  • In this study, we investigated the influences of teaching practices upon pre-service secondary teachers' perceptions on the learning cycle by their understanding of it. Surveys on their understanding and perceptions of the learning cycle were administered to 37 seniors at the department of chemistry education in two colleges of education before teaching practices, and the survey for perceptions of the learning cycle was given to them after teaching practices. In addition, we selected seven pre-service teachers with decreased perceptions after teaching practices, and interviewed them thoroughly to investigate the factors influencing the decrease of their perceptions. The results revealed that the degree of pre-service secondary teachers' understanding of the learning cycle was not high, but their perceptions on the advantage/disadvantage of the learning cycle, their willingness to implement it, and the external aids influencing implementation were relatively positive before they practiced teaching. However, their positive perceptions more or less decreased after entering the teaching practice and the degree of decrease for those having a higher understanding of the learning cycle was larger than those having a lower understanding of it. The results of the interviews suggested the factors of pre-service teachers, students, curriculum and outside conditions as the causes of the decrease. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of character strength and self-efficacy on subjective happiness of adult learners of distance nursing education. The subjects were 261 adult learners of Bachelor Science in nursing course for Registered Nurse of a national open university. The mean score of subjective happiness of subjects was a little lower. 'Transcendence and Humanity' among Character Strength was the highest and 'Justice' was the lowest. Multiple regressions showed that positive integrity, hardiness, and perceived health status explained 38.0% of subjective happiness and positive integrity was the main influencing factor. The learning supporting strategies focusing on reinforcing these factors are needed to improve the subjective happiness of nurses who are continuing their learning through distance education.

  • Recently, due to the continuous changes in the business environment and increased competition, enterprises are introducing technology management to increase their value and enhance their competitiveness. In this study, based on the structural equations model, we investigated the effects of the core success factors of knowledge management on job fidelity and organizational performance and the mediating effects of organizational learning. In addition, organizational culture and information technology and process were assumed to be the key factors affecting knowledge management, and organizational learning was represented by experimental learning, indirect learning, and shared learning. As a result, it was found that knowledge management positively affects business fidelity and organizational performance and, even when it is mediated by organizational learning, it positively affects business fidelity and organization performance directly or indirectly. Therefore, we were able to confirm the importance of utilizing knowledge management in companies and to suggest an appropriate application scope for applying knowledge management and organizational learning.

  • This study investigated the English learners who are over 40 on their attitudes and perception for lifelong education by dividing them into age groups of middle aged and elderly learners. To this end, from May 20, 2020 to June 30, 2021, 80 participants attending lifelong education centers in North Gyeongsang province were surveyed on the demographic characteristics and interest, necessity, passion, advantage, hindrance, learning motivation, preferred subjects, and learning methods. As a result, it was found that elderly learners showed a more positive English learning attitude than middle-aged learners, and both groups considered the communication area important in their learning motivation and preferred subjects. In regard to hindrance toward English learning, different factors were shown according to the age groups along with lack of confidence in English. Differences were also shown in preferred learning methods. This study suggested the possibility of learning outcomes according to the positive learning attitude of elderly learners along with the need for detailed English program design according to learners' age.

  • This study explored the factors that influence elementary school teachers' intention to use an artificial intelligence (AI) math learning system and analyzed the interactions and relationships among these factors. Based on the technology acceptance model, perceived usefulness for math learning, perceived ease of use of AI, and attitude toward using AI were analyzed as the main variables. Data collected from a survey of 215 elementary school teachers was used to analyze the relationships between the variables using structural equation modeling. The results of the study showed that perceived usefulness for math learning and perceived ease of use of AI significantly influenced teachers' positive attitudes toward AI math learning systems, and positive attitudes significantly influenced their intention to use AI. These results suggest that it is important to positively change teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of using AI technology in mathematics instruction and their attitudes toward AI technology in order to effectively adopt and utilize AI-based mathematics education tools in the future.

  • This study aimed to analyze the characteristic of undergraduate students' perception and preference for mathematics. For this purpose, I surveyed 124 undergraduate students' metaphorical expressions about mathematics. I classified the expressions as four categories: a positive form, a negative form, a mixed form, an undecidable form. I investigated the proportion and characteristic of the metaphorical expressions according to the above four categories. Also, I surveyed the students' preference and nonpreference moments for mathematics and categorized them into 6-cases: elementary school, middle school, high school, university, always, and none. In addition, I examined the students' preference and nonpreference reasons for mathematics and classified them according to the 5-factors: grade factor, affective factor, content factor, teacher factor, and other factors. The results of this study as follows: First, the 27% of university students expressed their metaphorical expressions for mathematics as a positive form, 42% as a negative form, and 27% as a mixed form. Also, the preference rate for mathematics was higher as their school years increase and the main reasons of preference were grade and affective factors. The result of nonpreference rate was also higher as their school year increased. Students said that the contents and grade factor were the main factors among the 5-factors.

  • The rapidly changing business environment requires small and medium-sized suppliers to develop creative new products. Therefore, many previous studies have attempted to identify important factors for successful new product development. However, despite the importance of firm learning has generated considerable interest in new product development, the central issue of firm learning remains unanswered. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of adaptive learning of small and medium suppliers on creativity and new product performance in new product development. As a result, it was confirmed that adaptive learning positively affects both novelty creativity and meaningfulness creativity. On the other hand, meaningfulness creativity has a positive effect on new product performance, but novelty creativity has no effect on new product performance.

  • Recently the era of software integration which is expressed in words of the fourth industrial revolution has begun. Thus the need of the software education for the non-major preservice teachers who are cultivating future talent has been increasing and it is necessary to foster a positive attitude toward software education of non-major preservice teachers. The purpose of this study is to verify the causality between the computer learning attitude factors of non-major preservice teachers in the software education class. To analyze the causality, we performed correlational analysis and regression analysis between the exterior factors of attention, self-learning, application of learning and the other interior factors of computer learning attitude. As a result, the significant factor of attention was interests, and the significant factor of self-learning was superiority, and the significant factors of the application of learning were the sense of purpose and the motive of accomplishment.

  • Investigations into how the status of prior learning on the textbook of science were conducted, and the effects of prior learning on students' attitudes towards science class were carried out. The investigations for the status of prior learning were performed with a number of students who experienced prior learning, (self-directed and unself-directed prior learning), a selfless intention as the starting motive for prior learning, the problem solving strategies used by students in prior learning, and the important factor that influenced prior learning. The effects of prior learning on student attitude towards science class were also examined with respect to four categories, including confidence, interest, learning intention, and value (effect). The effects of prior learning on the four categories were analyzed on the basis of the students' level of scientific achievement, the types of prior learning, the starting motive for prior learning, and the extent of the students' understanding of the content on prior learning. The analytical results for the effects of prior learning on students' attitudes towards science class showed that the mean values of confidence, learning intention, and value among the students in the self-directed prior learning group were higher than those of the students in the unself-directed prior learning group. These findings are the result of positive recognition, such as the possibility that the students experienced with self-directed prior learning can do, the induction of an inherent motive based on their level of achievement in science class, and the operant learning of strategies for solving problems in science class. Meanwhile, by the effects of having a teacher lead the science class and the consensus formed between friends, the mean level of interest was higher in the unself-directed prior learning than in the self-directed prior learning.
