Factors Influencing job Satisfaction of Clinical Dental Hygienists (임상치과위생사의 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 요인)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to understand influencing factors of job satisfaction of clinical dental hygienists and use them as basic data for enhancing their job satisfaction. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 182 dental clinic hygienists from April 1 to April 30 of 2019. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. Results: The influencing factors of job satisfaction of clinical dental hygienists included job stress and professional self-concept. Conclusions: The higher the professional self - concept, the higher the job satisfaction, the lower the job stress of clinical dental hygienist. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and apply a program that can enhance the professional self concept of clinical dental hygienists and reduce job stress.

Analysis of the Influence of Human Nature Factors, Mental Health Factors and Fatigue on Occupational Stress among Hospital Administrative Staff Using a Structural Equation Model (구조방정식모형을 이용한 병원행정직의 인성, 정신건강 및 피로가 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • This study was performed to determine the occupational stress and its association with human nature factors, mental health factors and fatigue among some hospital administrative staff. The survey was administered to 189 staff in Jeonbuk area from June 1st to July 31th, 2014. The level of occupational stress was positively correlated with human nature, mental health and fatigue. The results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis show the following. The occupational stress of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group of female, a group that chance locus of control is higher, a group that external locus of control is lower, a group of the lower self-esteem, a group of higher situational fatigue, a group of higher psycho-social stress, and a group of higher depression. Their explanatory power was 60.4%. With the analysis of covariance structure, we could confirm relationship among the four factors such as human nature, mental health, fatigue and occupational stress. Also, the analysis showed that human nature factors were more influential on the occupational stress than mental health factors and fatigue.

  • Effective for the operation of fire department management of occupational stress than what organizational members perceive and to identify factors that would cause job stress. Dysfunction caused by job stress or minimize that by eliminating the stress factor that can enhance organizational effectiveness research is needed. The results of the study the impact on job stress of firefighters of the psychological environment of the most influential factor is the variable. Next, organizational culture, physical environment, orderly, and administration and human relations were not significant statistically.

  • This research has its purpose to seek, among the CEOs of social enterprises, the influence of job stress on business performance, social support inbetween them, and adjusting role of government-supported policies. CEO of social enterprise, which is established to realize its social purposes, receives the job stress due to business ethics, profitability, identity crisis, management challenges and etc. We would like to set the foundation for the enterprises to constantly conduct social purposes within the local society by raising the business performances of social enterprises through seeking the measures to resolve such job stresses of the CEOs by expressing them. This research applied the ISR Job Stress Model theroy as its main ground of theoretical background. We would like to analyze the inter-significance by setting the job stress causes and job stress influences as independent variables, business achievements as a dependent variable, and social support, government-supported policies as moderating variables. For the methods of the research, we collected, using structuralized questionnaire, from 223 social enterprise CEOs located within Korea. Data analysis used IBM SPSS Statristics 20.0 programme, and through general characteristic of sample, confidence testing, factorial analysis, correlation analysis and research hypothesis testing, drew the following results. First, job stress factor and influence were analyzed to have negative impacts on business performance. Second, social support was found to lower job stress factor and influence, and raise business performance. Third, government-supported policy was analyzed to lower job stress factor and influence, and raise business performance.

Analysis of relationship between job stress and turnover intention of physical therapists (물리치료사의 직무스트레스와 이직의도의 관련성 분석)

  • This study attempted to examine the job stress and turnover intentions of physical therapists and to investigate the relationship between these two factors. A total of 309 physical therapists currently working in Gyeonggi-do and Incheon in South Korea were selected as research subjects. The data were collected by a survey using self-administered questionnaires structured from June 10 to June 25, 2015. According to the study results, job stress was highest in job autonomy and lowest in relationship conflict, while the turnover intention score was $2.80{\pm}0.70$. The physical therapists showed higher job stress and turnover intention level with increasing age and working experience, showing a significant positive correlation(p<.05). The turnover intention showed a significant positive correlation with all of the job stress factors. Decreased work motivation showed a significant positive correlation with all of the job stress factors except for job instability(p<.05). In addition, among the factors for the job stress, Job autonomy, Structure and organization, Inappropriate compensation, and Workplace culture turned out to be those affecting their turnover intention. This study confirmed that an increase of job stress among physical therapists can be a risk factor of higher turnover intention, implying a necessity to try to reduce their job stress and turnover intention.

Mediating Effect of Job Stress in the Relationship between Childcare Teachers' Personality and Child Abuse (보육교사의 인성과 아동학대 관계에서 직무스트레스의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of job stress between childcare teacher personality and child abuse, and provides basic data on personality education and coping strategies for childcare teachers' job stress. A survey was conducted on 326 childcare teachers working at daycare centers in Incheon, Korea. The collected questionnaires were subjected to regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, and Sobel's Z-test according to the research purpose with using SPSS 20.0. The research results are as follow. First, it was found that job performance, a sub-factor of childcare teacher personality, had an effect on child abuse. Second, it was found that the sub-factors of childcare teacher personality, humanity, creativity and personality, social relations, and job performance had an effect on job stress. Third, it was found that childcare activities, the sub-factors of job stress, and the relationship with parents had an effect on child abuse. Fourth, it was found that childcare activities, sub-factors of job stress, partially mediated between job performance and child abuse, a sub-factor of childcare teacher personality. These findings suggest that in order to prevent and contain child abuse by childcare teachers, specific plan must be actively prepared to improve job performance skills related to childcare teacher personality and reduce the burden of child care activities which is a sub-factor of job stress.

