  • In present much CMOS devices used in VLSI circuit and Logic circuit. With increasing a number of device in VLSI, the confidence becomes more serious. This paper describe the mechanism of breakdown on CMOS, especially n-MOS, based on Hydro Dynamic model with device self-heating. Additionally, illustrate the CMOS latch-up characteristics on simplified device structure on this paper.

A Tsunami Simulation Model based on Cellular Automata for Analyzing Coastal Inundation: Case Study of Gwangalli Beach (지진해일로 인한 해안 침수 분석을 위한 셀 오토마타 기반의 시뮬레이션 모델 개발: 광안리 해변 사례 연구)

  • Tsunami occurred by a rapid change in the ocean floor is a natural disaster that causes serious damage worldwide. South Korea seems to be out of the range of this damage, but it is quite possible that South Korea will fall within the range due to the long-distance propagation features of tsunami and many earthquakes occurred in Japan. However, the analysis and preparation for tsunami have been still insufficient. In this paper, we propose a tsunami simulation model based on cellular automata for analyzing coastal inundation. The proposed model calculates the range of inundation in coastal areas by propagating the energy of tsunami using the interaction between neighboring cells. We define interaction rules and algorithms for the energy transfer and propose a software tool to effectively utilize the model. In addition, to verify and tune the simulation model, we used the actual tsunami data in 2010 at Dichato, Chile. As a case study, the proposed model was applied to analyze the coastal inundation according to tsunami height in Gwangali Beach, a famous site in Busan. It is expected that the simulation model can be a help to prepare an effective countermeasure against tsunami and be used for a virtual evacuating training.

  • This study was conducted to examine the convergence effects of a simulation-based handoff training program on nursing students' handoff performance ability and handoff confidence. A quasi-experimental study of pre and post-experimental design was performed on 104 nursing college students located in P city and A city and the developed simulation-based handoff training program was implemented for 2 weeks from October 30 to November 10, 2017. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 21.0 program with x2 test, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test, ANCOVA with pretest value as covariate. The experimental group had significantly different handoff Performance Ability in comparison to the control group. The simulation-based handoff training program can be used as an effective handoff training program to enhance the handoff performance ability of nursing students.

  • Neutron is an indirectly ionizing particle without charge, which is normally measured by detecting reaction products. Neutron detection system based on measuring gadolinium-converted gamma-rays is a good way to monitor the neutron because the representative prompt gamma-rays of gadolinium have low energies (79, 89, 182, and 199 keV). Low energy gamma-rays and their high attenuation coefficient on materials allow the simple design of a detector easier to manufacture. Thus, we designed a cadmium zinc telluride detector to investigate feasibility of simultaneous detection of gamma-rays and neutrons by using the Monte-Carlo simulation, which was divided into two parts; first was gamma-detection part and second was gamma- and neutron-simultaneous detection part. Consequently, we confirmed that simultaneous detection of gamma-rays and neutrons could be feasible and valid, although further research is needed for adoption on real detection.

  • A mobile manipulator is capable of handling a wide range of workspaces by overcoming the limitations of mobility inherent in existing fixed-base manipulators. To simulate the mobile manipulator, two contact operations should be considered in the physics engines. One of these operations is the grasp stability between the gripper and the object, while the other involves the contact between the wheels of the mobile robot and the ground during driving. However, it is still difficult to choose an appropriate physics engine for simulating these contact operations of the mobile manipulator. In this paper, the performance of physics engines for simulating the mobile manipulator is evaluated. Firstly, the grasp stability of the physics engine is quantitatively evaluated based on the contact force discontinuity. Secondly, when the mobile robot is controlled by open or closed-loop control methods, differences in the path taken by the mobile robot depending on the physics engine are analyzed. To assess the performance of robot simulation, three dynamic simulators-MuJoCo, CoppeliaSim, and IsaacSim-are used along with five physics engines: MuJoCo, Newton, ODE, Bullet, and PhysX.

Development and Effects of a Simulation-Based Convergence Practicum Education Program for Nursing Seniors (간호대학생 대상 시뮬레이션 기반 융합실습교육프로그램 개발 및 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate the effects of a simulation-based convergence practicum education program among senior nursing students. A repeated measure experimental design was used. A total of 77 senior nursing students were recruited from a university located in G city. Data was collected at baseline, program completion, and 2 month following completion of the practicum. Repeated measure ANOVA was used to evaluate the effects of the program. There were statistically significant improvements between baseline and program completion and between the baseline and 2 month follow-up. However, there was no significant differences between the program completion and 2 month follow-up. The study demonstrated that simulation-based convergence practicum education was an effective strategy to increase study outcomes and reduce clinical practice stress among senior nursing students. Further studies are needed to evaluate the effects of the program using randomized controlled trials.

The needs and effects of convergence-based simulation practice for obstetrical nursing (분만간호에 대한 융복합 기반 시뮬레이션 실습 효과 및 요구도)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the needs and effects of convergence-based simulation practice for obstetrical nursing. The study participants were 47 junior nursing students of a university in Chungnam province. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire from February 13 to 25, 2012. Convergence-based simulation practice for obstetrical nursing was applied 8 hours in a day for 2 days and consisted of four sessions. Self-efficacy in obstetrical nursing (t=-14.74, p<.001) and nursing skills related to obstetrical nursing (t=-17.51, p<.001) showed significant increase in the posttest and practice satisfaction was higher than practice stress. The needs of simulation practice was 7.96 out of 10 point and higher as practice satisfaction was higher. The needs of simulation practice before clinical practice was higher than simulation practice after clinical practice. These results indicate that simulation practice for obstetrical nursing can be used as the alternative for clinical practice. In addition to simulation practice should be done before clinical practice and strategies to increase the nursing student's cognition for the need of simulation practice are also needed.

An Improvement of the Convergence Speed through Tap Weight Updating of Dta-Recycling LMS Algorithm (데이터 재순환 LMS알고리즘의 탭 가중치 갱신을 통한 수렴속도 개선)

  • In this paper. a new simple and efficient technique to improve the convergence speed of LMS algorithm is introduced. The convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm, whose coefficients are multiply adapted in a symbol time period by recycling the received data, are analysis to prove theoretically the improvement of convergence speed. The theoretical analysis shows that the data-recycling LMS technique can increase convergence speed by (B+1) times, where B is the number of recycled data. The results of the computer simulation demonstrate that the simulation results are in accordance with the theoretical analysis and the superiority of the filter algorithm

  • In this paper, a new simple and efficient technique to improve the convergence speed of LMS algorithm is proposed in an interference-limited multi-path fading environment as encountered in indoor wireless communications. The convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm, whose coefficients are multiply adapted in a symbol time period by recycling the received data, are analyzed to prove theoretically the improvement of convergence speed. The theoretical analysis shows that the data-recycling in technique can increase convergence speed by (B+1) times without increasing the computational complexity substantially where B is the number of recycled data.   • The convergence analysis of adavtive control schemes has been studied over the past decades, but the importance of structure to fast conversgece of adaptive control systems is still a controversial issue. This paper deals with the relative improvement of the exponential rate of convergence in adaptive error models. The Lyapunov's direct method is applied to adaptive control systems in order to improve the convergence rate by modifying the feedback structure of the error systems. Some simulation examples are illustrated to show fast convergence and robustness of these schemes.
