The effects of Mother's Discipline Style and Preschooler's Emotional Regulation Strategies on Preschooler's Leadership (어머니의 훈육방식 및 유아의 정서조절전략이 유아의 리더십에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the relationships mother's discipline style, preschooler's emotional regulation strategies, and preschooler's leadership. The subjects were 180 preschoolers who were 5 years old and their mothers live in Gwang-ju and Jeon-Nam province. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise regression analysis using the program of SPSS. The findings of the study were as follows. (1) there was a difference between the average score of subcategory and the total score of leadership according to the gender of preschooler and mother's employment and her educational background. However, there was no difference from the birth order of preschooler. (2) A correlation was not found between mother's discipline style and preschooler's leadership, but the significant negative correlation showed up between preschooler's emotional regulation strategies and preschooler's leadership. (3) The leadership of preschoolers who use positive coping strategies of a sub-area of emotional regulation strategies appeared strong. And the leadership appeared low with a boy who uses avoidant & supportive strategies, supportive strategies, aggressive strategies and venting strategies more often. Furthermore, the model of explanatory adequacy (R2) of some independent variables from the average scores of subcategory and the total score of leadership was confirmed to be the statistically significant explanatory model.

A Study on the Differences of Creative Leadership according to Preschool Children's Peer Popularity (유아의 또래 인기도에 따른 창의적 리더십의 차이연구)

  • This study identifies the differences of creative leadership according to preschool children's peer popularity. The subjects of this study were 178 5-year-old children in institutes of early childhood education in G city and all collected data were analyzed by t-test. The results of the study are as follows: 1) Children's Peer Popularity and creative leadership in the overall score, and sub-elements such as creative thinking, self-management, respect for others and community care ability of young children have a positive relationship. 2) there were statistically significant differences in the whole creative leadership and sub-elements(creative thinking, self-management, and social leadership, respect for others and community care ability) depending on peer popularity. It suggest that the results of this study have a great value to provide fundamental data for the development of peer relation building program to enhance creative leadership.

The Effects of Maternal Parenting, Teacher-Child Closeness Relationships and Effortful Control on Young Children's Leadership (어머니의 양육행동과 교사-유아 친밀 관계 및 유아의 의도적 통제가 리더십에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of young children's effortful control, maternal parenting and teacher-child closeness relationship on young children's leadership. The subjects of this study were 266, 4-5 year old children and their mothers and teachers. Young children's effortful control, maternal parenting, teacher-child relationship and leadership were assessed by mother's and teacher's report. The collected data were analyzed by means of Pearson's correlation and pathway analysis. The results were as follows: first, teacher-child closeness relationship was found to affect young children's leadership directly and indirectly through young children's effortful control. Second, maternal parenting was found to affect young children's leadership indirectly through young children's effortful control. Third, young children's effortful control was found to affect leadership directly and to have a mediating effect between maternal parenting and young children's leadership, and between teacher-child closeness relationship and young children's leadership. Additionally teacher-child closeness relationship was found to be the most important variable predicting young children's leadership. These findings suggest that teacher-child closeness relationship could be the most important means by which we could improve both young children's effortful control and leadership.

The Effect of Mother's Parental Attitude and the Ability of Children's Self-regulation on Young Children's Leadership (어머니의 양육태도 및 유아의 자기조절능력이 유아리더십에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of the present study was to analyze the elements of young children's leadership which is influenced by socio-demographic variable elements, mother's parental attitude and the ability of children' self-regulation with subjects of 435 five-year-old children and their mothers. Results showed that there was a difference in children's total leadership according to the gender. Regarding differences of mother's rearing attitude, boys showed higher self-control and leadership than girls. In differences of self-regulation and leadership, girls had a higher ability of self-regulation and leadership than boys. For birth order, parents who had more than 2 children show higher Control enemy rearing attitude. Regarding mother's employment, a working mother had freer rearing attitudes. Regarding a mother's educational background, there were differences of groups among rearing attitudes. In differences of family monthly income, there were differences regarding AE static rearing attitudes, autonomous parenting attitudes and get-up-and-go of leadership. Secondly, as a result of the relationship among mother's rearing attitudes had a static correlation between autonomous parenting attitudes and control enemy rearing attitudes. Thirdly, the children's leadership is high when the family income is high, mother's rearing attitude is free and children's ability of self-control is high.

