We show a multiple recurrence theorem for topological dynamical systems with countable directed partial semigroup actions, which generalizes the well-know IP-version of multiple recurrence theorem proved by Furstenberg and Weiss.

We establish the generalized Myers theorem for Finsler manifolds under integral Ricci curvature bound. More precisely, we show that the forward complete Finsler n-manifold whose part of Ricci curvature less than a positive constant is small in $L^p$-norm (for p > n/2) have bounded diameter and finite fundamental group.

Purpose : There was a outbreak of aseptic meningitis in Busan, 2002. We report the clinical features and causative viruses. Methods : Two hundred seventy six children with aseptic meningitis who were admitted to the Department of Pediatrics, Maryknoll Hospital between January and December, 2002 were included. CSF, stool and throat swab viral cultures were done in 244 of these children. Results : The male to female ratio was 1.4 : 1. Age of patients varied from five months to fourteen years old. Average age was $5.7{\pm}6.2years$ old and mostly between one and four years.(41.3%) Monthly distribution revealed that the number of patients increased from May to July. The main symptoms were fever, headache and vomiting in this order. Respiratory tract infection symptom was associated from June to July and headache and nausea without fever were characteristically observed in children more than 10 years old from November to December. In peripheral blood examination, leukocytosis(WBC>$10,000/mm^3$) showed in 34.8%, ESR was increased in 56.1%, and CRP was positive value in 61%. Therefore differential diagnosis was difficult through peripheral blood examination. CSF findings revealed mean leukocyte count $86.5{\pm}180.2/mm^3$, protein $41.7{\pm}32.9mg/dL$, glucose $56.4{\pm}9.9mg/dL$. Median hospitalized period was $4.7{\pm}7.2days$ and compared with non-tapping group, hospitalized period was shorter and subsidance of symptoms was faster, therefore antibiotics injection period was shorter in the spinal tapping group. Virus was isolated in 31 cases of 244. The causative agents were echovirus 6, echovirus 9, echovirus 25, coxsakie virus B3, B4. Conclusion : There was an epidemics of aseptic meningitis in Busan, 2002; the causative agent was echovirus 6, 9, 25, coxsakie virus B3, B4.

Respiratory viruses were isolated from patients with acute respiratory infections in Busan during 2000-2001 and characterized for their antigenic properties. In 2000, 39 out of 43 isolated viruses were identified as influenza viruses and the others were adenoviruses. Among the isolated influenza viruses,23 were type A influenza viruses and 16 were type B influenza viruses. As a result of antigenic characterization, the influenza viruses were determined to A/Sydney/05/97(H3N2)-like, A/Beijing/262/95(H1N1)-like, and B/Harbin07/94-like viruses and serotypes of the isolated adenoviruses were type 1, 2, and 5. In 2001, 56 viruses were isolated and all of the viruses were identified as influenza viruses. They were A/panama/253/99(H3N2)-like and A/Newcaledonia/2007/99(H1Nl)-like viruses when determined by their antigenic properties. The sex distribution of the patients is as follows, 14 males (32.56%),23 females (67.44％) in 2000, and 23 males (41.07%), 33 females (58.93%) in 2001. Occurrence rate was found to be higher in female patients in both years. Age distribution of patients, in 2000, 48.84％ of infection occurred in 0 to 1 year old while in 2002, 33.93% occurred among 11-20 year olds. In 2000, occurrence rate was found to be high in January and again in April and various types of viruses were isolated. These results may be useful for vaccine development and establishment of reliable epidemic data.

We investigated the quality characteristics of eggs produced from laying hens fed with non-supplemented diets (A) and diets supplemented with 3% (B) and 5% (C) of sea urchin shell powder for efficient applications of sea urchin shell. There was no significant difference in the proximate composition. Ca and Fe contents of (B) and (C) groups were higher than those of (A) group. Contents of phosphorus and magnesium, however, showed no significant differences among the groups. (B) and (C) groups had higher in essential amino acid contents than (A) group except tryptophan. Taurine was detected in all groups. Analysis of fatty acid showed that (B) and (C) groups contained more unsaturated fatty acids. The DHA contents of (A), (B) and (C) groups were 0.56%, 0.68% and 0.89%, respectively. These results show that sea urchin shell possesses the potential as supplement of laying hens diets to produce functional eggs.

Nuclear factor-${\kappa}B$ (NF-${\kappa}B$) has been considered as one of the major targets for therapeutic agents of diverse human diseases. In the previous studies, 6-hydroxy-7-methoxychroman-2-carboxylic acid N-phenylamide (KL-1156) and chroman-2-carboxylic acid N-(4-chlorophenyl)amide were identified as good inhibitors of NF-${\kappa}B$ activation. In this continuous study, we describe the synthesis and NF-${\kappa}B$ inhibitory activities of chroman derivatives containing N-heteroaryl groups for exploration of SAR (structure-activity relationship). In addition, inhibitory effects of cell proliferation are evaluated against human cancer cell lines (NCI-H23 and PC-3).

A linear power amplifier is particularly emphasized on the CDMA system using a linear modulation scheme, because IMD which cause adjacent channel interference and co channel Interference is mostly generated in a nonlinear power amplifier. In this paper, a new type of linearization technique proposed. It is presented that balanced MESFET predistortion linearizer added. Experimental result are present for Korea PCS frequency band. The implemented linearizer is applied to a 30dBm class. A power amplifier for simulation performance. Two-tone signals at 1850 MHz and 1851.23 MHz are injected into the main power amplifier. The main power amplifier with a 12.1dB gain and a P1dB of 30 dBm(two-tone) was utlized. The reduction of IMD is around 22dB.

The ICP-CVD (inductively coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition) process was applied to the deposition of $TiB_2$ films. For plasma generation, 13.56 MHz r.f. power was supplied to 2-turn Cu coil placed inside chamber. And the gas mixture of $TiCl_4,\;BCl_3,\;H_2$ and Ar was used for $TiB_2$ deposition. $TiB_2$ films with high hardness (<40 GPa) were obtained at extremely low deposition temperature $(250^{\circ}C)$, and the films hardness increased with ICP power and gas flow ratio of $TiCl_4/BCl_3$. The film structure was changed from (100) preferred orientation to random orientation with increasing RF power. It is supposed that the enhanced hardness of films was caused by a strong Ti-B chemical bonding of stoichiometric $TiB_2$ films and film densification induced by high density plasma.
