) of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader. The main findings are as follows. First, the application of TAM to the Emerging Device shows that fitness of the model is generally high but the effect of Perceived Ease of Use has not been verified or found insignificant. Second, the acceptance model of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader has found that playfulness stimulates acceptance intentions. Third, the cost level of the Emerging Device acceptance model is not a factor stimulating consumers' acceptance intentions. Fourth, product attributes of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader to differentiate themselves from the other device are Functionality and Playfulness respectively.

  • This paper proposes a new color halftorning method using color correction by vector error diffusion to reduce color difference, necessarily appears on cross-media color reproduction In order to predict output colors on each device, a neural system IS applied and mean prediction errors in device characterization for monitor and printer are defined to calculate the thresholds for color correction Thus, color difference between monitor and printer is compared per each pixel If color difference is larger than the predetermined mean prediction errors, the halftoned dots to the current pixel are rearranged by vector error diffusion The proposed method can reduce the smear artifact by selective vector error diffusion and decrease color difference on cross- media color reproduction by color correction.

  • The traffic congestion is frequently occurring due to increasing demand for vehicles and development of subcenter in roads of domestic-downtown. The design of a Great depth underground double-deck tunnel planned for construction as a solution however it's mainly for a compact-car. Its low height and small section cause causalities when fire occurs. From this study, the delay system for fire smoke diffusion is developed to minimize the occurrence of casualties when fire occurs in the Great depth underground double-deck tunnel and the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) is used to find the optimal installation interval and the blockage ratio to maximize the system effects. The study analyzed the shorter the installation interval of the system, the higher the smoke delay effect but the efficiency-change tends to be slight above a certain distance and the larger the blockage ratio, the higher the effect but the efficiency-difference is slight according to installation interval.

  • Daylighting system is an alternative to the energy crisis and environment change. And it is possible improvement system of Architectural Space Environment. Accordingly, it is very useful system. Because Daylight Duct System of Daylighting System gives high performance for its price, distribution rate is very high. But Daylighting Duct System is hard to accurate control. Accordingly, it is difficult to maintain continuously Daylight Environment in Interior Spaces. Lighting Diffusion System has been developed that it is Applying the principle of Reflector and prism diffuser for maximize the efficiency of lighting of Daylight Duct Systems through this study. And then compare lighting performance of Existing System and new Lighting Diffusion System through producing a mock-up. Thus, this study was carried out for the purpose of verification for excellence. It is that installed Each Daylighting Duct System for performance evaluation in a laboratory of width 4m, length 10m, height 2.5m. And illuminance was measured at noon on winter solstice(December 22) under clean sky. The actual measurement result was in the following. Newly developed lighting Diffusion system was measured maximum illuminance 399, minimum illuminance 221, average illuminance 141. Synthetically, daylight factor, uniformity factor and illuminance distribution were improved more than existing system. As a result, it was confirmed that was improved lighting Environment in Interior Spaces.
