  • The aesthetic value of Korea is rising in various fields through the use of designs using Korean materials. Korean materials contain oriental ideas and are widely used as materials for design development due to the uniqueness of its form. The purpose of this study is to present basic data of nail art design differentiated nail art designs required at the nail art industry site by producing nail works using Korean materials. Accordingly, We proceeded on the basis of theoretical consideration and empirical research for the development of nail art design, a field of beauty in this study, and made a Korean and unique nail art design work using the Four Gracious Plants. For this purpose, we considered theoretically the characteristics of nail art and the Gracious Plants, and made nail art design works derived from empirical research. The work was analyzed by color, texture, and design elements of form. Therefore, the mixed method of Nail Art and the Gracious Plants, which is the core of this study, is considered to be meaningful in laying the foundation for creative nail art design development.

  • This study empirically analyzes the factors that affect the people's enjoyment of pure culture and arts, especially art exhibitions. We use 56,588 sample data from the "The Survey of Cultural Enjoyment" collected by the Ministry of Cultrure, Sports and Tourism over the last 10 years and perform multiple regression and Multi-Way ANOVA to analyze the effect of individual's cultural experience on art exhibit visits. The results of the analysis show that the experience of participating in culture and arts events, culture and arts education, and participation in culture and arts clubs have a positive effect on the art exhibition visits. We also identify the positive interaction effects between the three independent variables. In other words, it was found that the average number of visits to art exhibitions was higher for groups who had experience of participating in culture and arts events, culture and arts education, and culture and arts clubs. This study provides a first empirical analysis on personal factors influencing art exhibition visits in Korea and lays the groundwork for future studies in developing a comprehensive predictive model for cultural art visits. In addition, we give policy implications and suggestions specifically, mid-term policies related to promoting art exhibition visits as an extension of individual's engagement with pure culture and arts through big data analysis.

  • Not only the consumption trend after the COVID-19 pandemic but also low financial interest rates have stimulated people to invest artworks. With the recent noticeable growth, art investments that mainly conducted by younger generation through online platform can be characterized by a fractional ownership in art market which means several people share one piece of artwork. This study explores 4 fractional ownership platforms in the domestic art market including Art Together, Art & Guide, Tessa, and Pica projects, using a business model canvas that describes nine key elements: Customer Segments, Value Proposition, Channels, Customer Relationships, Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Activities, Key Partners and Cost Structure. The four cases have similar business models, but the details of revenue streams are different. The key sources of revenue are the profit and commission of the work. Thus, maximizing the profit margin of artworks is the core of revenue streams, so selecting and purchasing highly profitable artworks are significant. Based on the analysis, there are 3 suggestions to continue fractional ownership platform businesses in art market successfully. First, it is required to have a long-term perspective on art investments, as a way to diverse asset portfolio. Second, business confidence should be increased to maintain customer loyalty. Third, the role of platforms as competent experts is important.

  • Adaptive Random Testing through Iterative Partitioning(IP-ART) is one of Adaptive Random Testing(ART) techniques. IP-ART uses an iterative partitioning method for input domain to improve the performances of early-versions of ART that have significant drawbacks in computation time. Another version of IP-ART, named with EIP-ART(IP-ART with Enlarged Input Domain), uses virtually enlarged input domain to remove the unevenly distributed parts near the boundary of the domain. EIP-ART could mitigate non-uniform test case distribution of IP-ART and achieve relatively high performances in a variety of input domain environments. The EIP-ART algorithm, however, have the drawback of higher computation time to generate test cases mainly due to the additional workload from enlarged input domain. For this reason, a revised version of IP-ART without input domain enlargement needs to improve the distribution of test cases to remove the additional time cost. We explore three smoothing algorithms which influence the distribution of test cases, and analyze to check if any performance improvements take place by them. The simulation results show that the algorithm of a restriction area management achieves better performance than other ones.

  • The Adaptive Random Testing(ART) aims to improve the performance of traditional Random Testing(RT) by reducing the number of test cases to find the failure region which is located in the input domain. Such enhancement can be obtained by efficient selection algorithms of test cases. The ART through Iterative Partitioning(IP-ART) is one of ART techniques and it uses an iterative input domain partitioning method to improve the performance of early-versions of ART which have significant drawbacks in computation time. And the IP-ART with Enlarged Input Domain(EIP-ART), an improved version of IP-ART, is known to make additional performance improvement with scalability by expanding to virtual test space beyond real input domain of IP-ART. The EIP-ART algorithm, however, have the drawback of heavy cost of computation time to generate test cases mainly due to the virtual input domain enlargement. For this reason, two algorithms are proposed in this paper to mitigate the computation overhead of the EIP-ART. In the experiments by simulations, the tiling technique of input domain, one of two proposed algorithms, showed significant improvements in terms of computation time and testing performance.

  • We aimsto examine the determinants of visitors' positive word-of-mouth (WOM) in a web-based virtual reality contemporary art exhibition. We also examines the effects of 3 realms of experience (entertainment, esthetic, escapist) on emotional arousal, how this emotional arousal affects memory and positive word-of-mouth, how memory affects positive word-of-mouth and how age moderate all of the paths. We examined a total of 297 visitors and was conducted through an online survey focusing on Chinese users of ages 20-49. The analysis results showed that entertainment and esthetic have an effect on emotional arousal, but escapist did not. The results also showed emotional arousal has an effect on memory and positive WOM. Memory did not affect positive word-of-mouth. Finally, age has a moderate effect on all the paths, except for the path form escape towards emotional arousal and memory to positive word-of-mouth. The theoretical implications of this study are meaningful exhibition research. While, it also will be helpful to segment the web-based virtual reality art exhibition visitors by dividing into 3 groups (20s, 30s, 40s) and to provide marketing and operation strategies.
