  • 코발트계 비정질 합금을 여러 온도 구간 및 시간에 대해서 열처리하며 표면 결정화 현상이 자기 이방성에 미치는 영향을 탐구하였다. 자기 이방성은 비정질 표면의 결정 구조에 민감한 변화를 보였는데 면심입방점 코발트에 많은 결함이 존재할 경우 자기이방성이 최대치를 나타내였다.

제일원리 계산에 의한 Fe/Pt (001) 표면의 평형 구조 및 자기이방성 연구

  • 제일원리 계산으로 Fe/Pt (001) 표면의 표면상태도를 계산하고 표면상태도로 부터 얻어진 평형 Fe/Pt (001) 표면구조의 자기이방성에너지를 계산하였음. 계산된 표면상태도로 부터 Fe-rich $L1_2$ 구조와 수직 $L1_0$ 구조가 가장 안정한 표면 Fe/Pt (001) 구조임이 밝혀졌음. 제일원리로 계산 된 두 구조의 자기이방성에너지를 관측하여 두 구조의 자기용이축이 모두 [001] 방향으로 정렬 됨을 확인하였다. 자기이방성에너지가 격자 변화와 표면 형성 중 어떤 원인에 의해 발생하는지 판단하기 위해서 표면구조, 벌크구조, 및 표면구조와 동일한 격자상수를 가진 벌크구조를 비교 하였다. 비교 결과에 의해 자기이방성에너지의 주 원인은 표면 형성임이 밝혀졌으며 이를 좀 더 명확히 하기위해 상태밀도함수를 계산하였다. 상태밀도함수 계산 결과 Fe 원자의 $3d_{z2}$ 오비탈의 페르미 준위 아래에서의 상태가 표면이 형성되면서 증가하는 것을 관측하였으며 이는 [001] 방향으로의 자기이방성을 증가시키는 오비탈이므로 표면 형성에 따른 자기이방성에너지 증가는 Fe 원자의 $3d_{z2}$ 오비탈에 의함이 판명되었다.

  • Propagation of elastic surface waves in anisotropic media is considered in this study. An analytical technique is proposed to study the scattering of surface waves at the interface between two anisotropic quarter-spaces. The Green's function technique is used to derive a system of equations which can determine the scattering coefficients at the interface. A numerical study is carried out and the trade-offs between the material anisotropy and inhomogeneity are studied.

  • 직물의 질감을 객관화시키는 연구는 고부가가치의 의류제품을 생산하고 판매하는데 매우 중요한 요소이다. 섬유제품의 표면 거칠기에 대한 연구를 통해, 인간이 섬유제품에서 느끼는 촉감과 그러한 촉각을 느끼게 하는 여러 물리적, 기계적 요인들과의 관계를 조사하고, 인간이 제품을 만질 때 느끼는 감성을 객관화 하여 감성적인 제품의 생산에 응용할 수 있는 자료를 마련해 보고자 한다. 질감은 직물의 역학적 성질과 표면 상태에 따라 좌우되는데 직물은 경사와 위사가 서로 엮어지고 짜여져 표면굴곡과 이방성을 가지게 된다. (중략)

LSAW Velocity Measurement by Using a PVDF Line-Focus Ultrasonic Transducer (PVDF 직선집속 초음파 트랜스듀서에 의한 누설탄성표면파 속도 측정)

  • Velocities of leaky surface acoustic waves (LSAW/sub s/) were measured by using a line-focus polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) transducer and compared with theoretically calculated ones. Isotropic materials of Cu, Al, fused quartz, and anisotropic one of Z-cut α-quartz crystal were used as specimens. The velocities were obtained by the separation time between wave components reflected directly from the surface of specimen and LSAW components according to the defocusing distance. The measured velocities well agree with the theoretical results within 1% error, and it was shown that the leaky pseudo-surface acoustic wave (LPSAW) as well as the LSAW propagates with the typical 6-fold anisotropy on the (0,0,1) surface of α-quartz.

