The purpose of this study is to find out a model to explain the process of students' science-related career choice by identifying the causal relationships between science career choice and related factors. Important factors of science-related career choice were identified through factor analysis. 'Perception about career related to science', 'preference for science learning' and 'participation in science related activity' were three main factors of science-related career choice. A questionnaire was developed to know the factors of students' science-related career choice, and so as to make it possible to be analysed by structural equation modeling. The subject were 947 grade 6, 9, and 11 students in Seoul. Numbers of boys and girls in each grade was almost same. According to the structural equation modeling, 4 corrected models were obtained. In all 4 corrected models, 'perception about career related to science' had direct influence, and 'preference for science learning' and 'participation in science related activity' had indirect influence on science-related career choice. In the most fitting model. 'perception about career related to science' had an effect on science-related career choice with standardized total effect coefficient 1.03(direct effect 0.82, indirect effect 0.21). 'Preference for science learning', which influence 'participation in science related activity', had an effect on science-related career choice with standardized indirect effect coefficient 0.65. 'Participation in science related activity', which influence 'perception about career related to science'. had an effect on science-related career choice with standardized indirect effect coefficient 0.79. The implication to school science education is that it is most effective to raise the 'perception about career related to science' in order to make more students choose science related career. It is also effective to have more students participate in science related activity and enhance the preference for science learning. To explain the process of science related career choice more fully, it is necessary to build a more comprehensive model containing more factors influencing science-related career choice. It is necessary to test and complement the structural equation model by enlarging the subject to science high school students and science related college students.
Purposes: The purpose of this study was to investigate the satisfaction of each activity in the high school students (568 students) after school career education (Career and vocation, Curriculum-related career education, Special lecture related to career, Entrance exam session, Career psychology test, Internet lecture), and then to analyze the career decision-making self-efficacy of the items Goal selection, Job information, Problem solving and Future plan by high, middle, and low group. Methods: Questionnaires administered to subjects after career education counseling education. Results: Career decision - making self - efficacy was significantly higher in the high group than in the middle and low groups in the goal selection, job information, problem-solving and future planning by the educational satisfaction on career and vocation, curriculum-related lectures, entrance examination session (p<.001). The level of satisfaction of special career lectures was in the order of low group> high group> middle group in career decision self - efficacy, and the values of high and low groups were significantly higher than those of the middle group. The effect of satisfaction on career decision self - efficiency in Career psychological examination education was in the order of top> middle> low groups in goal choice and job information, and the high group values were significantly higher than the middle and low groups. In the problem solving and future planning, there was a difference between high, middle, and low group values, but there was no significant difference. The effect of the satisfaction of the internet course on the career decision self - efficacy was not significant, but there was a difference between the high, middle, and low groups. Satisfaction with the internet course was low and did not affect the decision - making self - efficacy significantly. Conclusion: The higher the satisfaction of career education, the higher self - determination efficacy of goal selection, job information, problem solving and future plan. This study suggests the direction of career education.

Korean society believes that graduating from university is essential but even though choosing a career is important because of this social phenomenon, teenagers or the younger generation lack many aspects to choose or take responsibility of their career. Therefore, they are affected by others and this study explores how university students' career identity affects their self-career control and major satisfaction. The subjects of this research were 300 students of M college ranging from freshmen to juniors. The research period was 2015.09.30~10.07. Among the study results, the results of career identity affecting self-career control are career environment setting 18%, career commitment will 27%, planning and examining 18%, career feedback 12%, positive thinking 22% and study shows that career commitment will has a large impact on career identity. Second, the results of how career identity affects major satisfaction revealed that recognition satisfaction, relation satisfaction, and normal satisfaction have a large influence on career decision. This analysis result concludes that a college student's career identity lowers the conflict of choosing a major or job and with a higher satisfaction of their major, can obtain self-confidence of choosing a job, searching for a job, and setting a life goal. Therefore, in order to raise career identity, colleges need to research and develop career guidance programs and career counseling.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the improvement of career self-efficacy of middle school students through the fashion career educational program designed for Free-semester. For the purpose of this study, three middle schools were implemented and their effects were verified. First, the fashion career educational program was designed based on subordinate elements of career education: job information searching, self-understanding and exploration, career-planning, and problem-solving. The results of this study were as follows: First, the fashion career education program has positive effects on the improvement of career self-efficacy of middle school students. The positive experiences of accomplishment through task solving, the role experience of successful role model, the return of successful experience, and the positive interactions of teachers and friends that can be done in the future have brought positive changes to career self-efficacy. Second, this program has positive effects on the career self-efficacy sub-factors, which are career exploration efficacy, career decision making efficacy, and career-performing efficacy. As a result of practicing and exploring activities related to fashion, It seems to be due to the self - confidence of planning and preparing their own career through their self-understanding and exploration, collecting information of job, problem solving, career planning, etc.
