  • In this paper, we consider the problem of testing the equality of the scale parameters in two parameter exponential distributions. We propose Bayesian testing procedures for the equality of the scale parameters under the noninformative priors. The noninformative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to a multiplicative constant. Thus, we propose the default Bayesian testing procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors under the reference priors. Simulation study and an example are provided.

  • This study deals with the small sample likelihood based inference for the ratio of two normal variances. The small sample likelihood inference is an approximation method. The signed log-likelihood ratio statistic and the modified signed log-likelihood ratio statistic, which converge to standard normal distribution, are proposed for the normal variance ratio. Through the simulation study, the coverage probabilities of confidence interval and power of the exact, the signed log-likelihood and the modified signed log-likelihood ratio statistic will be compared. A real data example will be provided.

  • Disaster and safety budget can be characterized as a large-scale public asset on which the government has a significant role. It is of a crucial importance to properly allocate the limited national budget to various areas as necessary. Higher investment efficiency of the budget related to disaster and safety management requires distribution criteria based on relevance and efficiency. Currently, the budget related to disaster and safety management is orchestrated through the prior consultation system. However, there is still no clear framework for reviewing the investment direction and setting the priority investment areas by prior consultation. This study analyzes the status and characteristics of disaster and safety management projects by damage type and proposes a structured system for prioritization. This framework can be useful in selecting the areas that need priority investments by damage type of disaster and safety management projects, thereby contributing to improving investment efficiency.

  • This article deals with the problem of testing the equality of the location parameters in the half-normal distributions. We propose Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures for the equality of the location parameters under the noninformative prior. The non-informative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to arbitrary constants. This problem can be deal with the use of the fractional Bayes factor or intrinsic Bayes factor. So we propose the default Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors under the reference priors. Simulation study and an example are provided.

  • In this paper, we develop the noninformative priors for the ratio of the scale parameters in the half logistic distributions. We develop the first and second order matching priors. It turns out that the second order matching prior matches the alternative coverage probabilities, and is a highest posterior density matching prior. Also we reveal that the one-at-a-time reference prior and Jeffreys' prior are the second order matching prior. We show that the proposed reference prior matches the target coverage probabilities in a frequentist sense through simulation study, and an example based on real data is given.

  • This paper derives noninformative priors for scale parameter of exponential distribution when the data are collected in multiple step stress accelerated life tests. We nd the objective priors for this model and show that the reference prior satisfies first order matching criterion. Also, we show that there exists no second order matching prior. Some simulation results are given and using artificial data, we perform Bayesian analysis for proposed priors.

  • In this paper, we develop the noninformative priors when the parameter of interest is the common coefficient of variation in two inverse Gaussian distributions. We want to develop the first and second order probability matching priors. But we prove that the second order probability matching prior does not exist. It turns out that the one-at-a-time and two group reference priors satisfy the first order matching criterion but Jeffreys' prior does not. The Bayesian credible intervals based on the one-at-a-time reference prior meet the frequentist target coverage probabilities much better than that of Jeffreys' prior. Some simulations are given.

  • This paper statistically analyzes the time required for each failure cause and describes a diagnostic method for 159 reports of failure analysis of MV cables that occurred in the distribution system of KEPCO over the past 18 years. In addition, the manufacturer's failure rate compared to 100C-km was calculated using 381 cases of MV cable deterioration failure between 2008 and 2020. It is hoped that this paper will help those in charge of maintaining underground facilities at the business office to use the failure rate to prioritize facility diagnosis.

  • Recently, several studies have been conducted using state space model. In this study, a dynamic linear model with state space model form is applied to stock data. The monthly returns for 135 Korean stocks are fitted to a dynamic linear model, to obtain an estimate of the time-varying 𝛽-coefficient time-series. The model formula used for the return is a capital asset pricing model formula explained in economics. In particular, the transition equation of the state space model form is appropriately modified to satisfy the assumptions of the error term. k-shape clustering is performed to classify the 135 estimated 𝛽 time-series into several groups. As a result of the clustering, four clusters are obtained, each consisting of approximately 30 stocks. It is found that the distribution is different for each group, so that it is well grouped to have its own characteristics. In addition, a common pattern is observed for each group, which could be interpreted appropriately.

  • The goal of this research is to examine how credit (loan) can help rural households in Tra Vinh province create jobs in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak in Vietnam over the last two years. The authors performed a direct survey, using a questionnaire, with 300 customers who had loan records at the Tra Vinh VBSP branch under the loan programs. From January to April 2021, jobs will be available at 07 transaction offices in districts and cities (Cau Ngang; Duyen Hai, Tieu Can, Cang Long, Tra Vinh City, Chau Thanh, Tra Cu). Using the multivariate regression method, the research has found 12 factors affecting the ability to access the employment loan program: Age, Educational Level, Occupation of households, Income, Household land area, Asset, Loan, Interest rates, Loan procedures, Loan purpose, Credit relations. From the above research results, the authors have proposed solutions to improve the ability to access credit to create jobs for each subject group at Viet Nam Bank for Social Policies, Tra Vinh Province in the future.
