Mathematical creativity is essential in school mathematics and mathematics curriculum and ensures the growth of mathematical ability. Therefore mathematics educators try to develop students' creativity via mathematics education for a long time. In special, 2011 revised mathematics curriculum emphasizes mathematical creativity. Yet, it may seem like a vague characterization of mathematical creativity. Furthermore, it is needed to develop the methods for developing the mathematical creativity. So, the goal of this paper is to search for teaching and learning models for developing the mathematical creativity. For this, I discuss about issues of mathematical creativity and extract the factors of mathematical creativity. The factors of mathematical creativity are divided into cognitive factors, affective factors and attitude factors that become the factors of development of mathematical creativity in the mathematical instruction. And I develop 8-teaching and learning models for development of mathematical creativity based on the characters of mathematics and the most recent theories of mathematics education. These models make it crucial for students to develop the mathematical creativity and create the new mathematics in the future.
On considering the mathematical creativity of the gifted in mathematics, some points should be reflected such as the characteristics of leaners, the gifted and of domain-special facts in mathematics. And the clear view of mathematical creativity of the gifted in mathematics makes a way to define the meanings of creative-productive ability and of creative products. Therefore to explicate the concept of mathematical creativity of the gifted in mathematics, researcher reviewed literacies of the concept of creativity in general fields, classical mathematicians, and school mathematics. In conclusion, first, mathematical creativity of the gifted in mathematics should be considered on the aspects of subject-mathematics, object-the gifted, and performing-gifted education. Second, it contains advanced problem solving matters on the school mathematics curriculum but reflect the process of recovery and reinvent and it is suggested in [fig.1] and [fig.2].
Students not only learn mathematics knowledge, but also have the capability of mathematical creativity. The latter has been thought an important task in mathematics education by more and more mathematicians and mathematics educators. In this paper, mathematicians' methods of creating mathematics are presented. Then, the paper elaborates on how these methods can be utilized to enhance mathematical creativity in the schools.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceptions of creativity in mathematics of preservice elementary school teachers. Creativity in Mathematics is one of the most important components in mathematics teaching and learning, which has been emphasized in the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics and the 2009 Revised Mathematics Curriculum. For this study, the researcher analyzed reports of creativity in mathematics in mathematics lessons from the perspectives of 55 preservice elementary school teachers. The preservice teachers observed 55 mathematics lessons focusing on creativity in mathematics during their two-week-student-teaching period. The results showed the followings. First, the preservice teachers had a narrow perceptions on creativity in mathematics. Second, observational experiences of mathematics lessons led the preservice teachers to reconsideration of creativity in mathematics. Third, the preservice teachers provided a various strategies to enhance students' creativity in mathematics. The researcher suggested the followings. First, definitions and practices of creativity in mathematics should be included in the teacher education programs. Second, mathematics textbooks should include creativity in mathematics in a sophisticated manner. Third, creativity-rich materials should be developed and distributed to teachers. Finally, well-designed teacher training programs should be necessary.
This study was to explore the factors that mathematics teachers actually need to improve their students' creativity and character to pursue education in the direction of the revised curriculum. We first temporarily extracted the elements to reinforce mathematics teachers' professionalism for creativity and character education through literature review, and then conducted the modified delphi technique and interview by targeting secondary school mathematics teachers. Based on the discussion of previous studies, we divided into five areas for mathematics teachers' professional development of creativity and character education: 1. understanding of creativity and character education, 2. creating an environment, 3. understanding curriculum for creativity and character education, 4. instructional design and apply for creativity and character education, 5. evaluating for creativity and character education. Actually content elements highly required by mathematics teachers were reset 17 items. The results of this study are expected to be used as the basis for teachers' professional development of creativity and character education in mathematics education.