This study aims to validate the Korean Student Career Construction Inventory, a translated measure of career adaptation responses, with Korean college students. In order to do so, this study examines the relevant factor structure, internal consistency, test-retest reliability, criterion-related validity and measurement invariance between Korean undergraduate and graduate students. An online survey was completed by 294 participants, including the questions from the translated Korean Student Career Construction Inventory, in addition to measures of career adaptability and vocational identity. One hundred twenty five among the initial participants were tested again in three months for the examination of test-retest reliability. The results supported the four-factor structure of 18 items suggested by the original measure, as well as measurement invariance. The internal consistency and test-retest reliability were adequate. The Korean Student Career Construction Inventory was positively correlated with career adaptability, unidimensional vocational identity, and the dimensions of exploration and commitment of multidimensional vocational identity, but negatively with the dimension of reconsideration. The findings indicate that the Korean Student Career Construction Inventory has psychometric properties similar to the original form and can be used for both undergraduate and graduate students.
The purpose of this study is to analyze foodservice and culinary arts majors' career preparation behavior by grade and career decision-making self-efficacy levels. Toward this end, 250 students majoring in foodservice and culinary arts were selected as a sample from three universities located in Chungcheong province. A total of 217 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed after excluding 33 copies. The results of this study are as follows. First, upper-grade students were more actively engaged in career exploration, information collection, experiencing behavior, and career preparation behavior than lower-grade students. Second, the level of career preparation behavior of the group with higher career decision-making self-efficacy was higher than the other with lower career decision-making self-efficacy. Third, the interactive effects of career decision-making self-efficacy and grade on career preparation behavior proved to be statistically insignificant Thus, career decision self-efficacy should be improved and the foundation of structured career education should be established according to grade.
The study was aimed to identify the factors on career maturity in high school students. From May 2, 2017 to December 2, 2017, a total of 143 high school students from eight different high schools in two city participated the study. Pearson's correlation coefficients and regression analysis, using SPSS 24.0 version program. Ther were statistically significant positive correlations among experience in career counselling with family, relationship with parents, self-efficacy and career maturity. Multiple regression analysis revealed that the experience in career counselling with family, relationship with parents and self-efficacy explained an 76.8% of career maturity. We should include parents in their education so that parents can provide counseling and support in their children's career exploration and decisions so that they can enhance their own self-efficiency. It is necessary to develop a program that will directly improve students' self-efficiency in the career path, considering that it can improve their confidence and ultimately affect their career maturity.
This study examined the evidence on how self-leadership and career decision-making self-efficacy scale can produce a mediating effect on the relation between critical thinking disposition and career preparation behavior of nursing students. The subjects were college students majoring in nursing in Gwangju. The data collected was for 263 such students. It was analyzed with SPSS 23.0 for windows. To examine the mediating effect, the study used Sobel. The findings were as follows. First, critical thinking disposition positively influences career preparation behavior of nursing students. Secondly, self-leadership and career decision-making self-efficacy show a complete mediating effect on the relation between critical thinking disposition and career preparation behavior in nursing students. These findings suggest that in order to promote career preparation behavior of nursing students, educational programs should improve subjects on critical thinking disposition. It also suggests self-leadership and career decision self-efficacy should be provided in nursing education field.
This study aims to examine how Science Gifted Education Center(SGEC) affect the decision of graduates of gifted education institute in applying for science-related Special high school. To this end, the study investigated factors that affected their decision on applying for higher SGEC, such as career goal prior to their admission to a SGEC, motivation for the admission, and curricular activities at SGEC. A questionnaire survey was administered on 30 students, and resulting data were used as basic information to construct interview questions. Selected 22 students among them were interviewed separately, with transcripts of the recorded interviews being analyzed. The results of the study indicate that among many factors of SGEC for the gifted which affected student's choice of special-purpose high school of science, activities of the center putting an emphasis on open research activities and social interaction had a positive effect on the students' choice of special high school.
This study was undertaken to investigate the degree of career satisfaction and its affecting factors for senior nursing students. The subjects were 131 senior nursing students from one college located in Seoul. The data analyzed by using SPSS-WIN 18.0 program. Career satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation with recognition of career related to major(r=.690, p<.001), learning preference related to major(r=.666, p<.001), participation of activities related to major(r=.537, p<.001), major performance(r=.231, p=.008), concentration of major(r=.508, p<.001), intrinsic motivation(r=.357, p<.001), problem solving ability(r=.452, p<.001), satisfaction of laboratorial practice(r=.476, p<.001) and satisfaction of clinical practice(r=.410, p<.001). In addition, recognition of career, learning preference, participation of activities, concentration of major, and satisfaction of laboratorial practice were significant predictors to explain career satisfaction(63%). It is necessary to develop an effective career guidance program to improve career satisfaction considering these findings.