Dynamic Responses on Semi-Infinite Space Due to Transient Line Source in Orthotropic Media (선형하중에 의한 직교이방성 매체의 반구계에서 동적 응답 특성)

  • The analysis of dynamic responses are carried out on several orthotropic systems due to transient line source. These include infinite and semi-infinite spaces. The media possess orthotropic or higher symmetry. The lode is in the form of a normal stress acting with parallel to symmetry axis on the plane of symmetry within the materials. The results are first derived for responses of infinite media due to a harmonic line source. Subsequently the results for semi-infinite are derived by using superposition of the solution in the infinite medium together with a scattered solution from the boundaries. The sum of both solutions has to satisfy stress free boundary conditions thereby leading to the complete solutions. Explicit splutions for the displacements due to transient line loads are then obtaind by using Cargniard-DeHoop contour.

  • Explicit expressions are derived for the effective reflection coefficients of obliquely incident light on a multilayered substrate coated with two uniaxially anisotropic films. Based on these reflection coefficients, ellipsometric constants are obtained as function of the tilt and azimuthal angles of the optical axes of the uniaxial films. Explicit expressions are provided, which can be used to separate the effects of surface anisotropy for anisotropic film from that of its bulk anisotropy, so that these expressions may be utilized in characterizing the surface anisotropy of alignment layers.

A Study on the Ferromagnetic Resonance of FeNb Thin Films (FeNb 박막의 강자성 공명 연구)

  • In order to understand the temperature dependence of magnetic properties of $F_{84}Nb_{16}$(wt.%) thin films, ferromagnetic resonance experiments have been carried out. The ferromagnetic resonance spectra for all temperatures consist of several volume modes and one (or two) surface modes. It is suggested that both surface of the film have a perpendicular hard axis to the film plane (negative surface magnetic anisotropy). Saturation magnetization coincides with the Block's T$\^$2/3/ and spectroscopic splitting factor is almost constant in the temperature range from 113 K to 293 K. The surface magnetic anisotropy constant K$\_$s2/ of the film-substrate interface increased with decreasing temperature in the temperature range from 233 K to 293 K. The surface magnetic anisotropy constant K$\_$s1/ of the air-substrate interface decreased from -0.322 erg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to -0.394 erg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ as the temperature decreased to 253 K and was almost constant below 233 K.233 K.

Magnetism and Magnetocrystalline Anisotropy of Ni/Fe(001) Surface: A First Principles Study (Ni/Fe(001)의 자성과 자기이방성에 대한 제일원리계산)

  • Recent theoretical calculations predicted that a system composed exclusively of 3d transition metals without 4d/5d transition metals or rare earth metals can have strong perpendicular magnetocrystalline anisotropy (MCA) if Fe and Ni layers are arranged appropriately. They considered only Fe-terminated surfaces, noting that Fe/MgO(001) and CoFeB/MgO(001) show strong perpendicular MCA. In this paper, we investigate magnetism and MCA of Ni/Fe(001) surface where Ni layer is positioned at the surface, by using complementarily the first principles calculational methods of Vienna Ab-initio Simulation Package (VASP) and Full-potential Linearized Augmented Plane Wave (FLAPW) method. Comparing results of magnetism and MCA obtained by VASP with the results by FLAPW method, we find the VASP results do not show big difference from results by FLAPW method. Magnetic moments of Fe and Ni are enhanced due to strong hybridization between Fe and Ni bands. MCA of Ni/Fe(001) is parallel to the surface, which implies the surface termination plays a crucial role in determining MCA of a system.

Thickness Dependence of Ferromagnetic Resonance Properties in NiFe Thin Films (NiFe 박막의 두께에 따른 강자성 공명 특성 분석)

  • The out-of-plane and in-plane angular dependence of ferromagnetic resonance field was measured in NiFe thin films fabricated by magnetron sputtering. The effective magnetization was obtained from the out-of-plane angular dependence of ferromagnetic resonance field, which was well agreed with calculated one. The decrease of effective magnetization with NiFe thickness was due to the surface anisotropy constant of $K_s=-0.23\;erg/cm^2$. The in-plane uniaxial anisotropy fields were obtained from the in-plane angular dependence of ferromagnetic resonance field. The easy axis of in-plane uniaxial anisotropy field was rotated to the reverse direction of applied magnetic field during sample fabrication, which was explained by the antiferromagnetic NiFeO layer at sample surface.
