To do this, we analyzed the frequency of presentation of science core competencies in middle school second grade textbooks, and surveyed 400 students from three schools in Chungnam area to find out their perception of science core competency. The survey consisted of 15 questions consisting of a five-step Likert scale and 5 ranking questions. The survey analyzed the responses of 327 people who responded faithfully and conducted a post-interview survey to interpret the survey results. The main findings are as follows: First, in the second grade middle school science textbook, the proportion of 'scientific thinking', 'scientific inquiry,' and 'scientific communication' is large, and the students are perceived to have a high proportion of 'scientific thinking,' 'scientific inquiry,' and 'scientific problem solving' in the textbook. Second, students recognize that the proportion of 'scientific inquiry' and 'scientific problem solving' in the evaluation conducted in school was high, and the proportion of 'scientific communication' and 'scientific participation and lifelong learning' was very low. Third, the most important competency in science that students perceive is the 'scientific problem solving,' the competency they wanted most from science is the 'scientific inquiry,' and the competency most needed to live in future society is the 'scientific communication.' Fourth, in the case of 'scientific participation and lifelong learning,' it is an important element of science literacy, but the proportion of consisting science textbooks is low, and students are not aware of the importance or necessity in science.

  • This study is a descriptive research study to determine the mediating effect of anxiety in the relationship between patient care communication and patient satisfaction among hospitalized patients. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires from October to December 2021. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression using the SPSS 24.0 program, and the effectiveness of the mediation effect was tested using the Sobel test. As a result of the study, there was a positive correlation between patient care communication and patient satisfaction, and a negative correlation between patient care communication and anxiety. And there was also a negative correlation between patient satisfaction and anxiety. In the relationship between patient care communication and patient satisfaction, anxiety had a partial mediating effect (z=2.93, p<.001), with an explanatory power of 38.4%. In order to improve patient satisfaction based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a program that can improve nurses' patient care communication capabilities and reduce patients' anxiety.

  • Communication is one of 6 core competencies suggested newly in mathematics curriculum revised in 2015 in Korea. Also, it's importance has been emphasized through NCTM and CCSSI. By the subject of Mathematics in Context(MiC) textbook, this study planned to explore the communication elements according to the types of communication such as discourse, representation, operation. Namely, this study dealt with 316 questions in a total of 34 tasks relevant to function content in the MiC textbook, and this study explored the communication elements on the questions of each task. To accomplish this, this study first of all was to reconstruct and establish an analytic framework, on the basis of 'D.R.O.C type' of communication developed by Kim & Pang in 2010. In addition, based on the achievement standards of function domain in mathematics curriculum revised in 2015 in Korea, this study basically compared with the function content included in MiC textbook and Korean mathematics curriculum document. Also, it tried to explore the distribution of communication elements according to the types of communication.

  • This study analyzed the non-cognitive domains (self-management competency, interpersonal relations competency) and cognitive domains (physical communication competency, comprehensive reasoning ability) among K-CESA for college students in the Division of Architecture at 𐩒𐩒 University and construction company workers, after which a training program for college students was designed. A K-CESA diagnostic evaluation was conducted on 25 construction company workers and 36 students in the senior and junior years of the division of Architecture. To identify the discrepancies among the two groups, "One-way ANOVA", a mean difference test, was performed and the Scheffe verification system was conducted as an after-measure. The empirical analysis of this study was verified at the significance level p <.05, and statistical processing was analyzed utilizing the SPSS WIN. 23.0 program. The major findings are as follows: first, the significant point of difference between the college students and construction company workers were located in five skills (goal-oriented planning and execution skills, cooperative skills, intervention skills, leadership skills, speaking skills, analytical reasoning skills); second, the education program was developed to improve the goal-oriented planning, execution ability and analytical reasoning ability through the expert-required analysis and study research. Through follow-up studies, I suggested that there is a need to develop courses that compare the competencies of various majors and workers in public institutions, corporations and other organizations.

  • Despite the necessity and significance of mathematical competencies in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum, there has been lack of studies analyzing textbooks in which such competencies are intended in detail through various tasks. Given this background, this paper analyzed how mathematical competencies and their sub-elements have been represented in the mathematics textbooks for third and fourth grade. The findings of this study showed that 'communication' was the most prevalent mathematical competence, followed by 'reasoning', 'creativity and integration', 'information processing', 'attitude and practice', and 'problem solving' in order. This study also explored the characteristics of mathematical competencies in the textbooks by analyzing which sub-elements per competence were popular. With illustrative examples, this paper is expected to provide for textbook developers with implications on how to represent mathematical competencies throughout the textbooks.