The purposes of this study were to design small group collaborative learning models for developing the creativity and to analyze the effects on applying the models in mathematics teaching and loaming. The meaning of open education in mathematics learning, the relation of creativity and inquiry learning, the relation of small group collaborative learning and creativity, and the relation of assessment and creativity were reviewed. And to investigate the relation small group collaborative learning and creativity, we developed three types of small group collaborative learning model- inquiry model, situation model, tradition model, and then conducted in elementary school and middle school. As a conclusion, this study suggested; (1) Small group collaborative learning can be conducted when the teacher understands the small group collaborative learning practice in the mathematics classroom and have desirable belief about mathematics instruction. (2) Students' mathematical anxiety can be reduced and students' involvement in mathematics learning can be facilitated, when mathematical tasks are provided through inquiry model and situation model. (3) Students' mathematical creativity can be enhanced when the teacher make classroom culture that students' thinking is valued and teacher's authority is reduced. (4) To develop students' mathematical creativity, the interaction between students in small group should be encouraged, and assessment of creativity development should be conduced systematically and continuously.
This study sheds light on the importance of developing creativity in mathematics class by examining the theoretical base of creativity and its relationship to mathematics. The study also reviewed the realities of developing creativity in mathematics courses, and it observed and analyzed the processes in which students and teachers solve the mathematics problems. By doing so, the study examined creative abilities of both students and teachers and suggests what teachers can do to tap the potential of the student. The subjects of the study are two groups of students and one group of mathematics teachers. These groups were required to solve a particular problems. The grading was made based on the mathematical creativity factors. There were marked differences in the ways of the solutions between of the student groups and the teacher group. It was clear that the teachers\\` thinking was limited to routine approaches in solving the given problems. In particular, there was a serious gap in the area of originality. As can be seen from the problem analysis by groups, there was a meaningful difference between the creativity factors of students and those of teachers. This study presented research findings obtained from students who were guided to freely express their creativity under encouragement and concern of their teachers. Thus, teachers should make an effort to break from their routine thinking processes and fixed ideas. In addition, teaching methods and contents should emphasize on development of creativity. Such efforts will surely lead to an outcome that is beneficial to students.
Mathematical creativity is the most important factor for the advancement of mathematics. Only creative mind can produce creative results. But not much research work has been done in this direction. The present author has taken a scheme of developing a mathematical creativity test to identify creative children in mathematics and to find the relationships of psychoticism, neuroticism, intelligence, ability to achieve in mathematics and general creativity with mathematical creativity and their composite effect on it over a population of Bengali medium school students. In this approach, Bengali adaptation of English version of the "Verbal Test of Creative Thinking" by Mehdi [Mehdi, B. (1985). Manual of verbal test of creative thinking (revised edition). Agra, India: National Psychological Corporation.] has been completed. Works of adapting intelligence test, developing mathematical creativity test, adapting personality test in Bengali are in process. Relationships are to be found later.
This study reviewed the notion and strategies of mathematical creativity from two point of view, mathematics and creativity. By these reviews, the spectrum was presented as frame of mathematical creativity task. Creativity and mathematics were seen as polar opposites and mathematical creativity task fit clearly at various points in this spectrum. Some focused on the quantity of ideas and originality from creative point of view. On the other hand, some focused on reasoning, insight, and generalization from mathematical point of view. The tasks on the spectrum were served as the vehicle of mathematical creativity and mathematics classroom. Therefore, there were some specific suggestions that mathematics classroom could be made a place where students and teachers would be able to foster their mathematical creativity.
In this paper, we review definition and concept of mathematical creativity. A couple of criteria have established for perspectives in mathematical creativity, The first is specific domain(mathematics) vs general domain(creativity) and the second is process(thinking process) vs outcome(divergent production). By these criteria, four perspectives have constructed : mathematics-thinking process approach(McTd), mathematics-divergent production approach(MctD), creativity-thinking process approach(mCTd), creativity-divergent production approach(mCtD). When mathematical creativity is researched by the specific reason and particular focus, an appropriate approach can be chosen in four perspectives.