The Effect of Work Environment on Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Facility Security Worker (시설경비업 종사자의 근무환경이 직무스트레스와 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study conducted a survey of 315 facility security workers in Daejeon, South Chungcheong Province and Gyeonggi Province for about a week from August 7 to August 13, 2019 to identify the impact of work environment and job stress on job satisfaction, and finally collected 293 of the total 315 parts of the data, excluding non-response and inappropriate responses. The STATA 14.2 Statistical Package Program was used for analysis of the collected data, frequency analysis was performed to determine the distribution ratio of the subjects, and reliability analysis and correlation analysis were performed with respect to the established key variables. Next, t-test and one-way ANOVA were conducted to verify differences in work environment, task stress and task satisfaction factors according to demographic characteristics, and the results were as follows: There were differences in work environment, job stress and job satisfaction recognition depending on demographic characteristics. In detail, the factors for the work environment indicated significant differences in age, academic background, number of years of service, wages and types of service in the recognition of the work environment. Job stress factors indicated significant differences in age, education, wages and types of service in job stress recognition. In job satisfaction factors, age, academic background, number of years of service and wages (monthly benefits) showed significant differences in job satisfaction recognition. In addition, the results of multiple regression analyses to identify the working environment, job stress, and job satisfaction are as follows. The working environment has had a positive impact on job satisfaction, and the better the job environment, promotion and organizational characteristics, the higher the job satisfaction. It has been shown that job stress has had a negative impact on job satisfaction, conflict of relationship (promoting colleagues). job autonomy increases job satisfaction, and job satisfaction decreases when job requirements and job insecurity increase. In terms of the impact of work environment on job satisfaction, the higher the work promotion, job environment and organizational characteristics, the higher the job satisfaction level, the report showed. According to these studies, the better the working environment, the lower the job stress, and the lower the job stress, the higher the job satisfaction. In addition, the better the working environment, the more satisfied the job was found to be, and the empirical research result was verified that improvement of the working environment of security workers can reduce job stress and improve job satisfaction through improvement of the working environment.

The Relationship between Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Geriatric Care Helpers (요양보호사의 직무스트레스와 직무만족 간의 관계)

  • The research on the analysis of relationship between job stress and job satisfaction has been conducted targeting 355 Geriatric Care Helpers who are caring for the elderly people in the geriatric care centers in the area of Busan by the Act of Long-term Care Insurance for the Geriatric. As the method for the analysis t-test was conducted to investigate their job stress, counter-stress experience and effort, and job satisfaction. Also regression analysis was conducted to analyse the factors having effect on the job satisfaction of geriatric care helpers. The results of analysis can be summarized as following. First, job stress of geriatric care helpers at hospitals has shown significant difference from that at geriatric care centers, while job satisfaction of geriatric care helpers at care centers has shown some difference from that at hospitals. Second, measurement experience and effort of job stress was shown to some difference according to each institution. Third, the effect factors on geriatric care helpers were employment type, job stress, stress with patients in the case of hospitals, while those on geriatric care helpers were average wage, employment type, the number of charging patients, job stress, job requirement stress, and stress with patients. However, regardless of the type of employed institution, job satisfaction was shown high in case of full time job, low job stress, and high stress with patients.

The Relationship between Job Stress and Organizational Effectiveness for Office Workers (기업조직 특성에 따른 사무직 근로자의 직무스트레스와 조직효과성 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide the evidence necessary to establish job stress management strategies to improve office workers conditions by looking at the impact on job stress factors depending on the nature of the organization. The stress related variables (job stress and psychological well-being) and organizational effectiveness variables (job satisfaction, job engagement, intention to leave, and presentieesm) was included. A total of 154 questionnaires were distributed from 26th June to 1 August 2014 and 150 people were analyzed. The results indicated that a lack of reward was negatively correlated with job satisfaction and job engagement, and positively correlated with the intention to leave (p<0.05) in a large-sized company model. Moreover, in a medium-sized company model, organizational injustice was statistically significant with job satisfaction and job engagement. Organizational injustice, lack of reward, and occupational climate was positively correlated with the intention to leave (p<0.05). This study has its significance in that it looked at the job stress as a predictive variable to explain the organizational effectiveness and highlights the need to establish a stress management strategy depending on the nature of the company.

A Study on the Occupational Stress, Health Status and Somatization for Dental Hygienist (치과위생사의 직무스트레스와 건강상태 및 신체화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data for managing occupational stress and promoting health by investigating the factors of dental hygienists' occupational stress and the relationship among occupational stress, health status and somatization. The subjects in this study are 28 dental hygienists who have worked at dental clinic in the metropolitan area. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. The average age of the subjects is 25.1 and the average working career is 42.8 months. 8-9 hours is the most frequent average working time as 55.5% and a 6-day workweek appears most frequently with 33.8%. 2. The total average of occupational stress is 45.24 points and out of the seven sub-factors, job demand is the highest as 56.17 points. 3. A group of working at dental university hospitals scores significantly high and a group of working over 10 hours per day scores significantly low in health status (p<0.05). 4. A group of a 5-day workweek. night and holiday duty scores 18.64 which is significantly high in somatization(p<0.05). 5. Occupational stress have slightly negative correlation (-.341, p<0.01) with health status and slightly positive correlation (.330, p<0.01) with somatization. There is a strong, negative correlation between health status and somatization(-.762, p<0.01 ). 6. Health status and somatization have a slightly positive correlation with every other sub-factor of occupational stress except job self-control.