  • This study, infants to Toddler's sense of competent leadership of social and socially competent to investigate the impact of the sense. Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi area only 5 years old male and female infants are 330 people survey F-t-data processing, validation, and verification applied to person-correlated analysis study. First of all, depending on the infant's gender remains a meaningful difference and is capable of leadership, social sense than girls score higher. Second, an analysis of correlation between competent leadership and social sense of the infant, and the result is a statistically significant difference. Second, a high degree of collective leadership to be more socially competent, comfortable. In conclusion, in this study, the infant is capable of leadership and the impact of this is social in the sense of an infant Therefore, this study is the result of an infant appearing in leadership for improving early childhood leadership training programs, and promoting a sense of being able to make a skilled early childhood social and educational implications.

Effect Young Children's Temperament and Teacher-child Relationship on Young Children's Leadership (유아 기질 및 교사-유아 관계가 유아 리더십에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze effect young children's temperament and teacher-child relationship on child's leadership. Subject were 3~5 years old 333 kindergarten young children. young children's parents answered young children's temperament questionnaire. young children's teacher answered young children's temperament and teacher-child relationship questionnaire. The research tools used in this study were the questionnaire for assessment scale of young children's temperament, teacher-child relationship and young children's leadership. To analyze effect young children's temperament and teacher-child relationship on young children's leadership, questionnaires were reconstruted from existing questionnaires. Using SPSS statistics 20 for window program, Scheff$\acute{e}$ verification, pearson product moment correlation, mutiple regression analysis, tolerance, variance inflation factor and VIF were used to analyze the data. Results of this study are summarized as follows: In child's temperament, regularity, in teacher-child relationship, closerelationship, in young children's leadership, goal achivement competence were appeared most high. In young children's temperament, adaptabilituy and durability effected on child's leadership positively. In teacher-child relationship, closerelationship and dependency relationship effected on young children's leadership positively.

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of young children's emotional intelligence and prosocial behaviors on their leadership. The subjects were 400 children aged 4 to 5 in the metropolitan area in South Korea. Subjects' emotional intelligence, prosocial behaviors, and leadership were measured by their teachers using questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analyses, and analysis of multiple regression using SPSS 23.0. Young children's emotional intelligence as well as prosocial behaviors showed the positive correlations with their leadership. In addition, young children's emotional intelligence and prosocial behaviors had the positive effects on their leadership.

  • The purpose of this study was to predict self-leadership, happiness, and job satisfaction as variables affecting the quality of life of early childhood teachers, targeting 280 early childhood teachers. The research results are as follows. First, as a result of examining the level of awareness, self-leadership, job satisfaction, and happiness were found to be high in the order. Second, as a result of examining the correlations among early childhood teachers' self-leadership, job satisfaction, and happiness, positive correlations between the three variables were found. Third, the happiness of early childhood teachers was found to partially mediate self-leadership and job satisfaction. This study seeks various ways to increase the job satisfaction of early childhood teachers and provides basic data for developing teacher education programs to improve the quality of early childhood education.

The Relations between Father's Interaction and Self-leadership, Preschool Adjustment of Young Children (아버지의 언어적 상호작용과 유아의 셀프리더십 및 유치원 적응력과의 관계)

  • This study was aimed to explore the relations between Father's language interaction and self-leadership, preschool adjustment of young children. The subjects consisted of 253 four- and five-years-old children and their father's. Data were analyzed by Pearson's r. The results of study were as follows; First, there were significant correlations between father's language and self-leadership of young children. Second, there were significant correlations between father's language and preschool adjustment of young children. The educational implications of these indicate that we need to actively develop programs to increase self-leadership and preschool adjustment of young children through parents education.

The Effect Analysis of a Picture Book-Based Leadership Education Program (그림책을 활용한 리더십교육 프로그램이 유아의 리더십에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a picture book-based leadership program on children's leadership. The participants of the study were 76, four- and five-year-old children of two kindergartens located in Seoul. The subjects participated in a 10-week program. The program was conducted once a week, for a total of 10 times during two and a half months. Children's leadership rating scale(Jang & Hwang, 2009) was used in the collection of data by teachers. A pre-post test paired-samples t-test and ANCOVA(analysis of covariance) were conducted to analyze the differences between the experimental group and the comparative group in leadership. The results of this study were as follows: First, there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the comparative group in the leadership scores of 5-year old children of the leadership scores of teachers. Second, there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the comparative group in the scores of challenges and self-confidence, self-control, and problem solving ability among the leadership component factors only among 5-year old children.
